We have a lovely deep cupboard in our kitchen but it’s been largely wasted space and I had cans and dry foods spread across three zones in the house. We installed the drawers this weekend and it was simple enough to install. But already so much easier to access and see. Turns out we had 14 cans of tomatoes and I thought we had none! Highly recommend as nice and strong. I split the food cans between three drawers but happy with the feel and strength of drawers.
Really thrilled with these. We had removed an integral fridge freezer and had an empty 600mm cupboard. These baskets are perfect. The first one took us a little while to fit but then we had them all done quite quickly after that. They are a little stiff to pull out at first but that is due to the soft close function, so this means you get a little bit of resistance to start with but a good tug and they slide out easily. Push them back in and the last few inches are soft close. Each time I use them they are getting easier to use and smoother. They look so good and have made a useless cupboard into a pantry. Makes getting stuff at the back so easy to get to. I ordered six baskets and only used five in the cupboard so have put one in another 600m cupboard and taken the existing shelf out. The shelf was low and i kept tea towels and place mats on it due to no more drawer space. It’s great that I can just pull the shelf out now without having to get nearly on my knees to put things away. Would absolutely recommend these and would buy them again if I needed more.
The baskets will allow a considerable amount of storage space in cupboards which are not easy to access. They are well built and have a robust quality. They allow usage for space in cupboards at a low level. Very pleased with our purchase of six units.
Straight forward installation. There is about 9mm play either side and if you need a few mil elevation you an just put a washer or two between the bracket and the drawer receiver.
Purchased x4, would buy products from the retailer again.
These baskets arrived earlier than expected! They are extremely strong and easy to fit but there was no margin for error. The first ones to arrive had slotted holes to allow for a slight error of measuring.
Great way to transform my cupboard. I wish I’d purchased them sooner. Sturdy, well built design that not only keep things more organised, but also provide so much more storage space than the traditional shelves.
Got these for my mum’s kitchen as she has mobility issues and it makes it so much easier for her to find things in lower cupboards. They feel pretty strong.
I made my own fitted wardrobes and fitted these baskets in the centre partition and they are so much better than shelf’s and is so easy to access all my things and there so easy to fi
If you live in a disabled council bungalow and the kitchen is not disabled friendly, always done on the cheap , then these will help to make life so much easier . I can’t bend down low or get on the floor to get stuff out of cupboards, get down cannot get up , especially if you have something in your hands . So it’s now stand or sit pull out shelf get what you need out of back of cupboard with ease . Cheaper than a new kitchen with draws that every disabled bungalow should have not stupid cupboards where nothing can be reached or lifted out easily. Theses shelves can also be fitted at the height that meets your needs .
Had to get someone to fit them but was done very quickly and with ease .
This is an updated report.
Out of the blue a replacement bracket arrived today (5/5/22). Still no contact from the company to say they had sent it though.
Soto be fair their system does work but needs some better customer contact and follow up.
I have ammended my review stars because the product is good.
The product is excellent. Sturdy, easy to assemble and to install.
However one of the fixing brackets supplied was faulty.
I have requested a replacement 3 times without any response except and automated reply trumpeting their excellent customer service. Irony at its finest.
The consequence is that I have one basket that I can not install.
I have waited patiently for a response but not none has been forthcoming.
Amazon will not assist as the product is not sold by them just through them. Semantics!
I would not recommend them solely because of the lack of customer support.
This is the second time we have installed purchased these and this time was testament to how well the original set have performed for the last year or so. The baskets are very solid and the runners work well. Fairly easy to install though you need to make sure you adjust the width accurately to get them to run smoothly. Overall we’re delighted with these and I think they are good value.
I’ve been wanting to get some of these for ages, glad I picked this product.
The pre drilled holes on the inside of the howdens cabinet didn’t line up, but it was easy enough to line up and drill some more.
Came with loads of screws – I have to say I only used two per side.
When fitting, be sure to pull out the runner to check you’re putting it in on the correct side.
The baskets just clip on easily when runner are installed.
I have loads of space in what was a very crowded cupboard before – and can actually get to stuff at the back.
Really good quality, sturdy baskets that have created so much more useable space in my kitchen. Have used three in a larder cupboard and changed a cupboard on top of the larder into a drawer. The drawer unit makes it so much easier to access all the items being stored – I am short and even on my step stool was still impossible for me to reach items at the back.
I can’t praise these enough, massively over-engineered, will last forever. Instructions were for once written by someone who had obviously actually installed this and also had the DIY skills to point out the pitfalls. The only thing I would add is to loosen the screws between the two sections before installation to allow slight adjustment in width then tighten them up again with the rack in position (slid into the cupboard). Also, it says minimum 90mm into the cupboard, it’s a minimum and best doubled or more to hide the slides better.
I’m so glad I ordered the 4 pack, 3 have gone in the larder (it’s never been so organised!), and 1 is for my pans. You do have to work out how to fit them, they went in my units perfectly with no width adjustment. I have no hesitation in recommending them. I gave them a 4 star on easy to install because the fixing packs only included the dome head screws for the drawer front option, but my very handy husband had exactly the right screws in stock. Very pleased, and it only cost me 4 pints of beer to have them installed! Bargain.
These drawers are very sturdy and rated for a 20kg load which is adequate for storing canned goods etc. The instructions are very limited and miss out some important details. Firstly, the instructions are split in the manual the UK first page ends with Step 2 item 2. Step 2 item 3 and the rest of the steps is towards the back of the instruction book. Secondly, these shelves are designed for 600mm cabinets and allow for minor adjustment in width. This is not mentioned in the instructions. The mounting rails are attached to the runner rails by 2 screws in elongated holes which allow adjustment of the width between the rails and the sides of the cabinet by about 5 – 10 mm each side. Thirdly, the instructions would have you setup the marking out and drilling the holes with the runners attached to the side mounting. By removing the 2 screws from one of the side rails the side attachment point was much easier to manipulate for marking out. You can use just one as a template as they are all the same. The instructions suggest the front hole should be 89mm from the front edge of the cabinet, I found that 110mm gave me greater separation from the door hinges. I recommend that you fit the bottom shelf then the top shelf and adjust the middle shelf appropriately.
Overall, very pleased with the finished product. See the video.
These are strong baskets and will probably last longer than my cupboard! I fitted mine to a 500mm cupboard. The instructions are not great but as I’ve built several flat packs in my life, I could work out what I needed to do. My cupboard did not have pre drilled holes so making sure each pair of runners were level and straight was the hardest part, tape measure, spirit level, screw driver, drill and some patience needed. The baskets slide easily but if loaded with lots of tins, as mine are, need a bit effort to get them started, but I like the strong solid feel. Obviously fitting baskets means I loose a bit of space in my cupboard but now l can actually see what I have and will not have any antiques lurking on the back of a shelf!! This was a good Lockdown 3 project.
Excellent product that can has increased capacity of our cupboards and made reaching items so much easier. Dropped two stars for assembly because of poor instructions with small, faint drawings making measurements almost impossible to see. It didn’t help that they were stapled together in a booklet incorrectly so that first page was English and the next page German, so you had to search through to find the next page. There’s also no mention of the 4 screws on upper surface of the rails that you use to finely adjust the width. I found these after installation when trying to find out why one cupboard’s baskets would slide smoothly and the other was stiff and difficult to move. If this happens to you, loosen these screws whilst supporting the weight of the basket, then retighten (the basket support will slide to the correct width). We now have two cupboards with baskets that move smoothly and soft-close mechanisms that work well. Overall I would certainly recommend this product, but would ask the seller to improve instructions.
I replace an integral tall fridge with an American type one so this left me with an 8 foot tall deep cupboard. So I bought 6x600mm baskets to fit into the old fridge space.
They fitted straight in with no packers and although a bit stiff just now I know this will ease off as I’ve fitted similar baskets before.
The big question is..is my wife happy and the short version is yes. I left a bigger gap top and bottom and made sure that everything else was nice and level and spaced so it pleased the eye.
Would I buy these again, definitely!
It also makes emptying the dish washer easy as no more stretching over stuff to place things at the back of the cupboards. Not to sure what the final version of what the baskets will be used for as she has just told me that she might use it as a pantry type cupboard as air can flow around the dry goods and cans, so I might be back to empty all the crockery out and lump tins of soup across the kitchen….
These Kukoo shelves have saved us from buying a new kitchen. Absolutely love them, can get anything out of my kitchen cupboards without getting down on my knees to see what is in there! Or to reach the stuff at the back. No more 4 years out of date tins right at the back. My husband, aged and not very fit, fitted them himself, with no problems. A real game changer in the kitchen. Well done Kukoo.
This is a good item, or good enough at least, but I feel somehow it could be better. Others I’ve installed have been more robust. But there’s nothing specifically wrong with it. It is a snap to install, and it certainly does the job. But every time I pull it out – and I’ve had it for months now – I worry it’s going to collapse. For the money, though, who’s to complain?
These work well, are relatively straightforward to install. The action on them is not bad (but clearly not as good as if you had paid top dollar). As others have said, you’ll get them to work best by making sure that you install them level (both front-to-back and also side-to-side).
One of ours turned up with the vase of the basket slightly distorted, which was frustrating. Some very careful bending (using full body weight!) straightened it.
It’s a shame you can only buy the 600m wide size in even numbered packs of 2, 4 or 6 🙁
The basket is 490mm wide. The runners easily clear my 20mm cupboard door hinges and possibly allow clearance of up to 25mm. Each of the runners is 35mm wide (so it doesn’t matter which side the hinge is on) taking the total internal width of this product to aprox 560mm, which fitted my 600 cupboard internal dimensions of 564(ish)mm perfectly. Overall seems to be sturdy and well made. One basket is entirely filled with tin cans and the mechanism still seems smooth and the soft close still works. Lots of holes for fixings so you can mess a couple up (as I did). Screws were probably as advertised, but they didn’t fit the internal plugs of my Wicks carcass so i had to use alternatives. Overall, wife happy as I’ve finally got this job sorted and we’ve only been here 7 years. Glad I purchased them (and married her)
The kuKoo Kitchen Storage Baskets, arrived quick. I orderd before midday & received my baskets direct from Monster Group UK early afternoon the following day (they only promised 3 to 5 working day delivery !!).
The baskets are weighty well made units.
The Soft Close Runners, stick a little when you start to pull out the baskets (which shake the contents a little !!) but this may ease with use.
You will need to adjust the runners to suit your cabinets width (mine was 600mm overall less 2 x 15mm sides leaving 570mm internal) This ment maximum adjustment, best done before you fix the runners to the cabinet, as the adjustment scews are stiff !!
All the supplied fixing screws were M4 x 16mm Dome Head screws, so place a screw through a runner fixing hole & offer up to the cabinet side to check length (mine protruded 14mm which is tight for a 15mmm panel).
I used a 2mm pilot drill fitted with a depth stop to prevent drilling through the cabinet side (if you haven`t got a depth stop, you can wind masking taps arround the drill bit, but drill carefully or you can move the tape).
The suggested 89mm in & min 80 mm up from the cabinet bottom for the first screw position worked OK, with a spirit level to line up for the second rearmost screw position, fixing the remaining screws as instructed (measure twice & drill once !!).
To space out the remaining baskets don`t forget to place the tallest items you want in a basket & measure how much it protrudes above the basket. You don`t want the bottom of the next basket to catch on the contents of the one below !! (measure twice & drill once !!).
– These are exactly what I was looking for to go in a tall ‘pantry’ cupboard from Howdens (who don’t supply a similar product, and if they did, it would cost a lot more!). I’d seen these in Ikea, but their cupboards are deeper than most kitchen manufacturers’, so wouldn’t fit.
– The fitting instructions weren’t very clear and our fitter struggled a bit (he didn’t realise the sides are slightly adjustable to width), plus one of the sliders was damaged and part of one drawer was slightly bent. However, on contacting the company they quickly sent a replacement (in fact, a box of two, so we ended up with an extra one).
– On fitting they are a bit stiff to pull out – suddenly ‘jumping’ when they get past a certain point. Either it’s got better time or we’ve stopped noticing! (I was concerned it would make jars etc fall over, but not had a problem).
– They are slightly smaller than they need to – feels a bit like some space is wasted around the sides and back of the cupboard, but this is more than made up for in ease of reaching everything. I have some high up, and the wire basket style means it’s easy to see what’s in it, even when vertically challenged!
– Over all, very happy with this purchase. Nice robust drawers.
Arrived swiftly, nicely packed, look solid and well made, all as everyone says … BUT you need a magnifying glass to read the instructions – which are anyway less use than the ropiest instructions from flat pack furniture.
From which end do they mean the measurements to be from… the diagram says “89 mm inwards” …but from where – the back of the cabinet or the front? (and yes you do need a magnifying glass to read even the expanded blown up part of the diagram)
Where is it “essential” to locate the metal clips. OK they say the lowest point of the basket but at which end? Sure there’s a support helpline – but not open now, when I am trying to install these things.
I’d read all the reviews claiming these are “easy to install”. Took one look and realised this was not going to be quick, easy, or stress-free. Will I struggle myself or will I end up hiring somebody to do it for me?
I’m sure they will be excellent when installed, but only three stars for the shoddy instructions.
Edit: Having fitted them
1. The instructions are worthless. You’re better off sitting and working out out for yourself, however this is perfectly possible. Hint, if you have shelves fitted and are replacing these then the shelves can prove a great help when locating the runners by providing a surface, a horizontal marker etc. Just remember to we to take the shelf out before fitting the basket.
2. There is some lateral adjustment to help avoid door hinges, which is very useful. Not much so care is still necessary, but it definitely helps.
3. Once installed they look strong and appear to work fine (have yet to operate them fully laden)
Took about 3 hours to go from a full cupboard to an empty cupboard with baskets on runners. (Some fine adjustment may still be required.) The second one will probably be a quicker.
Not possible to up the score from 3 to 3 1/2 so being generous its a 4.
In short, ‘adequate’. The baskets are the best feature being reasonably robust and attractive in a catering/industrial style. The runner and support mechanism less so. The action is surprisingly stiff (on all of the six units I bought were the same), and what I presume is an ‘anti inadvertant basket slide out’ resistor mechanism requires a fair tug to pull the basket beyond it, requiring a quick countermeasure to the force (and possibly your balance) being applied, when it yields!. The hydraulic soft close damping is good, but the runners are not exactly what you would call ‘free running’ so in a similar style to opening you have to give a decent shove to get them moving before they get ‘caught’ by the dampers and then get pulled in, although that final act in a top quality fashion. I experimented with the width adjusters as the telescopic part of the runners was not properly vertical on some, and moving the adjustment in and out seemed to help correct this, but no difference to any of the aforementioned stiffness.
Time will tell whether the fairly flimsy support for the runners and incumbent width adjusting brackets can cope with all the torque required. You will literally be opening and closing hundreds of times in the first year of use, There are only 4x 16mm screws each side too.
Final point, if you are installing yourself I would strongly recommend using a laser line level to get your level across the cabinet for the screw holes (unless perhaps you have some cabinet manufactured shelf holes nearby that you can measure as a guide). As the level does need to be precise, A spirit level with pencil marks was not was not nearly accurate enough and resulted in a nearly immovable basket first time due to the 2-3mm height difference.
