Brilliant great playing with granddaughters , brings back memories when I was a child.
A fun Family game (even though it’s technically only a two-player game!) everyone can get involved. Nice to get the brain working!
I played the original version back in the day, but this newer version is great as it has more colours so greater flexibility to vary the difficulty depending on who’s playing it. Great fun, would recommend!
Hard for us oldies – more combinations than old “Mastermind” game I remember. The pegs rather loose and tend to fall out easily when knocked or moved and fiddly for old fat fingers! However good value and hours of “fun” or challenging the mind.
Bought this for my 7 year old granddaughter and she loves it. It’s a game we can play together and really makes her think about the strategy of the game. My 5 year old granddaughter has the hang of it too as it’s easy to learn the rules.
Really enjoy playing this with kids, they played it at school and loved it so much they requested it for Christmas, well worth i
We love this game – it is a tricky game that looks much easier than it really is (and makes my brain hurt a lot), but it’s a lot of fun and would 100% recommend to add to your game collection.
This version is sturdy and well made.
I’m so glad I found this! I’ve bought it for my daughter’s 16th birthday. But really it’s for me. Very similar to battleships. Lots of coloured pins and black and white. The board is a good size for two players,I thought it was going to be small but it’s not. Sturdy, simple to play but requires some logic, great to put down the phone/ electronica and go back to basics. All the components can be stored away nicely in sturdy game box.
This is an excellent game which I’ve had before but wanted an updated one. The colours of the pegs are very pale and similar, so a little disappointed as difficult to see the difference between them.
The quality seemed ok, although the lid which was designed to keep all of the coloured pegs safe inside, kept sticking. It really made our brains ache working with five options rather than the original four used in Mastermind. Some difficulty fitting the game back in the storage box due to design of box.
I used to love this game when I was younger. I purchased this for my 6 year olds Christmas and we’ve had great fun playing with it so far.
A negative of this set up is that the correct order screen does not flip around the opposite way so that you can confirm to your opponent that they have guessed correctly and there is no cover for the small black and white pegs, hopefully they will not get lost over time. These points don’t affect the game at all and is only because the game I had when I was younger did have these things.
Nice product, the only down side is the counters are not as tight fitting as the original 1970 version so you have to take care they don’t slip out during the game.
Played it when I was younger and it’s just as fun playing it now. This game is simple and anyone would be able to pick up the rules easily. We’ve been increasing the difficulty with adjusting the patterns (ie, repeating colours & including gaps). It’s great fun for any ages. The only negative is that it doesn’t provide an extra bag/container for the ‘b&w’ pins so made it harder to store. Overall, it’s a great fun product that suits all ages.
Not bad product like on china manufacture…Plastic pins have too much loose according to the holes where we put them so when accidentaly overturns plates all pins are fall out….
This has a code of five pieces which can be broken by kids aged about 10 upwards as the black and white pegs are placed in the same locations as the coloured pegs. We tried making it harder but not doing this but then it became impossible (too many variables!). Next time we’ll just use four pegs and see how that works!
Excellent game to get the brain working a bit. A good reminder of the 1970s mastermind game. The kids love it. A couple of people have mentioned in reviews a couple of drawbacks, ie. the box holding the pins is difficult to open and the black and white pins don’t have a lid on them. The first one is solved by filing the little nubs on the box, then it opens perfectly easily. The second one is solved by putting the black and white pins in a small plastic bag for storage and keeping the game in the box it comes in for storage.
