Really well conceived game – easy to learn but plenty of scope to develop strategies. We enjoyed the way it replicates an actual bike race with slipstream conferring energy advantage, and that tricky decision of whether to go it alone on a breakaway that may get caught, or stick with the bunch and try to sprint ahead at the right moment. Lots of fun to play.

I love this game. Easy instructions, quick to set up and great fun for all gamer types (novice to pro)

There are add-ons you can by seperately to add more fun.

Awesome game. Agree with all the positive reviews.
Wanted to note that Amazon (Amazon themselves) sent this in a PAPER BAG thus the game box arrived ruined.
I will never again buy a board game from Amazon. It is best to use board game dealers who use cardboard boxes.

The game plays well with two, three or four players.
If you get the Peloton add on, it adds extra players and rule for AI riders.

Firstly the quality of the game components are excellent – top notch. Can’t say the same for the rules, possibly something lost in translations but it took us several goes to unravel some of them. Having played several times, the way its mimics actual cycle races is actually very good. You can try breakaways and hope you have the legs, or try to lurk in the peleton and then hope you time the sprint right.

picked this game up on an impulse after seeing a shut up and sit down play through on youtube

    so glad i did

    yes the game looks dull

hell when you read the rules you think “dear god this will be dull”

when you play it though .. dear god it’s sharp , it’s quick and it’s amazing fun to play

great for a family game nigh

Enjoyed playing with the family over Christmas and was quite true to life with tactics, luck and not knowing what the other riders plans were. Only downside was max 4 players

This game has been on my radar for a while, and I finally decided to climb into the saddle. The design for movement and planning is so simple to pick up and yet there is a lot of complexity and planning to it. The game is quick to play, and since decisions are made simultaneously you won’t find yourself waiting too long for the next turn.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGame for all ages, 2 pensioners, great fun. A bit of thought, and stratergy needed not to waste slots, or take advantage of free slots, on the hills. But, nothing to taxing, and easily mastered after a couple of starter games. NB. You need to purchase the Peleton Expansion Pack to get the Muscel team and Peleton Team cards. In it you also get, extra track sections including Cobblestones, 3 lane sections, a feeding station, and 2 more cycling teams. The game then becomes better for 2 people, plus a muscel team and a peleton Team, 8 cyclists instead of 4. When the family comes, up to 6 players or 6 teams can race, frustration, chaos, and great fun. Super Quality Game, very well made.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWhat a cracking, fun game this is. The most clever feature is the way it appropriates a cycle race. The early stages are cagey, each rider jockeying for position, then, as the race progresses, the field stretches out a bit and there’s a chance to make the dash for the line. Riders move up in the peleton because of slipstreaming and, likewise, if you’re in front you get ‘exhaustion cards’ which slows your progress. Staying at the back prevents getting these cards but then you do need to manoeuvre your way around the other riders to the front at some stage. Timing is critical. There are four different courses, some including mountains which also helps with the variety.

The graphic design in a 1930s style, including the cyclist pieces, is very pleasing. I do have some gripes about the production of the game, though. The different types of card are hard to tell apart and the box doesn’t include places to store them so you need to rubber band them after play. Still a five star game, though.

Great racing game. Only played it twice so far. Need to play it a few times more and t
the mountain varients to get the real feel for it. Unfortunately this was game nr 3 out of 3 from Amazon that arrived with damage to the box… not what you want when you are a collector.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersThis is no ordinary racing game! The mechanics are simple and easy to learn, a pleasant change from rulebooks which stretch to twenty pages or more. Don’t be fooled though by the fact that each player is basically just moving their bikes forward on a track. There is a tactical depth to Flamme Rouge demanding strategic planning from start to finish. In fact even though I know nothing about team cycling and am not a huge fan of racing games, Flamme Rouge is a sheer joy to play. The modular track system adds an extra dimension and tactics have to be precise in order to tackle hills successfully. Moreover Flamme Rouge is a game ripe for added accessories, so it could become a delight for those keen modellers who are eager to inject a scenic landscape. Will definitely be purchasing expansion versions.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersThis is a really good cycle race game. I like it because you just cannot speed ahead of the field or you will be penalised with exhaustion cards which will really slow you up at the end. The track is made up of large jigsaw type pieces so you can make a variety of different shaped courses. The game is played with cards but you have to choose you strategy well to stand a chance of winning. Staying in the pack is more beneficial to you but don’t let yourself fall too far behind the leader. If you play it right, you can benefit from slipstreaming the cyclist in front of you as you can gain additional moves if you are one clear space behind. A game with all the playing pieces took about 1 hour and a half but I was totally into what I was doing and the time went very quickly. This is a race game with tactics and can be quite exciting when the end approaches with several riders vying to get to the finish line first. You can play your own Tour De France or Tour of Britain if you like. A great game that is well worth checking out.
