- 1. The PIR sensor switch only works in dark environment according to the default setting.
- 2. Do make sure there is no dust, oil or water on the surface of objects the light strip is going to stick on before installation to avoid falling off.
- 3. Please do not DIY with more than 6 meters otherwise it will overload and may cause power adapter problem.
1. Why do you need a set of LED strips activated by movement?
It offers a cost-effective alternative to traditional electric incandescent light bulbs.
2. How does it work?
A: Automatic light on / off of lights by human induction: the under cabinet lighting kit is supplied with a pir motion sensor switch. When people enter the detection range, the light turns on. During the delay time when movement is detected, the delay time is restored and a new delay time begins. If there is no more movement, the light goes out.
B: Turn the lighting on or off immediately by pressing the switch. The under cabinet lighting comes with an on/off switch.
3. Tips for wiring?
1. Power adapter + on / off switch + led strip
2. Power adapter + PIR sensor switch + led strip
3. Power adapter PIR sensor switch+ on+ on / off switch LED strip
Note:
1) The PIR sensor switch only works in dark environment according to the default setting.
2) Make sure that there is no dust, oil or water on the surface of the objects before installing the appliance to prevent it from falling.

Great product, easy to use and set up.
Perfect in daughters wardrobe.
Simply to put up, I’ve not used the motion sensing part or rocker switch that are provided as it’s plugged into a remote control plug( though I have another on the stairs that I did use with the motion sensing part and it worked brilliantly)
Its bright enough to eliminate the dining room and living room with ease and looks really good.
I would say as long as you want a lot of light there great, if your after a more intimate look there too bright for that.
We have one set that light up when we open the larder door, and another at the entrance to the conservatory. We are very pleased with them.
Provides a perfect light for our hall cloakroom. The instructions for the dimmer sensitivity could be better but works a real treat.
All OK,easy to install and setup.
Bright enough above the kitchen worktop.
Remember set up sensor before fix.
Good set of string lights. Come on when walk in kitchen and made to go off after 1 min. Needs time adjusting and sensitivity. Pop open the eye box and adjust the little pins. Good quality.
Used to light stairs but wiring on sensor too short to place centrally so don’t light from bottom of stairs have get past half way before lights switch o
Invest in a pair of ray bans if you intend to get the brightest choice. I also made a mistake of getting cool white rather than warm white due to a slip of the finger.
My intention was to use this for under bed nightlight, when getting up in middle of the night it would light up, but it’s so bright (and white) that it lights up the whole room. I need to think about how to angle it away.
Adhesion was amazing, just give the surface a wipe first and make sure it’s dry, really simple to apply.
Good product, used for kitchen under kick boards easy to install.. motion detector works well ,(it takes a little time to set up and adjust) . Lights give off a great lighting effect.
Need new strip lighting for top of kitchen cupboards, purchased a battery powered set, worked ok but no adjustment on PIR or light settings, so they were on 90% of the time during the day. Went through batteries very quick. These are 100% better, no false switching,as the PIR detector has three screw adjusters inside (just unclip the back) only comes on at dusk/night and doesn’t recognise the cat as movement !!!!
Just need to today up the wires.
Works well. Can’t say anything bad. Light is bright. Instructions aren’t great if you want to install additional sensor but I managed to figure it out.
I managed to do it. You need to buy an additional sensor, same model which is Sensky BS010WL. That’s the White version that’s available directly from Amazon. The black one is more than 3 times the price as it’s third party.
You’ll also need one 1 female to 2 male splitter DC power cable and you’ll need one 1 male to 2 female splitter cable (managed to find one on Amazon, Cerrxian brand).
Then you connect the single end of each splitter to the power cable and the other to the light. Then just insert both of the sensor’s wires to the right splitter.
You may need to get a couple or four of male to female DC power extension cable if you need to place one of the sensor’s further away.
Not sure if you can use different sensor settings on each one. Like timing etc but I kept them both the same just incase.
It’s worked for me.
Bought two sets of these lights and fitted them on my stairs, one motion sensor on the top step and one on the bottom. Control adjustment on the sensor is very touchy but works perfectly when set up. Installation was very straight forward although the instructions are not great. Make sure you get the plus and minus connections correct if you are joining two sections together. Very happy with the results.
Great product, bought instead of expensive kitchen lights! Does the job well, connection is super quick and easy. Motion control is also does the job well
I’ll buy more if needed in a future
Needed a motion light for the bathroom mainly for night time so the kids can see.
I extended the wire to reach the plug socket by cutting where not needed (motion sensor end) and adding to the plug socket end.
Wasn’t too sure if motion sensor would work well. Tested it first and played around with settings. Ended up leaving it on default.
Once installed I was impressed with the range of the motion sensor. Activated from across the hallway.
Does the job intended
Used this is our pantry and was very pleased with the result. splitting and re-joining the lights was easy but i did have to look online to find out how to adjust the motion sensitivity (look in the earlier reviews). Good lights
She’s event what it says on the tin! The lights stick well but the sensor does not stick well. I had to buy extra 3m sticky pads. Not a problem though. The lights are very bright and do their job well in an unlit understairs cupboard. It’s bright enough to leave the door open and light up the room!!
Definitely worth the purchase and have already bought three sets over the last year.
Great lights to add a bit of interest to your kitchen. Particularly handy in the evening with the motion detection which works brilliantly! This picture was taken on a rainy day at 8am and it still gives a good amount of light. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars is because there is no option to adjust the sensor to night mode only so the lights turn on throughout the day, I have installed both the switch and the sensor so it gives us an option of turning the lights off during the day. Otherwise a great product.
Used to illuminate our fitted wardrobe. Lights are great and a nice tone. Adjusting the settings was slightly fiddly but once we got there, they work fine. Sticky strip could do with a little more adhesive.
So pleased with this I brought another straight away. Used for a wardrobe interior rebuild and cut LEDs to length of shelves and stuck to the underside of the lip. Works brilliantly when you don’t see the actual LEDs. I did some soldering so I could neatly connect and hide the wires.
The second project was simply fitting around the inside of a cupboard door frame, drilling one hole for the wire into the loft to plug it in and was finished in 10 minutes. Motion sensor is really good and the colour temperature is exactly right no be practical but not harsh on the eye. Will use this product again the the remaining built in wardrobes.
Connections a bit loose, but I soon realised I was putting them too far in, just pulled them back slightly and worked a treat. I did however solder bell cable into the connectors replacing the small length of wire supplied to have the straps on each of my 4 walls, make the room look better.
Built some large built in wardrobes in an alcove in my bedroom and bought these to throw some light into them when opening the doors. They work a treat, the sensor if placed carefully in the right space works amazing. They are very bright and i have had no issues at all with them.
I had read that cutting and pasting the strips into separate sections was tricky. I must admit I found it a doddle. I cut in the right place, plugged the new ends into the connector and it worked first time. Each cut took literally 2 minutes. And this was after I had thrown away the instructions. So dont let that side of things put you off.
Pleasantly surprised also at how well these lights light up the airing cupboard. Really is impressive. The sticky back strip bonded well to the timber as well.
The motion sensor dones hang about either and with a little tweaking of the setting we have it down to a duration we are happy with. Took about 10 mins playing with the driver unit to get that right. The motion sensor picks up movement through the Louvre door which was a bit annoying as it would go off as we walked past the closed cupboard, so we put some masking tape over the bottom half of the sensor and it fixed that issue.
Would definitely recommend.
I have 2 of these, the first in the kitchen, bought Feb 2019, the second in the hall, bought, Oct 2019, both work really well, light the room really well, very energy efficient with the light only coming on automatic when the room is in use, so good the switched bulbs in those rooms are no longer used.
I don’t often submit reviews but this product has been so good and reliable, I’m happy to recommend 🙂
Just about to buy a third one!
I fitted these under the cupboards in the kitchen. 6 metres. They come on immedediately when entering the kitchen which is about 4 – 5 metres.
They come with 3 connectors so you can split them into 3 which is useful if you have exposed areas and don’t want the led strip to show. They are very bright so would advise installing the lights indirectly.
The adhesive backing wasn’t perfect in places but I had some bostik ‘glu dots’ which were perfect for adding extra adhesion where needed. 1 in B&M.
Bought for indoor lighting and decorative purposes. Very easy to install and set up. Manual switch to turn off entire system. Motion detector works well but will need adjusting, though very simple and instructions provided. LED are bright and good adhesive supplied made sticking/setting up clean and easy. DC powered and included means no worries about batteries but cables need to be hidden which needs to be considered. Overall very happy with purchase and the kit definitely met my expectations.
Overall great product, the only reason for not giving 5 starts was that not the product fault itself itself great but very very bright. I have it on my landing as a night light but it is super bright and I’ve placed in conduate channel sit doesn’t blind you and its pointing down but still very bright. Would be amazing for dark cupboards tho.
Excellent lighting option. Installed in sliding wardrobes to limit use of main light in bedroom when OH is asleep. Provide really good light. Plenty on the roll. Looks really good and professional. Self adhesive backing to lights allows easy installation. Sticking well so far (3 weeks since installing).
Motion sensor is good and sensitive, but not too much so. Our wardrobe doors are glass and movement outside the door doesn’t trigger the motion sensor.
These are pretty good, a bit fiddly to install and like most things the wires are not long enough and you can’t buy them in longer sizes. I had to make some modifications to get them to work in my setup but the lighting they give off is excellent. Motion detector works but I haven’t figured out how to change the delay time and don’t know if I will ever get around to it.
A complete failure of the seller/manufacturer to include any instructions on how to adjust the sensitivity of the PIR sensor or how to adjust the on duration.
Plugging in for the first time, the lights turn on in the absence of detecting any motion.
This really is not good enough.
The lights when on are very bright so this looks like it could be a good product if I can work out how to adjust the PIR sensor.
The controls for adjusting the PIR sensor are internal so you have to force open the case of the sensor and inside are 3 controls.
Having experimented with this, I can now provide some useful tips on how to set up the PIR sensor.
Step 1. Force open the case to the PIR. ( You may have to glue or tape it shut later as it doesn’t re-close firmly.)
Step 2. Adjust the on duration first. Set to a low on time (seconds), then you can experiment with the IR sensitivity and light sensitivity controls.
The On duration control is the top most control (furthest from where the wires enter). Turn this fully clockwise with a small screwdriver, THEN turn it back anticlockwise a small amount until the grove points at 1:35hrs if it were a clock face. This control is very sensitive.
Step 3. Test the sensor out. Make sure it responds to your body heat. You should find the sensor triggers the lights to come on for something of the order of 8 seconds. Get this working first. You can adjust the on time to be what you need it to be later.
Step 4. Start to experiment with the IR sensitivity. As the on time is now so short, you are able to see the results of the changes you make here.
The IR sensitivity control is at the lower right of the circuit board.
If the distance at which the sensor triggers is too low, too close, then turn the control clockwise. This will make the IR sensor more sensitive.
Position the sensor where you want it, and walk towards it. Observe at what distance it triggers and adjust the control as necessary.
Step 5. Experiment with the Light sensitivity control.
The sensor incorporates a light level sensor such that if the level of room illumination is high enough, it doesn’t turn on the LEDs.
Play with this, by carrying out tests with the room light on and off (or daytime /night time).
You might not need to adjust this control, all down personal preference.
Step 6.
Finally, adjust the on duration time to be what you really need it to be.
Step 7. Reassemble the case. It may be lose after having forced it open the first time. I’d suggest using a bit of masking tape to provide a temporary closure mechanism, so you have the opportunity to make further adjustments to it. Then when it is all set up perfectly, you can think about glueing it shut permanently.
Though I suspect with time, over years of use, the IR sensitivity control might need further adjustment, so I personally wouldn’t glue the case shut: I’d use an appropriate coloured small piece of electrical tape.
My verdict? It’s quite a good product, shame about the missing instructions.
Super easy to install, works like a dream. I’ve installed it under the top of the chest of drawers in my mum’s room as she wakes up during the night and this is perfect to give her that amount of light for the time she needs without waking her up as it is under the top about waist hight.
My only critisism is that adjusting the timer to my desired few seconds takes a long time as turning the tiny timer you need very precise movement and it will be less than a second or more than you need.
But once you find it so as I did, you can forget it and it does its job perfectly 🙂
These light are great, worked really well for a cloak room cupboard with no light.
The only bit I struggled with was on the polarity and using the connectors to join the LED strips, the polarity on the connectors is very hard to read and you can’t always connect the + to the + depending on the strip you have to connect it the other way around. So if at first it doesn’t light up when you use the connector, try the other end of the LED strip.
But overall this item is excellent.
I was a bit skeptical about buying these as they were quite cheap compared to others that I had seen. To my surprise these were absolutely amazing! the lights stick to any surface very easily and are very bright. Plugging it in was very easy and worked perfectly. The only bad point for me was setting the timing for the motion detection, I found it quite tricky at first but there is a very informative video to help. Overall a great product!
Easier (than I thought) to fit. Brilliant effects. Thoroughly happy !
It took me a week or two to pluck up the courage to fit these lights. Mainly due to having to wire two separate strips (see pic) in series across the door under the threshold.
I needn’t have worried, it was very straightforward and looks great.
Very happy and will buy again.
(In fact, there was enough left, for me to do the same to my girlfriends kitchen as well…..she’s VERY happy !)
I’ve been looking at how to light up a built in wardrobe for a few months, I’d identified all the parts and was just about to order them when I spotted this kit. It worked out approx 2 cheaper and had more LED length, so decided it was a great deal and because it was all sold as a kit it must work together – and it does!
I fitted the led tape in to an aluminium housing I had left over but it would have been fine just stuck to the shelf.
It was a 2 sliding door wardrobe so I marked the maximum opening point both ways and put the sensor in the middle of the 2 markings – this way it would equally detect which ever side it was opened.
You need to pop the back of the sensor housing off to adjust the levels but that’s all explained in the instructions – so you need to do this before you fit it for final. I used some Velcro pads until I had the time, light and sensitivity sorted.
All in all – good light level and good sensitivity.
Definitely recommended – such a cheap solution and a great result.
I bought 3 of these and powered them all from 1 power supply and still bright.
Fitted them into (of the same) wardrobes along a wall.
2 worked well and stayed in place, 1 had a fault but the issue was resolved with a replacement after making contact with the seller.
Stuck to the ceiling in the bathroom for our 2 year old to see at night going to the toilet without putting very bright lights on. The adapter seemed to be faulty, however I had a spare from another set no longer in use, so I was lucky here. They can be cut at the points marked to make a shorter length if you wish. Ours are set so they only trigger if it is dark and the motion is detected and then they go off after the set length of time. Easy to set up and use.
Good level of light for under my kitchen cupboards, to light the worktop. Very easy to install, I have noticed however that the PIR is becoming less responsive. Not sure how long it will last. I would buy again though.
Update – December 2020
Still going strong!
In a word, brilliant. I bought this to light up a dark full height corner cupboard in the kitchen. I’ve stuck the LEDs down the inside edge behind the door frame so they are not visible, and the detector under the bottom shelf pointing at the door, so that isn’t visible either but can “see” your legs when you open the door. I connected it all up before installing to test it and to adjust the detector. I did find that the delay setting on the detector is terribly sensitive, I could not get it to turn off after less than about 20 seconds, any further adjustment made them turn off instantly and so they constantly flashed. But 20 seconds is good enough for me. I didn’t have to adjust the other settings, it is very sensitive to movement, and turns on whatever the ambient light is. Installed in the cupboard (which conveniently has a socket inside so I didn’t have to run the power from outside), it works superbly. The 2.5m length I bought is too long for one vertical run, so I cut it to fit, and then used one of the included joining cables to use connect the piece I had cut off too, giving more light at head height. They come on instantly and we can now see what we’re doing in the cupboard!
One warning – if you test it before installing, don’t leave the lights on for long while they are still coiled up on the spool, they will get very hot very quickly. Unwound in place they do not get hot.
Exactly what they are described as, however the PIR would be much more useful if it was adjustable and these are the first LED strips i have purchased that do not have a plastic splash proof coating. For kitchen lighting which is why i bought them i would of preferred the coated ones.
