The robot vacuum arrived well packaged with a spare filter and brushes. It was about 50% charged, I’d recommend charging it fully for an hour or so before it’s first use.
First impressions are favourable. It has a quiet, standard and performance mode, along with carpet boost. All of this can be set via the app. If you don’t use the app or want it, the robot will do a basic clean with one press of the power button and will return home with two presses.
The return to base function is simply. It uses an infra-red beam and a receiver on the robot to locate the base. As such it needs a clear line of sight. If it is in a room where it can ‘see’ the base it will return very quickly.
If it is a considerable distance or is behind furniture, then it will gradually hunt around until it finds its beam. This can take several minutes. Sometimes it seems to stop and think about things, I think it must store some information in a memory.
Either way, it has always returned apart from once when it got stuck under the bed.
It has anti fall sensors to detect stairs. I often set it up on the landing and allow it to hoover and sweep thr landing and bedrooms. It returns to its base on the landing, and I come back to a tidy house.
It isn’t a Roomba but is definitely worth considering for the price. All in all I’m impressed.
Oh my gosh! I don’t usually leave reviews but I cannot express how happy I am with my new little friend. Switch her on and off she goes, cleans the whole of my floors before returning to her base for a recharge. And she does an amazing job! Get’s right to the edges, unlike my upright hoover. I’m so impressed!
The app is great and easy to connect. If you have problems getting past the password bit try not using numbers. It seems to only accept letters. But once connected you can keep an eye on your little friend or control her from your phone.
Downstairs on Thursday and upstairs on a Friday, while I’m at work, frees up time for me on a weekend.
I’m that impressed with my robot hoover that I’m now going to try a Robot Lawnmower.
The set up was simple enough. Installing the application was easy and connecting it to the robot was simple enough. All you have to do is follow the instructions in the manual. Make sure you have your WiFi key with you when you do it as there is a timeout. When I ran up and down the stairs to get the WiFi key it timed out. Still. I needed the exercise and then I had the key so all good.
Once the app and device were connected the robot needed renaming and then away we went. Setting a schedule is easy enough. Ours does the downstairs every night at midnight.
It is amazing at the amount of stuff it collects and we think/thought we had a clean house!
I do recommend this product. Is it the jazziest interface? No but it’s functional and efficient and does the job.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, as this is my first purchase of a robotic vacuum cleaner, and it’s at the cheaper end if the budget, but I’m actually very impressed.
I’ve named him Bob and he’s very efficient.
Setting up the app was a little fiddly if you’re unsure of how to split your WiFi frequencies between 2.4ghz and 5ghz, as the vacuum connects to 2.4ghz WiFi. But as long as your are able to do that, then the app runs fine.
I didn’t find the app that intuitive, but I found it easy enough to set Bob’s schedule. So he automatically run each day at the same time, which is fabulous. He takes his time and travels between my living room and kitchen, which is all on the same level, through the double doors, to do his rounds. He takes about 90 mins to clean both areas and in fairness, he’s figured out the many different pathways, furniture placements and pitfalls. If he gets stuck, he beeps a bit, turns himself around, and normally manages to get himself unstuck.
We have laminate, tiles and the odd rugs downstairs, and he’s managed them all fine.
I’ve taken him upstairs to do the hallway landing; his fall detection prevents him falling down the stairs which is very neat. I’d say he struggles a bit more with the upstairs carpet than he does with the tiles/laminate, but the carpet is dense, and older. The only thing he doesn’t manage to get off the carpet is the odd bit of sock fluff.
I love that when he’s finished his rounds, he just heads off for his charger and goes home.
It’s made my life so much easier and my house looks clean each day. So far I haven’t needed to get out my Shark upright cleaner, but will probably use it every now and again to give a deeper clean.
Would highly recommend this robotic vacuum. Very pleased.
I was a bit unsure on this, being only 100, and the app had terrible reviews, but I took a gamble and I’m really impressed. We mainly have hard floors, turn it on and leave it and it manages to do a really good job (takes about 1 and a half hours before it runs out of battery and returns to its charging point). If you watch it, you could argue it is a bit stupid at times and goes over the same spots but turn it on when you go out and come back to a job well done. It doesn’t do so well on our thick rug, but it manages to get up and off it without much trouble. Occasionally we find it stuck somewhere when we’ve left something out for it to tangle itself on, so having this on a daily schedule encourages us to be a bit tidier! Well recommended. The only thing that would improve it would be to be able to set “no go zones” in the app, but the app is quite limited. Only have to empty it once every 3 days or so, so no point in getting a self-emptying station.
Works well on the hardwood floor in my kitchen. I leave it going until the battery dies as it flips bits of debris with the little cleaners onto areas it’s already cleaned so it does need to go over the areas more than once. I would say it picks up 97% of the debris on the floor (I am talking small crumbs).
The rest of my house has high pile carpet which it is unable to cope with. It can wheel out of a hardwood room onto the carpet but then gives up (and also leaves wheel imprints behind).
So overall if you have hardwood floor only I would recommend. It cleans my kitchen floor well so for me it’s worth having for that room alone.
Having had good experience with a robotic lawn mower we decided to try a robot vacuum but having absolutely no idea of their effectiveness we picked this “entry level” machine on the basis that we could afford to scrap it if we were wrong.
We have been extremely pleased with the unit and surprised by the effective cleaning. We have operated it on a wide selection of floors, from wood to tiles and both low and deep pile carpeting, new and old. We even ran it over very dirty door mats. Our house is stone built and some 300 years old with undulating floors and odd corners. The unit seems to manage the 4000 sq ft area and handles this a couple of times each week.
Particularly noteworthy is it ability to avoid falling down stairs and also to clean a complex series of rooms without our intervention. Just leave the doors open and it will do the rest.
In all cases it performed exceptionally well. We did use the maximum suction power which reduced run time to about 1 hour.
The user does need to ensure that loose wires are tied up and the base station is placed to ensure good communication with the unit.
We would have no hesitation in buying again or recommending this product.
I was skeptical initially as it is such a good price.
Unboxing the hoover shows a sleek design which requires minimal assembly (only the brushes need attached). It comes with a spare set of brushes and a filter.
I have used the hoover for four days now and what a difference on hard floor services. My wife has even remarked a big difference from using our other hoover. The hard floors especially are hoovered much better with little to no feeling of dirt under foot. On carpets, the normal suction mode is not as good, but you can change the suction power on the Lefant app and it cleans it up nicely.
I have no criticisms for the hoover itself, it is fantastic. However, the app itself was very difficult to sign up to, you have to register on the site and transfer it onto the app which was a bit fiddly.
Other than that, 10/10 for the product itself, thank you.
