The build was challenging but enjoyable, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I had a blast putting it together, and now it takes pride of place in my Star Wars LEGO collection. Nice

Absolutely perfect for any Star Wars/mandalorian fan. This is super easy to build with the clear instructions and the end results look great. I love the detail on the mini figures and can certainly recommend it for any fan.

    Another excellent set from Lego.
It’s well thought out, well made, the instructions are clear and easy to follow and you get an great model at the end of it all.
There isn’t much more to say about it than that. If you like your Mandalorian and you like you Lego this is a great set to add to your collectio

Star Wars LEGO Set for ages 9+. This is the (way?) Mandalorian Fang Vs Tie Interceptor kit that contains 957 pieces including 3 figurines (The Mandalorian with Darksaber, a Mandalorian Fleet Commander with a blaster pistol and a Tie Pilot with Blaster Pistol.) It also contains an R2-E6 Droid Mini Figure.

First impressions were very positive, as expected from a LEGO Star Wars collaboration, the presentation is excellent and LEGO have done a fantastic job in creating an accurate LEGO replica of this Mandalorian themed kit. Both the Mandalorian Fang and Tie Interceptor have their own separate assembly booklets which are both informative and easy to follow and as per other recent LEGO releases this can be built by following the “App assisted building” on the LEGO Builder App.

Both Starfighters look superb, especially the Tie Interceptor which is my favourite piece of this kit, it’s attention to detail is exceptional and I really enjoyed building it. The Mandalorian Fang was also fun to assemble and will definitely appeal to fans of the TV Series. The mini figures are detailed and look great, especially the Mandalorian with Darksaber.

IThis set will no doubt appeal to any LEGO loving Star Wars fan and it has a lot of replay value. Both Starfighters could be used alongside the other Star Wars kits for some creative play and there’s plenty of possibilities. The build was challenging but very enjoyable and the attention to detail is commendable. I think the price is fair and would happily recommend it.

This is a box full of fun for any Lego / Star Wars fan. Obviously it would make an epic gift item!
There is a Tie Interceptor which is complicated enough to be satisfying (but not too difficult) to assemble.
As always the build instructions provided are beautifully clear and easy to follow in small stages.
The finished ship with its pilot inside really is a thing to behold, well worth the wait!
The Mandalorian’s ship is nice to have and looks good but is almost two dimensional compared with the Tie Interceptor, it is not as detailed or as solid.
The four included characters are great, even a tiny Darksabre is in the box as well as an imperial R2D2 unit.
There are nearly 1000 pieces in the box so with the Star Wars tie in the price is about what I expected it to be, I believe it is fair to say the Star Wars franchise has saved Lego from oblivion.
Is this a set made for children?
It really depends on your definition of “Children” personally everyone I know who would geek out over this is at best only a child mentally, physically we are nearly all pensioners!
Yet our partners would happily call us all children!
Personally I would happily give one of these sets to a child to enjoy, Lego is a journey all too few kids get to enjoy these days.
The fact both ships can actually fire tiny ordinance at each other in play is the give away that this really is a child’s plaything.
However I would quietly save up and buy a second one to hide away as an alternative investment!
    Happy to help

The built quality is good for the Lego pieces. A nice toy that kids love. I ordered it for my nephew and he is happily playing with it and testing his skills. Constructing is simple but small kids will probably need adult assistance. Once finished, it looks great. Perfect for Star Wars fans. Seems premium and durable to last longer.

Arrived well-packaged. The price is slightly expensive in my opinion.

Overall, satisfied with my order and will recommend.

Absolutely loved this build. The tie interceptor is one of my favourites from the franchise and it was great fun to build. The fang fighter was also a great build and having both in one set means great value for money. We also have the snug nose fighter and as a play set the 3 are fantastic fun and allow for great battles.

I got this set to test in the Vine program and I must admit that this set is almost perfect. The builds are pretty simple. Both ships are perfectly symmetrical, so experienced builders will find places to save time. The Interceptor looks amazing, and is very close to mini-figure scale. It is much bigger than the 2021 TIE Fighter but it scales very well with the 2018 TIE Fighter (pictured). Its only flaw is colour accuracy – there is a lot of noticeable dark grey on the exterior. I was not initially thrilled about the Fang Fighter, but it is better than expected, and the windshield looks nice. The cockpit is large enough to comfortably hold the Mandalorian pilot with his jetpack on. The mini-figures are mostly great, with the only flaw being the Mando mini-figure. Mando has been, and will continue to be, in plenty of sets. This would have been a great opportunity for any army-building character like a Stormtrooper, Mandalorian soldier, or even an Imperial droid of some kind. That would have made the set truly perfect, and would have added value to buying multiple sets. Overall, this is an awesome set, even with the flaws, and it would be great to get more sets like it.

Hope you find this review helpful.

This set captures the heart-pounding action of a space battle and brings it to life in an impressive display of LEGO craftsmanship. It was a blast to build!

The minifigures included in this set are fantastic. The level of detail on each minifigure is outstanding, with unique accessories and intricate designs. The starfighters themselves are masterfully designed and when put together both starfighters are decently sturdy and well-built, typical from what you’d expect from LEGO.

The construction process of this set was straightforward. LEGO’s instructions are clear and easy to follow, allowing builders of various skill levels to enjoy the building experience. Once completed, the set looks incredible. The starfighters are visually striking and make for an impressive display piece. The play features, such as the firing missiles and opening cockpits, add an interactive element that enhances the overall experience.

Whether you choose to display it or engage in exciting play scenarios, this set is sure to capture the attention of any Star Wars fan. It’s a fantastic set that both kids and adults will appreciate.

Never having owned a Star Wars Lego set, I was thrilled at the opportunity to review this. I’ve seen a few Star Wars movies, but have not delved into the universe so feel lucky to look at this set objectively.

In this set we have 2 impressively sized ships; the Mandalorian Fang Fighter and the TIE Interceptor. I remember the TIE Interceptors from the original Star Wars movies and this is the standout build in my opinion. It looks fantastic once finished and I love that the canopy opens in the front to reveal the pilot. This ship feels sturdy and well made. The Mandalorian Fang Fighter also looks great and has an impressive profile despite looking quite ‘flat’. It almost feels like detail on the underbelly is missing. Both ships fire spring loaded projectiles. My son was slightly disappointed to discovers these don’t fire out of the wings on the TIE Fighter as the box almost seems to suggest. In fact I think that looks pretty cool and would have been awesome even to have static laser beams for display purposes. Also included in the set are 4 minifigs. My son has absolutely loved battling these and they do make for great fun.

With an RRP of 89.99 for 957 pieces, this feels slightly expensive. The ships look good, have a lot of playability, but there’s not much else here. Understandably the bulk of the RRP consists of royalties. Overall it’s an impressive looking set but definitely worth holding out for a sale.

The instructions were clear. The build quality of this product is amazing. This set has so many pieces, It also comes with a good range of mini figures.
The finished details are great and is a good size also. However, the wings are held up by plastic tubes so I feel it could bend and permanently damage it. But other than that it’s lovely.
Ideal for an afternoon fun with the kids. Worth every part. I would recommend to all lego fans.

As always with lego, the products are pricey but you get the quality you pay for. Great intricate build on this set, would be a great gift for star wars fans or not!

This was a really fun LEGO set to build alongside my 9yr old nephew. For any Star Wars fan who is up to date with “The Mandalorian” TV show, you will know that Mandalorians play a big part of Season 3 with many battles on the ground and in the air and this set represents a Mandalorian Fang Fighter Vs an Imperial Tie-Interceptor with mini figures including Din Jarin himself with the Dark Sabre.

The set features two ships and is broken down into bags for each ship, each ship also has its own instruction book with the high quality pictorial instructions LEGO does so well. Building is straight forward for young to mature LEGO Builders, both very straightforward and importantly, fun to build. They are of good size as well so perfect for any display but the 89 price tag is very high, you do get two excellent Star Wars ships for that price but a lower price would have made this a must have…which to be fair it already is. A fantastic LEGO Set for any Star Wars fan, fun to build and it looks great as you can see in the photos, I had a great time building this with my nephew.

It’s interesting to see how Lego evolves, i.e. more moving parts and more innovative design.
This set is really impressive. Just to confirm, all parts are present, as they should be, and it has its fair share of fiddly small parts. This is definitely a set for those with plenty of patience and time. I would say the retail price of it does seem rather steep. I think you’d have to be a big Star Wars geek to think it’s worth not far off a hundred quid. Also, with sets like this, I think you’d have to dedicate a shelf or display cabinet for the sets once completed, given their price and how easily they come apart. Still, overall once this is constructed it is really cool and will definitely be a conversation piece for any fan.

price at time of review 89.99

Packaging is what you expect from the lego group, a well printed card box with very well done printing including images and the standard expected text.

inside there are 8 bags not 7 as the instructions would have you think but bags 7 and 8 are just the left and right of the same building stage. the instructions are again exctly what you would expect, well printed and clear images. my only negitive about the whole set is the amount of advertising they put at the start and end of the instruction books in modern sets but i guess thats just the time we live in

(the stands in the photo are not included, freely available to 3d print and are from printables.com by @MroznyHipis )

5.0 out of 5 stars my 1st lego starwars set and i was not disappointed

I absolutely love this Lego set and it will take all my strength not to completely geek out!

The set itself is fairly large, coming in at around 950 pieces and contains two models and four minifigs. The construction guides are clear and detailed, and everything is in small steps, so although there are around 150 steps to build the TIE Interceptor, you are only adding a few pieces per step. Because of this the kit should be buildable by novice as well as experienced builders, but the kit will need a few hours to construct.

For the models, I really love them both. The Mandalorian Fang is an interesting model, but it’s very flat, with most of the model close to its horizontal axis. Personally, I would have liked some moving parts or something pivoting to raise this model to a level of great rather than just good, but it is an interesting model and very different to other starfighters in the Star Wars universe.

The TIE Interceptor is the real star of the show here. I love the design of the TIE fighters and have done since I first saw them on screen, and the TIE Interceptor has always been a personal favourite of mine. I think the TIE interceptor model is simply stunning and I am really impressed with how good it looks.

The minifigs are interesting too. I love the TIE pilot (another favourite of mine from the Star Wars universe) and the execution of the minifig is great. The R2 astromech droid minifig occupies that strange area of looking cute yet menacing. The mandalorians are great minifigs too, and look the part with my other Mandalorian minifigs. I do like the detail they put into the printing on the Din Djarin figure, even down to the printing of the Mudhorn on the right arm. Its also good to see a Darksaber rendered in Lego.

In conclusion, I absolutely love this set. It has my favourite starship, my favourite Imperial troop type in it and one of the most important characters in it outside of the movies. Its taking all focus to not play with these things like I was a kid again!

5.0 out of 5 stars I absolutely love this set!!!

This is expensive but whether it’s worth it depends on whether your child likes Lego, Star Wars or how much the replay value of this will be.

The box is large and heavy and contains nearly 1000 pieces of Lego complete with all that’s shown.

My 10 year old son for hours of dedicated careful reading of the instruction and planning – building and then wonder, satisfaction and admiration at his finished spaceship he wanted to show and display and play with. Then he went on to build the other.

The finished Space ships are very nice to behold and quite weighty and hefty!

A Star Wars Abs Lego fan would want to add to the collection – which requires space in the house for storage and /or display and money as they’re not cheap.

A very very nice present for a child which will take careful consideration. In purchasing – whether it’ll have the replay value after being built being the main thing
And of course whether they’d actually build it

My son loves Lego and always has done – as soon as he builds something he keeps it built for a while then over time starts building his own ideas and things
He isn’t a star wars fan and knows nothing about star wars – but he was immediately attached to this and I know after completion he’ll Play with them then reconstruct in his own way .

    4/5

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Lego set - hours of fun - is it worth it?

It’s nice that this LEGO Star Wars set is aimed towards younger fans and is relatively easy to build, but I feel like it’s a tad overpriced for what you get. Although it wouldn’t be fair to compare it to the adult collectibles like the Star Destroyer or the Millennium Falcon or even a previous iteration of a TIE Interceptor (7181) which is significantly bigger, I don’t think the TIE Interceptor alone is worth it, and let’s be real, that’s the main attraction of this set. The Fang Fighter was okay, but nothing to write home about compared to the TIE. The Darksaber that the Mando comes with looks good, the other three figures are just ok. I would have preferred to see a pricier but more complex stand-alone TIE Interceptor (like this one, not the old blue ones) and had this as a slightly cheaper simple build playset.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersSo, any LEGO Star Wars geek (wear the badge with pride) will tell you it’s been years since the last TIE Interceptor was released; in fact so long ago that they were still in blue colouring. 2023 has been a good year for Minifig scale TIEs though, as we’ve had the Bomber and now the Interceptor has FINALLY returned – and it’s a nice model.

It’s a solid, good looking kit with easy-to-follow instructions, it can be comfortably put together in a couple of hours. No fiddly stickers this time. It’s a comparable scale with the TIE Bomber, and your shelf will happily fill with TIEs that go well together. It’s fairly solid, the only weak points being the cannons on the wing-tips – probably unavoidable if it’s going to look faithful enough.

The Interceptor comes as a twin pack – the first I can recall since the Star Wars: Rebels sets, featuring the A-Wing and Vader’s TIE Advanced – and the second ship is a Mandalorian Fang fighter. This is a surprisingly pleasing kit too, solid and sleek, and very easy to build. The only complaint is it’s a bit plain; in this case it probably needed a bit more character or detail to it, and make it a bit less “monochrome” but that’s not enough to count much against it.

So… the downrating, why only four stars? It’s a chunk of cash to pay out, particularly if your interest was only for the TIE to begin with. The Fang’s nice, but would it have been bought in great numbers as a standalone, who can tell. Buyers will be pleased enough with their ships, but might feel a bit burned by the price tag which I’d estimate is about ten quid overpriced for what you get.
