So much better than what the actual listing pictures look like! I am absolutely blown away and the quality is fantastic. Great bright colours and perfect size and shape!
I’m a nanny and look after a 14 month old little boy. His mum bought this set and I was immediately drawn to it! After playing with these little cups and balls today with the child, I immediately ordered a set for myself (as I look after other children too). They are really really versatile. We’ve used the cups with the balls as a set, and then added 4cm felt balls as well which fit really nicely in the cups. We’ve also hidden little treasures inside the closed cups (one cup inverted on top of another cup) which is very intriguing for the little boy as he likes lifting off the tops and discovering the treasures. We’ve made horse clopping sounds with two cups together. The balls fit into mini silicone cupcake cases, and the cases fit inside the cups. We’ve also used the balls separately with other toys, eg they fit inside wooden rings, and roll down his ball run. The balls will be great for wooden block ball run constructions too. The little cups can stack up on top of each other. So there’s loads of variety in the way you can play creatively with them. And we haven’t even started learning colours with them yet! They are obviously perfect for this. I would probably cut the set in half and just set out the primary and then thesecondary colors for colour teaching, and once he’s got that, I will add in the other colours, as there are a lot of different shades. We will also be doing colour matching with the balls and the cups, they would make a great game with the balls on one side, the cups on the other and getting children to match the correct colours together.
The paint finish is slightly variable – they’re all smoothly painted on the outside with a slight eggshell finish which is really nice – not too shiny, not too matt. Wipe cleanable. But the inside of some of the cups is left quite rough, with the result that the ball sticks in the cup. I had to sand 3 of them, which solves the problem completely, so no huge deal. It’s just attention to detail that could do with that little tweak.
Also I noticed that the product picture has been nicked from Grimms I think! because the Little Star cups and balls are slightly different. The Grimms ones are plain wood inside, the Little Star ones are painted inside. They are slightly different in size and shape too and the paint finish is different, no woodgrain showing through. So I think they need to put an accurate picture of the product on the listing. But actually I think I prefer the ones I got to the ones in the picture!!
Big big fan of these coloured balls and cups. My 5 month old is transfixed by them and they’re very versatile. I’m delighted with them and would happily purchase these again.
Fantastic and versatile open ended toy. We use the cups from feeding troughs for the animals to sorting containers and stacking. Great for colour matching with the balls. Balls we use for everything and anything: ball runs, sorting, pretend food, shaking in cups. I can see use just increasing as we get older (16 months now). The quality is superb, a lovely matt finish that feels nice and is very light. I will be buying the rest of the range over the next few years, happily choosing over other brands such as Grimm’s as Little star is much better value for money.

Really well finished balls and cups with good colour saturation.
Really good!! Colours are a tiny bit washed out but for the price I can’t complain considering the grapat ones are like 45 and you get less
Wish the inside of the cups had the colour as well but over all really good
I think this product is brilliant and can’t wait to see my grandson playing with it. I haven’t given it yet as it will be a Christmas present.
Simply beautiful! Really good quality and perfect for so many open ended play opportunities. Will be buying from this company again very soon!
