How do I use Wonder Water?
Wonder Water can be used 2-3 times a week. Apply directly to hair lengths after shampooing and leave for 8 seconds before rinsing thoroughly. Use conditioner after if your hair needs it. Blow dry for best results.
What is Lamellar technology & how does it work?
Lamellar Water is a breakthrough water-based technology. Moisturising agents and amino acids target only damaged areas of hair, temporarily ‘filling’ in holes to smooth hair’s surface, leaving it silkier and shinier without weighing it down.
Does Wonder Water work on all hair types?
Wonder Water works on fine to curly hair and is ideal for damaged, dry or frizzy long hair. It’s safe to use on colour treated hair. Use 1 dose if you have fine to medium hair, 2-3 doses for thick to curly hair, and 1 more dose for extra-long hair.

It’s brilliant and so quick to use. I have fine knotty hair and if I try and comb the knits out, out comes my hair so this is brilliant. It’s a game changer.
I bought this set as I change my hair colour often and with bleaching and dyeing it it can cause a bit of damage. This set I use religiously and it has improved the quality of my hair so much. My hair is much softer and tamed and I don’t, nor would I use anything else.
The 8-second treatment time is impressive, making it perfect for busy mornings or quick pampering sessions. It leaves my hair feeling noticeably smoother and more manageable.
I appreciate the lightweight formula, as it doesn’t weigh down my hair or leave any greasy residue. The convenience of a rinse-out treatment adds to its appeal.
While the results are impressive, I found that using the product too frequently can lead to slight build-up, affecting the hair’s natural volume.
In conclusion, the L’Oral Wonder Water 8 Second Hair Treatment is a time-saving solution for reviving hair texture and manageability. Its quick application and noticeable effects make it a valuable addition to any hair care routine. With a four-star rating, it’s a reliable option for those seeking a quick and effective hair treatment.
Run don’t walk to buy this product! I look and feel like I have gone to the hairdressers!! I have very very thick frizzy wavy hair and it now feels like silk. It’s been straight for 2 days and my split ends have all but disappeared. I paired this with the matching shampoo and conditioner. Amazing amazing amazing
This is the most amazing product I’ve ever bought. My hair is usually a nightmare after swimming in the sea/pool, especially if I’m scuba diving. It used to take me hours to brush my hair and now it’s 5min. Honestly if you have long hair and it likes to knot, buy this!
I have wavy hair which can get frizzy and since I no longer have time to style it this wonder water has been my saviour. I use a generous amount but my hair looks much shinier, soft and silky which makes it worth it!
Brilliant, I have very long hair (down to my hip bones), this makes my hair silky smooth again every wash. When you put it on it heats up aswell which is pretty cool, I use this along with regular condition from the sane brand.
This works so well as a detangler as well as leaving hair feeling soft. You don’t need a lot either and it’s not an oil so doesn’t feel greasy on your hair. It’s quite literally a water that you use and rub in to your hair, rinse and you’re done. Makes my hair feel less knotty after washing it to which is the big bonus. Good price anyway but often half price so grab a couple.
I have waist length hair which has started to dry out a bit and go frizzy due to peri menopause. I do use intense conditioners which are good but you have to leave them in for ages and they sometimes leave my hair feeling a little heavy.
This is more like a light oil which you apply to your hair after shampooing. I pour a few squirts into the palm of my hand and run it through all my hair, including my scalp and comb through. This instantly makes my hair feel slippery, so you can feel it working straight away. I leave on for a couple of minutes, then rinse out and I will follow with conditioner if needed.
I’m using the curly girl method, so I follow with a curl gel and leave my hair to air dry.
This makes my hair so soft, full, bouncy and shiny without weighing it down.
The shine I have is pretty phenomenal to be honest, I’m very impressed! My hair feels soft and nourished at the roots, where frizz and dryness was starting to become a problem and the lightness of the product doesn’t make my roots greasy. It’s helped tame my wild, meno hair, for sure!
It has a light, pleasant fragrance too.
I’m not sure I’d pay more than 6 for this though, it is pricey at full price unless you are happy to spend more on your hair products. Because I have very long, thick hair, this will probably last me a month, maybe 6 weeks.
Another bonus is it doesn’t make a mess of your bath or shower as there are none of the splodges you’d get with using conditioner.
I’d definitely recommend giving this a go.
This product is lovely. I was sceptical at first after reading reviews but everyone is different & have different experiences. So, I usually shampoo twice and use one of the scented Philip Kingsley Elasticizers. The Wonder water takes the softness and gloss on my hair to a new level. I am so pleased I took a chance & bought this at 5. I only use a small amount on my shoulder length hair so one bottle will last ages & I didn’t have a problem dispensing it. I will def keep on using this. Five *****
I have only used this one so far… I have really long natural white grey hair that’s a bit frizzy so was looking for something different to try as I have been using pantene for many years.
The smell is pretty strong but I found it pleasant and after 3 days my hair still smells nice. I did actually apply it all over my hair, I didn’t read the instructions that states you should only apply to the ends, but it is very light weight, it easily rinced out, and my hair was left clean and fresh without any obvious residue. It dried well and was a little more shiny and did feal silky smooth. I didn’t straighten my hair as I know some products with a straightener on grey can stain the hair yellow, but I may try it next time I wash it. Nice alternative to my usual brand, I would buy it again.
Love this product, this is my third order, after initially trying the general one. Love the colour one, keeps colour bright and sharp, and leaves hair in wonderful condition. Highly recommended
Pros:
it does make my hair feel softer
helps detangle my frizzy hair
very quick – works in literally 8 seconds!
Cons:
I find it awkward to apply in the shower – you are to squeeze it out straight onto the lengths of your hair but because it’s thin (like water) I can’t really tell if it’s going on my hair or if I’m wasting it
I have to use a lot to feel it work on my hair (more than the marked doses on the side of the bottle). If you have long or thick hair you’ll probably find you need at least 3 doses
it does warm up very briefly when it starts to work, I don’t have sensitive skin but it did cause a reaction when I accidentally got some on my neck
So to summarise; I would buy again when on offer but I feel like it doesn’t add anything to my hair routine that I don’t already get from my leave in conditioner.
Smells amazing. While in shower doesn’t seem to do anything but oh my! My hair is wrecked from home bleach and dyeing and was feeling dry crispy and coarse. It needed some major tlc despite using oplex. One application of this followed by dream lengths conditioner and my hair is soft, straight, fizz free and completely different. Wonder water? More like miracle worker! Can’t believe it, nothing has worked like this before. For drug store price, it does a better job than high end product. I will say it’s worth investing in a clarifying shampoo because I think you will get product build up but it’s a risk I’m willing to take. My hair smells so good I want to eat it and no itching, just soft out of the salon like hair. Definitely a new staple in my shower routine. Yes it’s an extra step but only eight seconds for manageable rescued hair. Well done L’Oral!
I have found similar issues with other products in the Elvive range, like the long hair conditioner, which comes in a squeezy bottle, making it really difficult to control how much you get out.
It’s a good product and I do like the results but I just wish the bottle was more practical
I have waist length dredlocks, with loose undreded hair at front, which can make washing may hair difficult. As the loose hair requires washing more regularly and conditioning, which my dredlocks dont.
My hair can be quite dry and brittle, as I often use straightens on it. So I wanted a product that would repair and condition without costing the earth, considering I am only using it on a small portion of my hair and have to buy other products for my locs. I decided to buy this product after seeing it advertised and reading positive reviews. It is also very reasonably priced. It smells great and is easy to apply too my loose hair, whilst my locs are out of the way in a large shower cap. After drying and styling, my hair is noticeably softer and smoother and the lovely scent lingers, for a long time after. I would definitely recommend this product, to anyone looking for a cheap but effective treatment for dry or damaged hair.
The writing on the bottle was straining my eyes so gave up but did manage to read that you put it on at the end of washing and conditioning your hair (while it is still wet) and then leave it on for 3-5 minutes. I left it on for about 3 minutes and then rinsed it off really well.
It did not make my hair feel soft at this point and I was a bit sceptical as it also didn’t make my hair feel like it was tangle free at all. I do not use a comb or brush on my hair when it is wet as it will cause split ends but I did try and run my fingers through my hair and it half worked. When my hair was dry enough but not completely dry I used a comb and got the knots out and then when my hair was dry completely I used a hair straightener and I must say my hair looked better than it has looked in a very long time. I have used the same shampoo and conditioner for a long time so it was the only product I have tried on my hair that as different so I can 100% say it was this wonder water that made it look different. It felt lighter and was more shiny than usual.
Another thing I would point out that I didn’t like was there is no way of pouring it out unless you cut the top of the lid which I was not happy doing so I just lifted off the lid and put some in the palm of my hand and then rubbed it into the ends of my hair and then a bit more all over my head and then rubbed it in gently. I think I would transfer this into a different container with a squirty lid or an old shampoo bottle. I used about 30ml so I am not sure at this rate how long this is going to last me but I am happy I bought it and I will add to this review once I get my daughters opinion of it too as she has very curly unmanagable hair and tends to be dry. If this helps with her hair this will be a bonus.
This stuff is amazing. I have very thick hair that is difficult to tame into submission and only looks acceptable if hot ironed and blow dried etc.
Gave this stuff a try on the off chance it would help and I am in love. My hair looked almost acceptable just after blow drying and if I wasn’t so vain I could have left it there and not straightened it! Better still it was just as good the next day and is silky and smooth. Usually only looks like this when I go to the hairdresser. Will be buying again and again.
Re the heat: it does get quite hot but I followed another users advice and put the 20ml in a bowl and dunked the ends in, rubbed the stuff in and rinsed it out.
Also the price on Amazon seems to go up and down at the moment so some days it’s half the price of others. If your wanting to try it, it’s worth watching then price for a few days to get a bargain.
I have soft fine bleached hair my daughter has thick strong hair, dark but damaged in places, she really rated this and felt it made her hair lovely and soft, I didn’t think it made any difference to mine, I like the smell though. I have bought a second bottle, more for my daughter and I will try it again.
I don’t like the idea of it in my skin, it has such a strong smell, I can understand why some reviewers have said it has burnt them, it hasn’t me but for most of the time I use it with my head tipped over the bath. ( It had not been a problem on my skin or my daughters by the way)
Basically you wash your hair as usual then massage this into the lengths and rinse out. The scent is somewhat weird but I actually like it.
There are markings on the outside of the bottle so you can see how much to use which is a bit faffy but ok. Only apply to your hair lengths not the roots, and massage in then rinse out. You can then condition if needed.
The 1st time of use I dried and straightened as usual but didn’t see any difference. I’ve since tried again using more of the product, and realised that I’d not used enough previously. This time after I’d dried and straightened my hair it was lovely and silky smooth. You have to straighten your hair to benefit and see the difference in my opinion.
I paid 10 quid for my bottle and with enough to do roughly 8 washes if your hair isn’t very long, it’s not going to last very long. That said the price is now half what I paid at around 5 so I may consider buying again.
