Purchased to place under spin dryer to stop it going on walkabout. Found that this mat completely solved the problem and also has cut down on the noise. Overall I am well pleased with the product and the delivery was great also
I can sit in the kitchen while the wahsing machine is on now. Made a massive difference to vibration and noise. Wish I’d got it ages ago instead of using sponges!
Did the job.
Previously tried individual feet to stop the noise and vibration but didn’t work.
This mat was much easier to place and seems to have done the trick.
Absorbs the worst of the vibrations from my machine as old house and floors not level. Okay but not as effective as I had hoped for.
Noise levels:
At max speed, the washing machine was previously at 86dB according to a random app I installed and was fairly unbearable to be in the same room with. It’s now around 74dB which while I the numbers don’t sound like a huge improvement, it seems vastly improved to my ears and I’m sure it keeps the neighbours happier.
Fitting it:
I found that the best and safest approach for the floor when getting it in place was to polish the floor and place cardboard under the mat to reduce some friction which worked with ease. I’ve left the cardboard under as it doesn’t walk around and will make life easier getting it out when it needs replacing.
The mat does feel very firm, but it’s certainly done the job
Bought for Bosch washer and tumble dryer that are on a laminate floor/ floorboards. The washer moved during the spin cycle when loaded with large bath towels/ mixed wash. The mat has stopped the machine moving and reduced vibration. The machines are sat directly on mats which are under a work top. It was difficult to slide the mat and the machine under the worktop but I managed to slide both machines in. The worktop prevented lifting the machines into position. Others recommend using slats to slide the machine onto the mat or fitting and a plywood panel over the mat. I don’t know if the washing machine feet will eventually work through the rubber crumb however it should be relatively easy to insert a plywood panel if required. Happy so far.
I do believe that with the matting there is if nothing else, an added stability to the washing machine.
I also had one for the tumble dryer, but I think with walls that are not as walls these are days, you can buy all you want, but it won’t effect the drone of tumbling when you wafer thin walls.
Even the most newest models with the lastest tech in the appliances, it can’t lessen the sound these machines make because of the nature of their operation.
But again, I do feel they offer stability during the cycles and are great to pull the machines out from their positions…. The catch there is pushing them back on lino!!!! That’s quite an art form.
Returned the mat as it wasn’t big enough. Plus the machine was sent back as it had been damaged upon delivery.
I bought this as we had a quooker tap installed and the vibration from the cube tank was vibrating through my breakfast bar. It was so loud I was considering getting rid but thought I’d try this mat first. I can’t believe the difference it’s made – I can’t even hear any vibration noise at all now. Really pleased!
his was bought not for a washing machine but to cut up into smaller pads to mask vibration for tv/audio equipment which were vibrating on a wooden shelved tv unit . i cut 2×2 inch squares and used them at each corner of my sky q box , av receiver and blu ray player the vibration has completely stopped . i cannot vouch for the pad for a washing machine but it does work for vibration damping on tv/audio equipme
The matt is made from some sort of ultra durable padded rubber, it is bigger than my washing machine base and is thicker than expected, it takes the weight of my washer and dryer easily which is a real positive for me.
The washer/dryer still vibrate the house, but not to the extent of before, the washer still rocks slightly but nowhere as bad as it used to.
If you are looking for a aid but not a full solution then this is a definite purchase for you.
