Great pump, easy to use and clean. Love the Bluetooth application!
Downside- no lid for cups so easy to spill!
– cord would be great if hangs round neck
– you cannot lock the screen so when mobile you can change the buttons
Me and my son spent several days in hospital where I used the Medela hospital breast pump and I can confirm that the Medela hands-free pump I bought works even better. However, it did take me awhile to figure out one detail which is key. If you’re pumping from just one breast, you’ve got to make sure you plug the hole on the other one otherwise the suction won’t work!
Superb product, works very well, worth every penny. Pros far outweigh the cons, every bit as good as the hospital grade pumps for 1k+
Cons –
you can’t bend over (to pick something up) while wearing as they will spill.
The App is not great but that’s a minor thing, I didn’t buy it for the app and it’s not required.
If it came with a second set of cups it would be great as it’s a pain having to clean and sterilize after each use as I’m expressing every 4 hours for twins.
Very easy to use, no pain.
The only minus it has is that if you like to transport the milk in the cups it will leak, apart from that is a very good pump.
Love these for storing breastmilk. Agree with other reviews about the lid. I have the original lid that came with the breast pump and it’s much better than these ones however they are so you can use them as bottles as well as for storing breastmilk.
Brilliant pump. My supply has increased steadily, easy to clean, comfortable to use and convenient as usable on the go. It is a little on the loud side but my baby never wakes up if I’m using it close to her and you get used to the sound. Absolutely transformed my breastfeeding journey and can’t recommend highly enough.
Pros:
– I can easily multitask whilst pumping so huge time-saver
– More comfortable than my handheld pump
– Easier to use as nipples just stay in one place rather than slipping as per handheld pump
– Very quick to wash and sterilise
– Good yield!
Cons:
– Expensive compared to other hands free pumps (though I’ve not used any others to compare quality/ yield).
– You can’t tell how much you’ve made until taking them off (though would be same for all hands free pumps).
Altogether well worth it for me – I pump 4 times a day often while feeding the baby via bottle and its made pumping mentally and practically much easier.
I was impressed that even if dropped there is no scratch on the surface of these bottles. No issues after putting them in the freezer either.
But I really dislike these yellow lids and prefer the orange lids I have had previously on my medela bottles for storing breastmilk.
They are same as the ones that come with my medela pump. I bought more as I wanted to few more to store my milk. They’re very easy to use. The only thing I don’t get is why the lids can come apart – they do come apart quite easily. May need to do a little research about that!
Decent sized bottles, easy to clean and come with caps. I have been using with the Medela Swing pump which they fit well. Teats not included.
The cap has a circular disc in the centre, which can be removed to allow for teats to be inserted. It would be useful for teats to be included too though rather than having to purchase separately.
If teats are purchased (along with some lids) then there’s no reason why the bottles can’t be used as standalone bottles as they are a good travel size.
What you would expect from the bottles. Haven’t actually used them to feed my baby only used them to pump. Easy to use but make sure you have a bottle sponge or cleaner because they can be on the harder side of cleaning.
Really happy with this product, easy to clean and makes milk storage more organised. Really useful to buy more than one pack as they are only available at 150 ml so for mums storing more milk it would be useful to have more
Needed some more bottles for my Medela hand pump and the Flex Swing Electric pump. Bottles are easily compatible with both systems and screw in as expected. Very pleased – looking forward to pumping a little easier/quicker.
I bought these to store milk in rather then using disposable bags. Sturdy but lightweight and don’t take up much space in the fridge at all. Very easy to clean, delighted with my purchase.
Well made bottles, fit into my pump perfectly. Comes with the new style two piece lids which I’m not a fan off, getting the disc into the lid can be a bit of a faff and the clip fit isn’t particularly secure.
Very handy. Especially the fact that you can invert one of the basic teats under the lid and the bottle won’t leak – no need to store in a sealed bag for this reason!
Ofcourse everything medela is expensive but its a trustworthy brand for me (bar the teat gizmo) 9 years of using this brand, having the breast pump means using these bottles for it. It has clear markings, made of good strong plastic, good size and shape. No nonsense really. Overall good item.
Perfect for me, the slow Medela teats that fit in these bottles were far too fast, even for my 4 month old. I discovered that the Dr Browns preemie teats fit perfectly and he’s happily gone from bottled breastmilk to breastfeeding and back and forth ever since! Even now at 6 months he’s still happy on the preemie. Just wish these bottles came with the pumps, instead of the calma, which my little one HATED!
Happy with the bottles..
Although it’s a bit frustrating that you don’t get a lid for the bottle, I brought the teats too and then realisedthere are no lids for bottle, it didn’t come with the teats or actual bottle… I would have imagined they would come with the bottles
They are great , they are so simller to preemie dr browns my Son always had a issue with it but now all problems are sorted 🙂 it it a bit hard to wash.them but they are great in tally
You get what you pay for!! I love Medela.
You do need to be careful with boiling water as bottles can slightly miss shape if you put cap on too early. Its the heat pressure. But quick run under boiling water and they go back into shape.
Easy to clean
Don’t go cloudy
Lovely size to hold
I bought these extra bottles to have on hand. They are just your typical Medela bottles, the reason for only 4 stars is mainly down to the odd design of the lids. I have the older style bottle also and the lids on those are just 1 piece and much easier when it comes to cleaning and moving parts around.
I’m very pleased with these bottles, which are a good size and compatible with the Medela Swing Maxi pump. They wash and sterilise well and fit into the changing bag nicely.
Reading the negative review above: these bottles are NOT suitable to store in the freezer – this is clearly written on the instruction manual included!
I have found these the most useful bottles on the market, mainly due to their size. Whilst this isn’t a full milk feed, I find half sizes are enough for mid morning & afternoon, therefore these slim bottles are perfect. The tops have a cap for transport and fit the Medela thin teats (different flow rates available). Wash and clean beautifully. Still in excellent condition after daily use for 8 months.
Pro – convenient size, easy to transport, wash, last for many months due to replacing teats for new speeds as baby able to tolerate it.
Con – a little fiddly to invert the teat inside the lid & cap for transport, but you quickly get the knack.
Thoroughly recommended.
Excellent bottles but not so keen on the tops. Would have been better to have the original screw top that comes with the medula swing pump and bottle. The tops are weird with a screw outer and then another inner flat circle that could easily get lost or if picked up by a baby or small child-they could choke. A strange choice for a baby’s bottle. There must be a reason for this type of bottle top but I’ve not worked it out yet.
best price i could find them, they were brilliant for sorting my expressed milk in the fridge and was very clear to see how much i had expressed
i would tip some of the milk into a different bottle before heating as i couldn’t stand the thought of trowing any left over milk away after the feed, a least you can see how much you have put in the other bottle and heat more up if needed.
these also screw on to the Medela pumps
Love these bottles, great price and lovely to hold while feeding baby. Easy to carry around and store in changing bag unlike the large bottles that are out there. Plus they look lovely, clean and fresh due to the subtle colour of yellow. A must buy for newborns as they are not large and heavy with milk in. A bonus is because im breastfeeding I feel more comfortable using these bottles in public because it symbolises breatfeeding with the medela symbol located on the bottle.
Does what it says on the tin, so to speak! These bottles fit your Medela pump and come in handy when the one that came with it is being washed up, or in the fridge or the steriliser (actually we don’t generally sterilise them, as the hospital told us there was no need to sterilise breast milk bottles, just wash with hot soapy water). I’m not entirely sure I see the point of being able to take the top circle of the lid out, as I (and I’m sure most other people) just decant the milk into a feeding bottle anyway. The lids do clip together securely so they don’t bother me by falling apart all the time. They are a little bit expensive for what they are I suppose, but they do the job and if you’re pumping regularly they will come in really handy.
