Great for 3 year olds. Cover is too loosely fitted (& blutack is hardly a satisfactory solution). Box can be rattled to allow insertion of all the impressively solid & chunky wooden shapes – which I would have liked to have been itemised (i.e. parallelogram, cuboid, pentagon, hexagon, quatrefoil etc.) On balance: superb item – highly recommended.
Very good educational toy product for toddlers. My one and half year daughter is enjoying with this. Recommend
I bought for Christmas for my young granddaughter she absolutely loved i
Smaller than I thought it would be but seems to be well made and sturdy. A present for our 19 months old grandson.
a very cool cube for child development. the quality is super. I recommend thank you amazo
I bought this shape sorter and stacking toy for my 1 year old grandson for when he comes to my house there are lots of bits with it he loves the colours and shapes. Nice quality item .
We were lent one of these by a childminder and baby loves it so much that I had to buy her one of her own! She’s starting to make connections between where the shapes and colours line up, and where the blocks should go (I mean she still needs a little help to actually slot the blocks through the holes but that’s fine, she’s 13 months). This shape sorter is a definite favourite and I’d recommend it for anyone with a curious and busy little baby. And yes, it’s tough enough to stand up to gnawing as well as general use.
These products are generally great value and a well made product in terms of longevity/durability. This is no exception. I received a video of my nephew unwrapping the cube and continuing to try and put the shapes in the spaces designed for them. I’d share it here but I think my sister would have something to say about that!
Got this for our 9 month baby. He loves removing the shapes out and also taking all the block out of the box.
Unfortunately the box had splinters whe i opened it on it. I have had to sand and then paint the outer box. Not what you expect to do.
Item needs Improveme
It’s great when little one is in the mood for it.
The box should open on a blank side… not on a side with shapes cut out. My little one just opens it and puts them in.
Excellent concept to help little ones with colours and shapes. My 13 month firstly just enjoyed putting the shapes in the top and after a month had mastered all the shapes in the right places. He still enjoys it and is helping him understand shapes too. Highly recommend, hours of entertainment!
I have ordered this toy for my 15 months old baby. And I just realised that she is a bit younger to play this toy. The product is simple and nice. The quality is fair enough. But the size of box is very small it should be a big box in such price.
Love wooden toys and this one is pure and simple. Good quality, lovely vibrant coloured blocks and toddler enjoys playing with it and stacking the shape blocks too, however some of the shapes are a bit obscure when trying to teach a toddler their shapes! I don’t think my two year old will remember what a trapezoid or octagon is!
It seems decent quality and having had it for a year now with a fair amount of chewing of shapes, it has stood up to use quite well (haven’t noticed the paint issue). The only downside for me is the design. My child is only just starting to use it properly (18 months) but one of the first things he discovered was how to remove the sliding top. All this means is that when he’s getting frustrated with it he just removes the lid and puts then straight in, bypassing the activity altogether… I would probably buy a different design if buying again, though this might be down to age/personality.
Great toy. My toddler loves it and it will continue to grow with her as she learns colours, counting and shapes. A few of the shapes were slightly stuck together when it arrived and ai had to pull them apart leading to some damage to the paint on some pieces.
I purchased this for my 17 month old back in May and it has been a massive hit since it arrived! A month later and he has learnt which shapes go where and it is definitely one of his favourite toys. There is a lot of potential with the toy as it helps to teach motor skills, shape sorting, colours and counting. It is also very well made with safe rounded edges, I’d definitely recommend this toy to anyone looking for a good quality shape sorte
Great toy to keep my 1yr old occupied.
I noticed the tabs on the rings holding the balls in place made it difficult for the balls to fall when hit with the hammer. Even as an adult, I was having to use full force to hammer the balls through because they kept popping back up.
In the end I trimmed down the tabs and the balls now fall with 2 light hits. Alternatively if you don’t want your toddler using the hammer then remove the ring altogether and let the balls fall when placed in the hole.
We got this for our 18 month old who is at the right stage for shape-sorting. This item does get quite a lot of attention from him but the shapes are much too advanced and he requires considerable assistance. That’s said, he still enjoys it and we often help him with it. An issue is that the removable panel doesn’t stay in place very well at all
I was super excited for this toy even though I did read the comments and saw few pictures that should changed my mind from ordering but I ordered it anyways.
I bought this as a birthday present for my baby boy, he didn’t play with it with the hammer as he is too young to understand how it works but he pushes the balls with his hands and yet it couldn’t last for even half a day 🙁 the wood is actually good quality but if you’re thinking of buying this product maybe you should order a gorilla glue with it as well because nothing a glue can’t fix
An update : I changed my rating from 2 starts to 4 starts because my baby actually loves it. He plays with this toy all the time not a day goes by when he doesn’t play with it. I honestly think it’s worth the price and its a good quality because he pangs it, stand on, use it as a seat and torture this toy yet it’s still not broken and I couldn’t be happier.
I bought this for my 20 month old child and he loves it. As toys go, it’s comfortable enough for him to lift, and present to me to open up for him to play with. It rolls over easily so he can turn it around to find the corresponding holes. He’s learning quickly which shapes go into which holes and it’s bright and colourful and fun. I’ve nkt noticed any problems with the paint or finish quality. My only comment for improving it, is the stopper in the top. It’s plastic and needs an adult to open or close it by forcing it on. This lid stopper piece also has a semi circle hole which is for one of the shapes. I actually think this is superfluous, my son doesn’t quite appreciate that it’s part of the design and gets quite frustrated when I put the stopper back on to allow him to put the shape in. It doesn’t really fit with the rest of the design in that regard, so he’s confused where the last piece goes. His logic makes sense. Either put the final hole at the bottom in the wood, or don’t hsbe it at all.
I bought this for my son’s first birthday. He enjoys playing with it. I find the quality fine despite what some may have said in their reviews. There are no chips to the wooden box of blocks and all blocks have a good even coat of paint on them. The blocks fit well through the holes they’re supposed to. The lid does slide in and out easily. Some people have noted this as a criticism but I find it good as my son would struggle with a stiff lid. I’ve never seen it bother him that it’s so easy to remove. If the blocks fall out… sure, more fun putting them back!
Anyhoo… I like this and thought it was good value. The one I have has no problems and on that basis I’d recommend it.
Got this for our baby’s 1yr old birthday. He really loved it and loved putting all sorts of other toys in it to experiment with. So he is learning about physics. He tried putting them in from the top, from the side, tilting it, etc. Initially he was just pushing the balls in with his hands, but 1month later he finally learnt to use the hammer, and really enjoyed that. Now he’s also experimenting with different tools as hammer.
Also he is drawn to the loud noises of balls going down it, hence it is a good toy to use to distract him with when he is up to no good.
The toy however does have some rough edges. The round holes are not properly sanded off, so maybe not very suitable for delicate babies. My baby liked putting his hand inside the holes, and got scratched a few times. However he didn’t seem bothered by that.
