Great hit with my family, my son is Fortnite obsessed so he was bound to love it but I didn’t expect his 89 year old great grandmother to enjoy it just as much!!
Really liked playing this, (not just because I won every time ) we play a lot of games, this makes monopoly a bit more fast paced and adds interest for the kids.
Got this for my boyfriend for his birthday. He loves both LOTR and monopoly, and made me watch the movies when we first started dating, we also play monopoly quite a bit (board game dates are fun and free!) so when i saw this i knew he would it – and winning it too!
You have to read the rulesquite a bit on the first round as there are new componants of the game in this edition (you get a ring of power to put on your character which makes you invisible to paying rent and to jail) but its pretty easy to pick up! I’m not great at monopoly and it was just the two of us playing so it only lasted around an hour, but i can see that it could last much longer if youre more determined reach Mount Doom!
Also arrived in perfect condition!
This was a gift, but I got to see it. Full of original Stranger Things takes on the old board game, including the currency. The Stranger Things fan that received this was very happy.
Bought for my 6 year old nephew who is a huge Mario fan and like to get involved in a game of monopoly. This is more simple than the regular game and great for a Mario fan!
Great game which is very involved. Character pieces are lovely, Real strategy need to win. We play with ages 8 to 70 and you need to concentrate. So much more than buying property’s. The ring is great and whole game good quality. Very happy with purchase.
I bought this as a gift for friends & was lucky enough to play it with them – it was brilliant! This version of the game is a lot more simple than the original Monoply (there’s less money to contend with) & we loved the addition of the sound effect Question Block. Perfect for a family or if you love Mario or even if you’ve never been a fan! It was great fun & would love to play again!
Creates a good family friendly vibes, Educates children that in the real world there are winners and losers, but it’s far more important to get involved be part of something. First played best with adults for guidance and understanding of the rules. Suitable for children 5plus with adults guidance. All in all healthy fun and bante
This is a great game easy to set up a bit hard to get to grips with all the rules but we have had hours of fun playing it my 8 year loves stranger things so she was really happy getting this from santa
Very expensive for the quality. Not a touch on the original monopoly. Cheaply made.
This is great fun compared to the standard monopoly. The board is great and there are a couple of additional rules to consider. The cards are so good and…very evil for others making the game more entertaining and fast paced.
The negative: The box doesn’t have slots to hold your hard-cardboard made coins or property cards while playing. The coins can be easily lost and may get disorganised but what a actually affects gameplay, is that a few of the character pieces are very hard to distinguish as they don’t have anything easily visible to tell who is who as it’s plain metal.
It is good that the pieces are solid and the inclusion of the ring & ring rules are what makes the game different overall. Owning the ring can benefit you so much but the Eye of Sauron can change your game a lot if you either roll it on the dice or advance with the Eye of Sauron piece.
Recommended, great fun.
This was purchased as a secret santa gift for a work colleague who said its the best thing he’s ever had bought for him in his life lol. Delivery was actually a day earlier than advised which was great.
My niece’s face when I gave her this was sheer joy. She’s loved playing monopoly for years, after having discovered cheating from a very young age Like many young people, she’s mad about Stranger Things and subjects us to Kate Bush and quizzes us about our top 3 favourite characters endlessly. I say all this in jest, but I really do love spending time playing this game with her and listening to her open up about the things she cares about it finds interesting. So for me personally, this game was not only value for money, but value for quality time, fun and discussion.
If you love stranger things and monopoly, this is the game for you! It is more fun with a larger group, we played with two and found it easier to win against Vecna! With a group it’s more of a fun challenge.
Bought this for my daughter who is a stranger things fan who was completely unaware of monopoly in the original sense but with a stranger things overlay it was now a must buy she adores plus it gets the family together to play regardless of the outcome still a great game fast delivery really pleased with my purchase .
Arrived on time, more fun if it’s more than two players, board quality was good. No issues.
I brought this game for my 7year old son who loves playing monopoly and also loves Mario.
We played the game today, and my son loved it. The question mark block which you press, had it in for me. I kept getting either bowsers laugh or game over tune. My son got the coin ping and power up. He thought it was hilarious.
This version of Monopoly has been a big hit and he can’t wait to play again . I fully recommend Super Mario Monopoly.
Once you get your head around the changes in the rules it’s easy to get into. The quest cards (chance/chest) are very entertaining and give the game an extra bit of excitement. The secret quests are definitely something to look out for as they can change the game in a second and some are down right evil.
The Lord of the Rings version is fantastic fun for fans of both monopoly and Lotr. There are extra bits ans tricks to the game compared to normal monopoly making if arguably more fun!
One down side is it can be a little complicated to follow for people that maybe are not fans of lotr.
This is an amazing version. Apart from being LOTR themed which by itself is awesome, the game element with the ring makes it a lot more strategic. You can choose to play without the ring too so it’s just regular monopoly. 10/10.
Lovely products and well to add to my Monopoly collectio
My partner is a massive fan and I just know this game will bring out lord of the ring loving family lots of fun, maybe an argument or two, but definitely lots of fu
From what I’ve seen I like this. I have tried the game out using 2 characters (both played by myself, leading to a few restarts, lol) You get 9 tokens – the 9 members of the fellowship (I could have done with the names of the hobbits, Boromir and Aragorn stamped into the bases, but that’s just a nit pick) Instead of chance (16) and Community Chest (16) you get 32 quest cards. Houses/Hotels are now Outposts/Forteesses respectively. Spaces are Middle Earth places, utilities are replaced by Blade and Hilt of Narsil and Morgul Blade, Sting, Bow and Staff replace the railroads. Ring Wraith (2M) and Gollum (1M) are the tax squares. A standard set up so far. The final components are the one ring; Neither metal nor real, lol; and the tracker. On the board are 1m, 2m, 4m, 8m, 16m and Mount Doom. The tracker goes on Start and the ring bearer and at the beginning of his turn, before the roll of the dice, the Ring Bearer moves the tracker onto the next square. Lose the ring by rolling a Saurons Eye (which replaces the 1 on the dice) and you pay the price you’re on and the tracker moves to the start again. Get it all the way to Mount Doom and the Ring Bearer pockets 15M and the game ends. As the Ring Bearer you don’t pay rent, go to jail (apart from getting a quest card that instructs you to) and if you keep the ring long enough you collect 4m instead of 2m for passing go. All in all it’s a fun game
Love this version of monopoly! It’s quite complicated to understand so I’d recommend playing a dummie version whilst reading the instructions as we understood it a lot more that way!
I wouldn’t recommend playing with 2 players you need at least 3 players to get the full effect of this game. If there’s just two of us we don’t use the ring or the Eye as it ends the game quite quickly!
But it’s such a great game once you understand the rules properly I highly recommend this version!
This is so fun! I don’t normally like Monopoly, but got this for my boyfriend as he loves LOTR and its brilliant! Much more fun than normal Monopoly. The addition of the Ring makes it more competitive and the pieces and board are good quality. Would definitely recommend this.
This is a great version of monopoly, and depending how your gaming fate goes it can be a quick game or a long one. We played this recently with friends and we all really enjoyed it – we ended up doing 4 games.
The extra challenge of trying to keep the ring and get to mount doom was clever as the ring can give you immunity to paying rent or going to jail etc. You can challenge people for the ring or it can be lost depending on the dice. There was also some sneaky secret quest cards that when revealed turned the game around and caused drama (lighthearted of course). I dont think we would play it with our boys as there may be tantrums lol.
Great gift for tolkien fans who like playing board games.
I have the other version of this game (from several years ago) and this is almost like a completely different game! Cards are used in different ways, and there is only one type (quest card) as opposed to two in the original, and most other monopoly games. The other main difference is that your token can wear the ring and it gives them perks – but can also be their downfall if they lose it after too many turns (can cost a lot of gold!)
As a huge Lord of the Rings fan, I had to get this! But I think that casual LotR fans and/or monopoly fans would also enjoy this!
