Good quality, well made, easy to wire up, simple to screw to the wall. No problem setting the sensor range and timings.
Takes a standard European E27 screw fitting light bulb.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought 3 of these to update my outside lighting and took the opportunity to renew the wiring.
The lights themselves are quite good quality and look good.
I found that the connector block inside the light to be inferior and poor quality. It grips the wire by pressure only, it is not a screw connection which it should be.
I changed the connector block in each light to a screw connector block ( old fashioned type ) which is far more secure.
Apart from this it is a decent light.

I was disappointed that the light bulb was not supplied and it is not quite as bright as I expected. The light does not come on until I wave my hand in front of the sensor. A bit tricky and fiddly to fit the light.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersWhile it works fine, it is fiddly to install and there is no adjustment to move the triggering path downwards.
Only a problem to us, as our drive slopes down to the house, so it triggers when people walk past on the pavement.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersHad my 1st PIR light in the early 80’s from RS and it was still working OK when we move house 15 years later. Our current house has a garage and parking drive at the bottom of the garden. For a number of years now we have had a PIR lantern by the front door and three eyelid PIR’s in the back garden to illuminate our normal passage into the house. Since the streetlamp by our drive was changed to LED it does not illuminate our drive very well. I decided to mount a PIR lamp over the garage door. I am now on my 4th light. The 1st was a LED floodlight which after 3 months failed. Only a small number of the LED chips illuminated, and the rest were dim or totally dead. The next lamp was a contained bulkhead fitting and after a few months this started to fail with the resulting light flickering and very dim. I wanted to buy to a lamp that had a replacement bulb like all my others, so I purchased a white eyelid light from Amazon. This lasted 2 days and then failed. On inspection in daylight, I found that the PIR was full of water/condensation. Hence the purchase of this lamp. the first problem with this lamp was that the lens has to be levered off with a screwdriver (very frightening although it is polycarbonate)). One of the lights leads had broken off from the back of the fitted connecter block and being a once only push fit connecter I had to change the block for one I fortunately had in stock. The setting up was OK but the sensibility adjustment appeared not to work. No matter it’s setting the PIR picked up everything, including my neighbours in their drive across the road. I eventually sorted it out by trial and error with pieces of black PVC tape placed strategically on the PIR lens. I will have to see how long this unit lasts as at 78 I am losing the will to live.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBefore purchasing this item I asked Amazon reviewers if it would work above a door. people thought it would and I even had a sarcastic response ‘derr yes’. It doesn’t!!! It has to be positioned at eye line or lower to pick up motion. There is no angle to the sensor at all. That said, it seemed to work properly when tested and it looks nice so can’t fault it otherwise.

We bought this because it is exactly like the one we had for 17 years – a no frills light that does the job you want it for. Following the demise of the other one we bought a more attractive sensor lamp which lasted only 13-months, sadly outside it’s guarantee time. So we have gone back to this plain one and now we don’t even notice it on our garage and it does the job of lighting up our drive efficiently as we come home. It is true the local cats light it up but so does my neighbour’s, it is a fact of all sensor lights. I am trusting this will last 17 years like the last one.

he wires coming out of the wall are as usual measuring about 4″ in length, and need to be put through the rubber ring of the light back plate which in turn need to be screwed into the electric coupler of existing wires inside the lights, this was almost impossible cause the wires are not long enough to loop and connect to existing connection of the light, usually most lights come with open back plate so you can extend the wires using couplers or joiners to make the wires long enough to join the light , but with this light you are limited to use what ever wires length you end up, tried extending the wires inside the light but proved impossible or unsafe due to lack of space as everything need to be spot on to make it water proof. finally i managed to join the wires together after a considerable time and all work fine. but i would recommend the manufacture to consider this problem for future lights.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs others have stated the cover is a little fiddly but I found the application of two butter knife’s and slight pressure adjacent to the catches works well.
The whole unit feels fragile and a tad delicate, putting the mains wires in is again fiddly as the position of the hole and the rubber grommet which insists in popping out all the time when trying to insert the mains wiring.
The mains wiring hole could be a lot larger to accommodate the wires better and so make the rubber seal less of a pain.
If you are working with short mains wiring the whole job is made worse by the connecting block having no latitude to move even a millimetre.
The PIR has adequate ‘left-right’ movement but as stated no ‘up-down’ movement which is a shame as you are limited as to where you can situate it (unless using a previous lamp connection as I did)
The use of a 60w max light bulb is also restricting as I would suggest for security use 60w is very under powered.
For the price it is adequate, however with a little more thought it could be better.
Would I buy it again, no. I would want something that was more robust could handle more powerful light bulbs and had more ‘space’ for the wiring block and mains wiring.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersDelivered promptly and relatively easy to fit as I was replacing a similar one. Good value for money. A bit fiddly to bend the electric wires round from the entry point grommet and into the connection block. I didn’t want to shorten the wires in case they needed to be longer for another lamp in future years. Take care with a largish flat head screwdriver to prise off the light defuser cover. You don’t want to crack it! Before ordering, I didn’t note that the bulb fitting (bulb not supplied) was large ES rather than the large bayonet fitting of the last one. I had a ‘filament’ LED bulb which fitted and gave a good amount of light, coming to full brightness straight away, unlike some older energy saving types. If using an old style filament bulb, the max is 60W.
