used it once up to now, a few weeks ago the ground was soft and it worked brilliant, just what I wanted and it feels pretty sturdy up to now
Got this from Amazon on a deal with the shoe aerators. I have muddy lawn at the far back and as it’s being pouring out I couldn’t walk a around with the shoe aerators so I pulled it out the box and it is absolutely brilliant. I highly recommend. Has made holes all over my muddy lawn and hopefully next year lawn will be a lot better. So easy to put together and very robust.
This is a great aerator especially for the price point. When used on moisten soil, it pops out cores with ease and consistency. Assembly was easy and the tool feels strong and sturdy. The collection bags is a nice bonus and they worked flawlessly. Very impressed. And the tool that comes with it is ideal for cleaning the tool at the end of use. Highly recommend this tool due to the ease of use, accessories and price.
Tip – spray WD40 on the inside and outside of the tubes (the portion that will enter the ground) and reapply as needed. I didn’t expect the collection bags to work but they actually do! Also helps to water the ground first and let it soak in and loosen up. I did an area with very compacted clay soil and was very impressed. If you have the time this is a smart way to aerate as pulling plugs is far superior to using spikes that only end up compacting the ground even more. Highly recommend this tool.
I’ve never used similar item before, but very happy with this purchase. I am a very weak person and it is an easy job with this one. So happy with it!
As long as your lawn isn’t too big, these shoes work great for aerating your lawn as you cut the grass or do other chores. I spent a little extra time to make sure every area was sufficiently aerated, and within a few weeks most of the unevenness went away, the grass absorbed water better, and my lawn looked great.
Homeboy isn’t one to get all emo over random boxes from Amazon however this one has already triggered a Bro Bonding Experience.
Why?
First up is the box. Didn’t need to tell me it wasn’t packed by Amazon because dude was packed tight, neat and in style. (Now real boxes from Amazon I think are packed solely by chicks who have just packed up the boyfriends stuff and gave him the curb because their boxes are sopointed) Anyway, after the shock of some Ryder’s thoughtful packing, the next is – Whoathis looks like it could be a quality made hoopachew but nah that can’t be true, right!?
Ayeee. It IS. TRUE. The little dude is built PROPER. All swole and sturdy, had to circle back to confirm it was made in China because – for the money – this reminds me more of old-school Made in Murica tools. It’s pretty substantial so def up to the task at hand as well as being a personal protective device should one have to regulate someone who isn’t cleaning up their dog on your lawn.
Takes all of 1 minute 30 Seconds to assemble and you are off and running with your new Pogo Stick of Thatchly Aeration and Neighborly Beat Downs.
Bounced out my 1/8th acre of green (that I mow with an OG Analog Push Mower thank you) in no time at all. It’s a great workout and if done once a month I’ll be able to crack walnuts with my butt come Christmas time.
Best Thing Bought on Amazon but Shipped By Someone Else Ever.
Ohuhu, I Love You Bro.
Overall, I’m satisfied the quality with this budget price.
My only concern is the position of the upper pole join. I( weigh 135 lbs. 5.3 feet) have to JUMP onto the foot bar to give an extra push ( the soil not hard and dry, after rain 1 day), right hit to the upper join and bruised my knees and thighs with those extra movements . Hmmm.. any help if my weight is over 180 lbs.? Wearing gardening knee pads might be a good solution. ^^
Macht, was es soll.
Was hesitant to make the purchase after seeing some negative reviews but got lucky to receive one that was in working condition.
Pros: budget friendly / good for small yards. Easy to assembly. Height was ok (I’m 5ft3).
Cons: none so far.
Tips: best to use a day or two after heavy rain / don’t use it on harden soil.
Haben schweren Boden, trotzdem funktioniert es prima. Am besten vorher gut wssern, je trockener feste schwieriger geht es. Hab in 2 Stunden gut 60 m2 gelchert. Fr den Preis kann man wirklich nicht meckern. Jetzt wird gesandet und nachgest. Mal sehen was draus wird.
This defective item has alignment issues, this holes does not align well and the screws cannot be pushes through. As you can see on the picture, I can push the screw in one end but no way it will come out on the other end. So disappointed with this poor quality control
Edit: customerservice is really quick and send me a replacement right away, which is another 3 days to receive. This time, it works as it suppose to be. That being said, i’d much prefer not having to go through this process.
I was rather sceptical at first given some of the reviews but must admit I’m quite impressed.
Within the space of 10 minutes one of the tines clogged tight. The tool supplied was useless as the soil inside was very compacted. A screwdriver was much easier to resolve the blockage.
After this the aerator worked a dream. The basket’s filled quickly but saves the job of collecting them afterwards.
Not sure how long it will last but so far so good.
Nice and sturdy when assembled. Handle at a good height for a tall person and easy to use. I find the collection pockets very good. Empty into a bucket every so often. Parts of my lawn are quite stoney, and the tool copes well and seems to hold up to a bit of abuse and doesn’t take long to cover larger areas. 5 stars at this price – here’s hoping for a much improved lawn 🙂
This is much cheaper & more effective than a yard service. You have to put a little effort into it but works very good to take out long plugs to aerate the lawn. Works much better after watering lawn. Doesn’t take much effort to push into ground and seems fairly sharp at the bottom. It can be done only on high traffic areas that really need it. I highly recommend!
I thought I was taking a risk trying it on the lawn with hard packed clay in April after months of rain. I thought there might be a muddy mess so I put vegetable oil on the spikes. The velcro-type spikes worked great for size 11 boots. I used a pitchfork like a hiking pole to walk. Soon I was moving in a slow walk, living my feet straight up. I did the whole small lawn. I only picked up some mud (that I kicked off) in a muddy place, not where the grass was. The aerator shoes look very sturdy, have extra holes for more straps (I was fine with the ones that were included). Extra spikes were included in case any fall off. It only took a little more time than mowing the lawn. I recommend.
I recently purchased the Ohuhu Lawn Aerator Shoes with Stainless Steel Shovel and have been thoroughly impressed with their quality and effectiveness. The shoes are easy to install with hook and loop straps and fit comfortably on my feet. The stainless steel spikes on the bottom are heavy duty and penetrate the soil with ease, effectively aerating my lawn. The included shovel is a nice bonus and makes it easy to remove any excess dirt or debris. I appreciate that the shoes are one-size-fits-all, so there’s no need to worry about finding the right size. Overall, I highly recommend the Ohuhu Lawn Aerator Shoes for anyone looking to improve the health of their lawn.
These spiked aeration shoes are great for the price paid. Beats spending a couple hundred $ on getting professional aeration service done. I’ve only used them once, and don’t see myself using them more than once a year so too early to tell if they will be durable enough, but they seem to stand up well after extensive first time use.
I bought these aeration shoes to do my front and back yards, well less than 10,000 sqft. They fit well with large boots and remain sturdy with sturdy shoes. The spike shoes are like walking in heels, and if the soil is moist, the dirt clumps up making it even harder to walk and you have to stop and remove the dirt. This shoe is used for spike aeration, not hole aeration like a machine provides.
