This game is easy to play and great fun – teaches colours, shapes and numbers along with taking turns and the dreaded stealing of pieces when you’ve almost completed your pizza – caused some tantrums at first with our little one as he was happy to take pieces from others but not so keen on them being taken from him!
Good opportunity to talk about foods & trying new tastes as well.
Always a popular game to get out of the toy box in our house.
My kids love it. My four year old is very able to play along, matching the colours and shapes. My two year old still needs a little help. And everyone likes shouting ‘IN THE BIN!!” for all the gross toppings. Good fun, and frequently asked for in our house.
Simple concept so suited to my 4 year old. Interesting twist of having the opportunity to steal the other players slize which for a child is difficult to accept at first. Fairly durable although the spinners are a little delicate. Pizza slices were also used by 4 year old to make up their own pizza delivery game. Worth the money.
My 3 year old loves this game, she especially likes to shout “in the bin, in the bin” when the yucky stuff shows up. Highly recommend! it lasts a bit longer than other games.
It is a very nice board game, the concept behind is as simple as effective. Very engaging for your little ones and for you too. The fact it has just 2 rules leaves room for making your own and be creative. A great gift too. This is a very smart toy. Fully recommended.
My 4 year old ones loves this game and so we us parents! It’s a quick to do game if you want something to do for 5 minutes. It’s easy to learn the rules and the game itself is fun. Would recommend.
My four year old is a huge fan of Orchard games but especially this one, so much so I’ve had to buy it twice! I don’t know why he loves this one so much but he really does, It is great fun for the whole family for all ages and I really recommend it. Great for a quick and easy game as well when you don’t have loads of time on your hands and really easy to clear up too.
I love orchard games and have played them many many times not only with my daughter but nieces and nephews. They are so well made and durable, so there’s no worries at all about them breaking or splitting or images coming off. They are made to last.
This has been a fav with my nephew when he was small so bought this for me and my daughter to play whilst in lockdown. The thing I love about this (and many of the games) is that there are many ways you can play them, you don’t have to play by the instructions. My daughter is only 4 and isn’t quite ready for winners and losers, so she likes to make her own rules! And these games are so intuitive for children that she can do just that quite easily.
The pizza game is brilliant as the ‘yucky’ element of the bad bits of pizza is hilarious for little ones. My daughter loves finding the pizza bits with the bugs on and shouting about her disgust!
A very fun way of children learning fundamentals of turn taking, sharing and game structure.
Another super game from Orchard toys. You really can’t go wrong with these games. My 3 year old loves this game and it’s great for teaching about colours, matching and food.
Have bought this game twice for nephews as they love it and it’s so much fun. They love that it’s got slugs and worms and delight in chanting ‘in the bin!’. The youngest took a little while to figure out how to play while the oldest one tries to cheat on spins. Both love it though and can relate to it well as they love pizza. Reasonably sturdy too.
Bought as a birthday present for our four-year old grandson, who picked up the game very quickly and was soon able to explain the rules to other members of the family when he was looking for a game. The game pieces are sturdy and the option to choose by either colour or shape meant that he had to think about which pieces he needed to complete his pizza. Could see how this could easily be played by a group of children with minimal adult supervision.
We own quite a few orchard toys games, and this one is particularly good, there’s a bit more to the game than some of the simpler ones, which has kept us all interested. 3.5 and 8 year old both enjoy.
We have had a couple of rounds where no one gets a bad piece of pizza which is the bit my kids love the best- yelling out “in the bin”. If Orchard Toys check these reviews, maybe a couple of extra bad slices would increase the odds of getting a bad slice!
Great usual quality. Would highly recommend.
Very funny game – my 3 year old loves the bits of pizza with a bug on. The counter is a little hard for her to use though it would be better as dice I think.
My four year old son absolutely loves this game. He cheats of course but that makes it even funnier. Somehow I always get the pizza slices with all the bugs on ha ha. Anyways, lots of fun and keeps him occupied.
I bought this for my sons 5th birthday and he loves it, along with the rest of us. Surprisingly both the 5 & 7 year olds, struggled taking pieces of pizza from other players, my daughter even stopped playing for a while because she refused to do it. They’ve gotten over that though and love playing with it.
I bought this toy for my 2yr and 7 month old son as he loves pizza and thought would relate to the concept and play.
My intention was to get him to sit together with family or friends and introduce and learn the concept of turn taking primarily along with colors and vocabulary as he is a little impatient and still struggling to identify colors.
Quality-
Packaging was good, came in the box as in the pics, includes instruction booklet and a promotional booklet for other games too.
All the pieces are of good quality cardboard. The spinning needle is made of plastic, does the job.
Experience-
I ensured that I read the instructions and game rules to understand how its played before introducing it to my son.
He got really excited to see the pizza slices as its so colorful we as a family sat together to play with him.
I cannot expect him to play the game by the rules, so we introduced him the concept of healthy pizza slices and unhealthy pizza slices(ones with worms), taught him that whenever you get the unhealthy or pizza slices with worms, we need to bin them by directing him to keep it on the bin board.
Once he got the concept of binning the wormed slices, we introduced the idea of turning the slices face down and introduced colors. We kept all the slices as per the colors, and asked him to place specific color slices on the pizza board. This helped him get familiar to some colors and I’m sure more playing will help him with the rest as well, following with shape identification.
We haven’t introduced the concept of spinning the wheel as yet- but will do so in a few months.
My son got really excited once his pizza board was full, he would pretend to keep it in an oven to bake it and once ready to serve and eat :), which was cute.
I knew that this game has an age group of 3+, but I wanted to introduce the concept of board games along with other elements to my son for a fun family time.
A good 30 mins to an hr can be spent playing this game.
This is a fun game to play. You got to collect your pizza slice and put it on your pizza you need to collect all your pizza to win the game. Your get a spin card with a colour on and a shape then you choose to pick your pizza, slice. Watch out for the bad ones you have to put in the bin. But the fun part is when you spin the card and it lands on a pizza with hand. You can nick someone else’s piece of pizza. Some kids can get upset when you nick there piece. But a really fun game to play.
Very silly little board game which the whole family loves! My 9 year old seems to enjoy screeching and screaming “to the bin!” in disgust as much as my 3 year old, whom the game was intended for. I must say that I, as an adult, do find it a great laugh too! Not as educational as some other Orchard games, but a good laugh, worth the money. My little girls also struggles with colours, so the pizza pieces help in that respect. I would definitely recommend!
