A nice twist to the traditional Snakes and Ladders game. This Paladone Back To Hogwarts Board Game was easy to assemble and to play, as it follows the same instructions as the traditional game. A bonus point for having the characters from the book as the figurines to move up and down.
The only reason for taking a star away is that the figurines don’t sit quite flat on the surface so we had to keep picking them up and putting them back in the right place.
Ive given it 4 star as its pretty much just snake and ladders but my 9yr old still loved it as shes a big HP fan. Nice quick game when theres not alot of time but want to do something togethe
This Harry Potter board game is very easy to pick up and play, as the concept is similar to snakes and ladders. This means it’s great for my younger child age 5. The concept and game play is not engaging enough for my older Harry Potter fans to come back to it many times so I recommend this for the younger crowd, around 5-7 or 8 years old.
The graphics and the play pieces are very cute with a cartoony Harry Potter style
This is a very easy game that is very much like snakes and ladders. I think it is most suited to young primary school aged children as its so easy to play. Kept my Grand children happy for an hour or so.
My 7 year old niece is Harry Potter mad so this board game is perfect for her. It super easy to learn. It seems a little cheaply made to be charging 14.99.
This is such a great spin on snakes and ladders with the hype of HP. My boy is HP mad and loves snakes and ladders so this is the perfect game for him! It’s so easy to play which is great for any rainy day in where boredom can overtake you. Even the kids can play it without falling out over the rules! This would make a fab Xmas gift!
This is a great board game for Harry Potter fans. Sort of like a Harry Potter version of snakes and ladders. Really great game for any age. Great value for money.
This game is so much fun for the whole family. You have to try and get your characters to Hogwarts before one else while avoiding enemies, a new take on the old style snakes and ladders. It works well with both 2. 3 or 4 players so we had quite a few games with different people in the family, it was even loved by the adults.
The box looks super cool with the cartoon characters on the front. These charaters are then used as game peices inside too. The game pieces and board are made out of high quality cardboard which seems very durable. You also get a normal plastic dice. You do get a small instruction sheet but it is quite easy to follow anyway.
Would make a great gift as it is high qaulity and offical merchandise.
Like Harry Potter? Need a game?
This is the Paladone Back To Hogwarts Board Game Official Licensed Harry Potter Merchandise. Made from cardboard and plastic.
If you like Harry Potter and like Snakes and Ladders, then this game is for you. It is so easy to play, and even my 4yr old can play.
Basically 2-4 players start at Platform 9 3/4 then take it in turns to roll the dice and move up the board. Land on a friend square then move up their “ladder”, land on an enemy and slide down their “snake”. If you land on a Deathly Hollows square you can either roll the dice again, move forwards or choose to move an opponent back. The winner is the first person to Hogwarts…no flying cars allowed.
If you like a really easy game, then this is it, the Harry Potter licence makes it more fun too. Recommended.
It is snakes and ladders with a simple little twist. The deathly hallows places make for a cool addition to the game.
My daughter keeps asking me to play it and we keep making different rules to keep it interesting.
We changed the snakes and ladders around. We tried having to get exact amount or just reaching the end.
Hours of fun to be had especially fun for Harry Potters fans.
This has been made to a good standard I’m not really into harry Potter but my daughter is she has really enjoyed playing it good game for a Potter fa
A well presented board game in a sturdy and durable box — always good to keep it all together and put it away.
The game itself has simple rules which basically run along similar lines of snakes and ladders. This has Harry Potter appeal and makes a refreshing change to children using screens and online games. This gets all the family involved and is sure to be a hit with younger children. It would make a good Christmas or birthday present.
My children, aged 6 and 11 love this game. They are both Harry Potter fans and both live the traditional snakes and ladders.
It’s a very easy game to play, just roll the dice and if you land on a friend you move io their red charm and if you land on an enemy you slide down their blue curse.
The only difference is if you land on the deathly hallows symbol you get to roll again and move forward or choose to move your opponent back.
First to reach Hogwarts castle wins!
The figures are cardboard but strong and have plastic bases. The board is durable and folds away for storage. Great family game for all ages and up to 4 players.
We love it and would highly recommend!
I think the setting is quite intuitive from the title, specifically in this game we will play the role of four characters from the Harry Potter saga, namely the homonymous wizard with a lightning bolt in front, Hermione Granger, Ronald Weasley and Ginny Weasley.
By choosing your favorite character, the adventure begins!
By defeating the different enemies that will be faced and resisting the events that will be unleashed against us.
The box contains the folded game board.
intended for a family audience, it remains a game linked exclusively to luck that will hardly be able to interest an avid player.
This is a cartoon style, Harry Potter themed game. It’s for 2-4 players, comes with a board, 4 character pieces and a dice. The rules are really simple, it’s basically Snakes and ladders. There are special spaces that allows you to move forward or send a player backwards. It’s fun, simple and great for all the family.
This is a very exciting looking game for any Harry Potter fan, my Son is absolutely mad on it so he could barely wait to get it all out of the box.
I was pleased to find it’s incredibly simple, no complicated instructions, cards or pieces – it’s simply the game board, 4 characters, the dice and a little spinner.
Effectively this is snakes and ladders with a Harry Potter twist, landing on a particular square can prompt you to send another player back or advance yourself so that’s a slight variation of the original but the simplicity remains which isn’t a bad thing as for us parents there’s nothing more frustrating than something really hard to grasp which you’re trying to help little ones play! This is suitable for up to 4 players and each game is fairly quick, we tend to finish in around 20 minutes and the children can play on their own without arguments!
Easy to play, the Harry Potter branding is great for fans like my son and a nice spin on the original Snakes and Ladders.
A quality Harry Potter board game from Paladone, this is a version of snakes and ladders for 2-4 players and I would think it would appeal most to junior school children, although the website recommends 6 months to 18years!!. There is, however, a warning on the box that it is not suitable for children under the age of 3, and I don’t imagine many 18 years olds wanting to play snakes and ladders.
The aim is to be the first person to get from Platform 9 and 3/4 to Hogwarts, encountering friends and enemies along the way. One large dice is supplied, and 4 character pieces–Harry, Ron, Hermione and Ginny Weasley. It might have been better to have a wider choice of characters. I can’t imagine my grandsons wanting to be Hermione or Ginny if Harry and Ron were taken!
When you have chosen your character piece, it slots into a round plastic base to hold it upright, and you move around the nicely designed , colourful board. There are lots of cartoon-type Harry Potter characters such as Hagrid, to help you ascend on a red charm and enemies such as Malfoy to send you downwards on a blue jinx.
If you land on The Deathly Hallows symbol, you roll the dice again and can then decide whether to move forward that number of spaces or send an opponent -(an opponent! I thought they were friends!!)- back that number of spaces.
To make the game longer, you will need the exact number required to land at Hogwarts, and if you roll
too high, you are bounced back.
The game is fairly well-made. I think the first thing to go will be where you slot the playing pieces into the plastic rings, so maybe plastic characters would last much longer. It is also slightly overpriced, but all officially licensed merchandise is more expensive. Children will improve dexterity, counting and social skills whilst having fun.
The box is attractive and will make an impressive stocking filler.
At 15 this is expensive for what essentially is Harry Potter meets snakes and ladders. I guess the extra cost is attributed to the use of the Harry Potter license. There isn’t much in the box – a folder out cardboard game board, 4 character pieces and a single dice as well as a single sheet of paper with some very brief instructions.
Effectively being a game of snakes and ladders it is very easy to pick up and play and there is certainly appeal in having a game that is quick and easy to play. This makes for a perfect family game that can even include younger participants.
There is a slight tweak to the rules in that if you land or a certain step on the board you get to roll again and decide whether to move forward the number of places you roll or move a player back by that number – it adds a little tactical flair to an otherwise very straightforward game.
I’m not sure I’m much for the Funko pop style artwork of the characters, both on the board and for the cardboard character place markers, but I won’t deny as a family we’ve had a lot of fun with this game over the last few days. I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve played it – a good, simple game.
This is essentially Harry Potter snakes and ladders, it’s easy to pick up and play and is a quick game to play so keeps even young players attention for long enough to play.
It is fun, especially for Harry Potter fans and all the family can play together, so a great game for family time.
This game is based on snakes and ladders. The 4 characters are in a race to get back to school and are thwarted or rewarded en route, depending on the roll of the dice.
It’s very easy to learn, good fun and the premise is simple. The characters sit on plastic rings and the board and bits are good quality. It’s officially licensed and would make a great gift, particularly for Potter fans.
Back To Hogwarts Board Game.
This is a brilliant family board game that’s a must for all Harry Potter fans. The game is a fully licensed product. The game is for 2-4 players and the aged range is for 6+. The rules are simple to follow, making it perfect for all members of the family. I’m sure this game will be on many Christmas lists this year.
