We bought this warmer to use during the night feeds and it has been a life saver. It warms 180ml of refrigerated milk in about 5 minutes, which is fast enough when you have a hungry baby.
I decided to write this review after noticing the amount of people complaining about this product.
The building quality is really good. Much, much better than other famous brand that I had in the past, and that after a couple of months of intermittent use it started leaking from the bottom.
The presets for the volume work very well too. It is fast (~3-5 minutes to a warm bottle, depending on the volume), and also keeps the ideal temperature once is warm.
The only thing that is not very well described in the instructions is how much water you should put in the device. There’s a change in the internal diameter, but if you fill with water just until that level, the milk doesn’t comes warm enough. This is perhaps the reason why some customers are complaining about the bottle warmer not working properly. We now add water until it reaches the same height than the milk in the bottle and now it works like a charm.
The instructions were not great and I had to look online for better ones. It wasn’t initially clear that it was not a dry heater. The instructions did say it but we’re so copious it got hidden and I think they should just have stated in plain sentences. Step one put your bottle or food jar in device, choose setting volume of milk or food heating or defrost setting. Fill chamber with water. Press on. Observe it is flashing. Check each few minutes is it still flashing. If static check temperature of milk or food yourself to ensure not too hot before feeding baby/child.
Empty chamber of water. Periodically clean with a half and half white vinegar water solution.
Other then that I found the chamber water got to 54 degree celsius and the water to up to 42 degrees. So you need to check it yourself or leave it to settle to the 37 to 39 degrees Celsius that it will do in about 5 yo ten minutes.
I’m dropping it to four stars as I don’t think it should have gone higher than 37 and most or all parents would rather it took longer or just live with it being a bit cooler then risking it being too hot. And I’d rather not had to Mick about filling chamber with water and emptying and cleaning it. But it is swift and aside from that low hassle. Much better than a microwave or boiling a kettle etc. So a four is deserved.
