I have very hard walls and impossible to get nails into. Has to bevavproper drill jobbie. But these little things are excellent. Two swift hammers and they are in for good and hold my pictures – quite big pictures too. Would definitely recommend
I haven’t used them yet, but they appear to be fit for purpose and are great value.
Amazingly strong. You can virtually hang anything on them. We hung quite a heavy mirror and it held no problem.
These steel-pinned picture hooks are fairly easy to hammer into the wall and work well, but it’s important to understand that they work only with hard brick or stone walls and are not appropriate for plasterboard or cavity walls, where they will not last ten seconds if you try to hang even a lightweight picture on them.
Once you understand those limitations, this is a very good product, a secure fixing into a solid brick wall which will hold up an impressive range of items – picture, wall clock, mirror or other wall art — so long as you follow the manufacturer’s weight limit recommendations for each size.
Occasionally an item – a large picture for example – seems to hang securely, but within a few weeks the weight of the picture & frame will cause the pins to gradually work loose from the wall and the item will come crashing down; this can be alarming when it happens in the middle of the night when you’re all asleep. It’s best to underestimate the weight the hooks will bear, rather than be too optimistic.
It’s not true BTW that the sharp steel pins holding these hangers to the wall may be removed without leaving any marks on the surface of the wall: they will leave holes, and more marks besides if you’re too enthusiastic when hammering them in.
Hanging pictures and are confident that it strong enough for the job
Great. Big enough for most picture hanging jobs, as well as the smaller ones.
Excellent product for hanging heavy framed pictures particularly on hard walls..
Not the easiest thing to remove if fixed on with enthusiasm. Otherwise, better than I expected. Recommended.
Very easy to use , handy size choice, pictures up in minutes.
Easy to install and great that comes in 3 sizes. Not had to remove one yet so cannot comment on that. Definitely worth a go
Now I got these I can finally start hanging things up, good strength and come with a hanging little tool to avoid smashing your fingers with a hammer.
These are decent for the price and the heavy ones can take on bigger canvas and frames no problem.
The only type that will go in my 1970’s house solid walls. Bought to hang heavy mirrors and pictures .. you do have to make sure that you put in the right place as not easy to remove… but that said do a great job.
Having tried standard picture hooks, which bent easily going into walls, I bought this product. So far, very impressed. Holding up heavy frames and seem sturdy. Went into walls easily.
They are not easy to remove unless you are very careful and don’t mind poly filling ! But they are not meant to be removed. They hold heavy pictures. Great product.
These are great. I was a bit dubious as to whether they’d be strong enough but I needent of worried. They are great, really strong.
There’s 3 sizes in the pack. With the largest size I have hung an A3 photo in a Ribba 40*50cm fame without any worries.
We have hard cement walls and nothing else works. These go in easily, and stay in. They are a little bit hard to remove (you need to wiggle them out slowly with pliers to avoid peeling any paint off the wall), but they are the only hangers we’ve found that will go into our walls and keep pictures up. We tried some of the stick on “no damage” hooks and found that they spontaneously fall off the wall and damage the pictures as well as peeling off the paint. So definitely use these! They leave some small holes, but the alternatives just don’t work.
These hooks are perfect – they are so easy to nail in with a hammer and very sturdy once in. Have already hung 6 largeish paintings with no issues.
Plaster does not come off when being nailed in and no bent nails, unlike some of the traditional brass hooks. Wish I’d known about these before!!
We have concrete walls in our house which I am not use to as I am from the United States. So no way I was going to get a screw in with just a screw driver! I found these and gave them a try and wow they are strong! I have a large heavy clock on one and no problem.
Bought these to hang whiteboard on mother in laws kitchen door to leave messages for her carers. Door is a good sturdy door yet got these on rather quickly and easily and so far the board is still safely hanging there. Whiteboard is quite big and heavy yet door has been slid open and shut and no movement. I would recommend and will be using these for hanging other items going forward
These really are a game changer !
I have no idea what the walls in our new home are made of but normal picture hook just bent. We have 4 children so our walls are usually covered in lots of pictures of our children , not here. Everytime we wanted to hang a picture we’d have to drill, plug and use a screw….am i the only one that hangs a picture only to discover it needs moving by 5 ml?? There are only so many drill holes you can hide with the picture . But these are a game changer. They go straight in the wall, are strong and sturdy as long as you hit the actual nails and not the hook ( opps)
Im going to order a pack with just small hooks for pictures.
These are great..buy them
I’ve used these for some pretty hefty pictures. Hubby had splashed out on professional framing for a load of wall art, and I’d just decorated and in the process found that nailing anything into these rock hard bricks isn’t a good idea. The result is a pile of bent nails and mutilated plaster!
I like these because they come in different sizes, they’re easy to use and so far I’ve had nothing fall down, including a full length mirror. They come with a little plastic holder so you can hold them in position without risking hitting your thumb with the hammer. I swear by these now, and recommend without hesitation.
Used two large hooks for a giant wooden clock and so far (few hours) everything looks great. They were too many hooks in the pack. I’d prefer to have paid half for half the number. Overall, they seem to cover a wide range of items which need to be hung.
Feedback a few days later – these hooks are working well. I am delighted and they were so easy to install. However, I will need to live to be 250 to be able to use them all. I made a mistake and should have looked harder for a smaller package… but that’s my fault.
I’ve hated hanging pictures in my house as most of the plaster crumbles away, but these hooks are amazing. They do work and are easy to hammer in. Not good with small pictures though as they’re thick and the picture won’t sit flush against the wall. String is needed I think for this job.
I’ve got those type of really old, really hard walls where you drill a hole and suddenly you’re left with a hole you can fit 3 fingers in and you’re getting the polyfilla out nearly EVERYTIME. I procrastinated so much I went nearly 3 years with my pictures stacked in a pile.
Enter these beasts. They are one of my best purchases to date.
You need to be careful not to hit the hook putting them up but they are super simple to install. Few firm taps with the hammer, hook is in and firm and the picture goes up. It takes less than a minute.
I wish I’d discovered these years ago, oh the angst they would have saved.
I still have to drill for heavy items such as solid wood large pictures or mirrors but the rest… piece of cake now!
UPDATE 2 ish years later: I needed to remove a hook or two to move pictures and was a bit wary as some reviews said they left damage. I’m happy to report, my crappy walls didn’t lose any chunks upon removal, even the wallpaper stayed intact!
I removed two with a stiff metal wallpaper scraper, it was the thinest flat wide blade I had. Slide the flat blade up under the hook and VERY slowly ease it away from the wall by levering the blade back and forth firmly with occasional side tilt. Move the scraper up into the gap as the hook moves away from the wall and keep slowly levering. You can pull the hook forward slightly with your fingers to help this. Is recommend putting something to protect the wall behind the scraper if your wall is delicate, credit card perhaps? Anyway, the hook body will start coming away from the wall and you can either grab the edges with pliars or continue levering around with the blade. Either way, both mine came out easily and only left the barely noticeable tiny pin holes from the pin nails. Result!
For the hooks that are still in the walls, all are firmly intact, not gone brittle and no pictures have dropped so these are still one of my best buys this decade.
Here I am writing oodles picture hooks, I think I need to live a more exciting life!
