PlayMonster Games Race Around Europe Board Game, Multicolo
From the creators of Ticket to Ride, a fun game where kids can learn about Countries, Capitals and Landmarks as they travel across Europe! For 2-4 players.
Completing Your Journey:
There are no restrictions as to where a drawn card may be placed in the card holder during a player’s turn. However, to win the game, a player must be the first to complete a 10 trip journey. A 10 trip journey is considered complete when, starting with “1”, each trip is connected to the next trip in the card holder. The completed journey must also meet the following criteria:
Completed journeys must start with a Country Card and end with a Country Card.
Six countries have two cards each, indicated by the * symbol. Two cards from the same country may be included in a completed journey as long as the cards are not placed next to each other.
It is not necessary to include either an Aeroplane or a Ship Card to complete a 10 trip journey.
Transportation cards, next to each other, do not form a connection.
Connecting by Foot: Players may travel by foot from one country to a bordering country. The bordering country cards are connected to each other when they are positioned side-by-side in the card holder. A broken red line indicates a short connection by ferry (therefore by foot). Conversely, there is a bridge between Sweden and Denmark. Two country cards are considered connected if there is a broken red line or a bridge, connecting the two countries on the map, or if they are located next to each other.
Connecting by Ship: Players may travel by ship from one country to another country by sailing on the sea or ocean which borders both of the two countries. When a ship card is positioned between the two country cards, these three cards are connected to each other. Ship cards may only be used for making connections on the sea or ocean designated on that card.
Connecting by Aeroplane: Players may use an aeroplane to fly from one Country to another Country of the same colour. When the Aeroplane Card is positioned between the two Country Cards, and is the same colour as both Country Cards, these three cards are connected to each other.

An accessible family weight game designed by Alan Moon of Ticket to Ride fame. This is also published as 10 Days in Europe & there is version based in the USA as well. This is an older game from 2002.
The game is map based & has cards, which are really tiles. They are thick card. It’s about hand management & your ability to read the map. It certainly forces you to get up to speed on European geography. You have to arrange (re-arrange) your ten tiles in order to travel by foot, sea or air in a geographically coherent way. I say re-arrange, but you cannot actually re-arrange your tiles once you have placed them, you have to draw & replace tiles to make your trip.
We play it at 2 player & find it entertaining, very light weight. The production is good quality. The map board is colourful & we find easy to read. Great for educational play for kids.
Bought for an Xmas present and now become a family favourite! Easy once you get your head around the rules, doesn’t take forever to play and kids learn a bit of geography along the way!
Fantastic game, it’s one of our favorites now, it just takes a while to get your head around the rules and how it works. My son’s 11 and 9 love it. I wish there was a video that showed how to play it because it took a bit too long to figure it out with the instructions. But it was Christmas day so maybe it was just me.
Bought this at a charity shop and had a blast playing it with 2 players.
The game is very simple, as to be expected with a board game aimed at children but once you get into it there is strategy and fun to be had in crafting your journey across Europe.
