I’ve bought as a gift for my daughter birthday fast delivery great price I hope she likes it she wanted lip gloss and I thought how about get something where she can make
Have this to my niece for Xmas and she absolutely has only good things to say about it. She said it smells greats and is easy for her to do on her own- she’s 8
This is a really good lip balm making set it really works well. Have bought different sets in the past and have not worked as good as these. It is easy to use and they smell lovely.
This is a great quality craft kit which is aimed at young girls, but could be used by anyone really.
The kit includes everything you need to make several different flavoured lip balms, using the included ingredients and instructions.
The kit has 100% beeswax, 100% shea butter and 100% pure olive oil, along with three flavourings, strawberry, watermelon and mint.
At time of review, the kit is priced at just over 13, so is reasonable value for money.
My daughter was delighted to get this lip balm making set and immediately hurried off the try it out. She is eleven and didn’t want any help, she wanted to do it herself. She made two tubes at first, both watermelon flavour, one for her and one for me. The end result did smell of watermelon but was really quite lumpy. From talking to my daughter I think that my daughter wasn’t quite patient enough. Despite being lumpy, these still worked well and do help to moisturise your lips. On further attempts, my daughter has taken more time and the results have been much smoother. I would definitely buy this set to give as gifts, I was impressed by the contents and the amount of time my daughter spent making the lip balms.
Got this for my little cousin thought it would be a great activity for her to do when she’s off school and she loves it, easy to follow instructions, price is affordable, would make a good gif
What a great gift, my daughter who’s ten will enjoy making these, she’s into her lip balms and likes making things, concoctions and slimes! I think 12.99 is a fab price for all that this includes, 3 different flavours and 10 lip balm sticks. Looks easy enough to make too. Natural ingredients which is good especially for young ones, says for ages 8+.
The box contains-
olive oil
shea butter
pure beeswax
10 lip balm containers (in 5 assorted colours)
flavours (mint, watermelon & strawberry)
12 stick-on labels
1 mixing cup & 1 scoop
1 pipette &1 stir stick.
This was a gift for my daughter who loves lip balm. We had so much fun making these together! She also gifted a few to his friends. It was a great DIY project to do with her.The stickers are very cute.
it has 10 lip balm containers, shea butter, olive oil, beeswax,labels, 1 mixing cup microwaveable, 1tiny scoop, 1pipette and diffrent flavours, 1stirring stick.
She said the balm was very moisturizing! I love the balm myself it keeps my lips from being dry and chapped! I would highly recommend this as a gift or simple fun craft at home with the kids! It comes in a cute box and very straight forward steps.
(The bees wax takes some time to melt- just be patient. The mixture solidifies quickly once removed from heat, so fill the tubes fast or the pipette won’t work anymore. The scent was pleasant without being overpowering and the finished product is actually pretty nice on the lips. We loved that it’s all natural ingredients. This helped her learn what is in her beauty products. Offering different scents would have been nice, but the quality was great for our first DIY
My daughter made so far 2 lip balms, one for herself and one for her friend, both likes them a lot and using all the time. I helped a bit to made them as my daughter is 9y old so I melted ingridients for her, rest she was doing on herself. Instruction is very clear, ingridients are natural and looks like good quality too 😉 we like that set and I could strongly recommend tha
My daughter and her friend spent a morning on this activity. The ingredients are indeed natural and the natural oils scents do smell divine. The instructions must be followed exactly and unfortunately it took them two batches to get it right, so they used up all shea butter and got only one successful round of lip balms, but the idea is super and we’ll try getting some more shea butter and repeating the process to make more.
Note that you need a microwave for this activity, if you use boiling hot water instead, it takes a while for the beeswax to melt.
Made them with my almost 5 years old daughter, she was excited to start using them. The process is very easy and quite fast. It smells delicious. The only problem I can see is the amounts in the instructions, with the 1:1 ratio you’ll get quite a soft balm that melts easily when touched, but you can make it harder by adding more beeswax.
Lovely little set. My kids use lots of lip balms so this was perfect for them to try. The instructions are clear and the finished product turned out great. Really great gift.
This set of make your own lip balm is a great way to get little ones to understand how products are made, what goes into them and why.
The set is reasonably presented, you can see and understand what it is. Unfortunately instead of saying STEM education it says STEAM education. Not so much of a problem if you are buying for your own child but wouldn’t look great as a gift.
I like the idea and I’m sure my daughter will have lots of fun with this set but I think they need to correct the error on the box going forward. The price point is about right for this type of set and I appreciate the natural ingredients. Great rainy day activity.
This kit is great value for money but I think the design on the box could have been made more exciting.
The box arrived wrapped in cellophane and I was disappointed with this unwanted plastic waste. As soon as you remove it, the scents included inside start to waft out — strawberry, mint and watermelon.
The different coloured tubes that you use to store the lip balm did remind me of lipstick tubes because they are so thin. I think little screw-top pots would have been better. There are ten tubes and twelve labelling stickers so you have a couple to spare. The stickers let you label the scent and add to the idea of making lip balm for friends.
The instructions are clear and there are supporting videos online too. Adult supervision is required as you need to melt the beeswax chips in the microwave and, of course, this all gets rather hot. Each batch you mix up will fill 3-5 tubes so I’m expecting the set to last beyond the ten tubes provided.
This kit is great fun and would make a lovely gift that girls can then gift to their friends. All you need is included and I like that there is a science element behind this too as you experiment with different scent ratios. I would recommend this for ages 7 and upwards but adult help will still be needed.
I think the packaging is misleading because it does not really convey the excitement of the pack. In conclusion, even though personally I am not a fan of the scents, this is a lovely set for girls.
Apart from the fact that the scents smell quite synthetic, this is a fabulous set. Our six year old has had a blast (no microwave pun intended) in making some of these.
There is enough of the oils butter and wax to make the entire ten tubes in the set. There isn’t much room for error, unless you plan to purchase extra ingredients.
The instructions are well laid out and our little one can experiment, to a certain degree by mixing the oils/waxes to acheive either a thicker set or a smoother balm. For the bases you have:
* shea butter
* beeswax
* and the olive oil.
The three fragrances included are:
* watermelon
* mint
* strawberry
The set also includes:
* a pipette
* a scoop
* a small cylindrical silicone beaker of about 150ml
* a wooden spatula
* a set of stickers to label your balm sticks with flavour and the creator’s name.
It’s fairly simple to make – heat the contents in the included soft little beaker adding your fragrance/flavour. Pour into the stick mould and allow to set.
Very realistic lip balms that twists upwards and back down again.
5 stars
8 year old loved making her own lip balm. The only time I had to help out was when heating. The balm and mixing cup gets really hot during the melting process, and as my daughter drops everything, I handled the mixing cup.
Instructions are comprehensive and include tips on how to change the consistency to your preference. You have the option to make the balm harder or softer and to choose your flavour by mixing or just adding one of the 3 flavours.
Product smells lovely and fruity, even before you open. Presentation of the box does let it down slightly, especially if you plan on giving as a present, but the actual product is much better than the box makes it look.
I originally intended a friend’s young daughter to test this – but my wife got excited and wanted it.
The packaging is fairly plain and possibly wouldn’t make a young child excited – pictures on the front of someone making the lip-balm would have been better. It’s nicely sealed though, and can’t leak in transit.
Inside you get the ingredients to make kip-balm just like you’d buy ready-made. You’ve only a choice of three scents/flavours, mint Watermelon and strawberry but you can leave them plain or add your own if you have any food flavouring additives lying about.
It’s a fairly simple process and would be good for children young enough to be trusted applying their own lip balm (6ish I’d say, depending on the child). Results were a success and 10 for little over 10 at time of review means they aren’t actually too bad value either!
My wife gave this a quick go with our grand-daughter, and was very impressed with it.
“The instructions could not be clearer, the contents are clearly labelled, and with ten colourful casings for the finished lip balms they are a joy to make. It is so lovely to produce something that can actually be used and enjoyed. The tubes are a good size, far larger than the ones you can buy in the shops, so in theory they should last a lot longer.
You get everything you need, including a pipette to fill the casings, a mixing cup, a scoop and a stir stick- there is nothing else you need to provide.
The flavourings are just what children want: mint, watermelon and strawberry, and the ingredients (beeswax, shea butter and olive oil) are all natural.
You also get some stickers so you can label your lip balms with the flavour they are to give away as gifts to friends and family.
Excellent value at just under 1 per stick for your child to make homemade gifts or keep them for their own use. Made with all natural ingredients, too.”
