eally does make the border look neat and tidy. Very impressed with the look. We have now purchased 4 of these to go round our borders, will probably buy some more when the plants have died back in the cooler months. Highly recommend this produc
Good quality and very sturdy. Perfect for what I used it for.
easy to use but I would not try to use it on a very hot day like I did because it gets very hot and burns your fingers when you touch i
A very good well made product, easy to install on damp earth, very good value.
I have used this product before and will always use in future. It is easy to put in place, just get a spade or edging tool and a straight line eg. a plank and make a vertical dig pushing the soil forwards to make a shallow trench. the edging can then be put against the vertical side and backfilling the soil secures it. Sturdy enough to use a lawnmower right up against it. Keeps the lawn weeds out of my veg patches.
Great but ensure you have a good bit of wood twixt the edging and hammer blow, to distribute the energy of the blow more evenly (otherwise it can buckle). Also, ensure that you have cut the turf or ground (quite deeply) into which you are putting the energy. I hope all this makes sense!
I bought this item as a pest control measure, not the products intended use. The image they use is very misleading and to be honest it looks quite flimsy, however I took a chance and look at my image. The ribs are 12mm wide and serve to make it much more rigid than their photo would suggest. Perfect for my use. just be careful opening the pack, it’s like a tightly wound spring and unwraps itself quickly, keep fingers clear.
Unfortunately made in China, but seems good quality and sturdy. Needed something longer lasting than log edging or plastic edging which I’d imagine gets brittle over time and snaps.
Very easy to lay and if it doesn’t rust it will be just what I’ve needed for a long time. Installing it – best cut a groove first with a spade then it’s easy to tap it in place. I started using a piece of wood between lump hammer and edging, but found it more effective to just tap it in directly. Also pop in place and work along slowly knocking it roughly in to position then repeat so it’s level and doesn’t bend or twis
If you are going to use this product, I found it was best to create a slot in the ground first. Easy to cut using a pair of tin snips.
Product despatched quickly. arrived late because Hermes/Evri mislaid it. Having previously used this it makes a very neat edging. Easy to use as long as you precut the slot so that stones can be located. It is best to use a length of wood on the top edge to prevent damage, working from one end. Also remember you will need tin snips to cut the edgingto length. I also used wooden pegs to support the edging until it has properly bedded in.
Used to hopefully prevent foxes and badgers digging under the fence. Slightly difficult to install when roots and rocks are in the way.
With some weathering it should blend in well.
Easy to install but very hard to cut, even with metal cutters.
Good border edging as a plastic equivalent eventually shattered when I was strimming the lawn. Easy enough to install except in this dry weather, better to do in spring or late Autumn when the ground is softer.
Unless you have really soft soil, you will have to dig; but does stand up to a little bashing with a wooden mallet. If you cut it, it is very sharp – I used a mini grinder wheel on a drill.
These work really well. In previous years the edge of the lawn would merge with the flower bed. This looks like a permanent solution and also makes mowing along the lawn edge really easy. I did find installing it hard work. I had hoped to tap it in with a mallet but, because there were so many large stones in the earth, I had to dig a trench as deep as the edging strip, install the strip and then backfill on the flowerbed side and, to a lesser extent, at the edge of the lawn. I installed 1 strips, and the second was fairly easy to cut with a hacksaw. Good metal shears would have been easier but I don’t have any. I would recommend these edging strips and will use them again if I want to make another flowerbed.
I found it reasonably easy to fit. It’s easiest to cut with a pair of tinsnips, using a hacksaw would be difficult, the edges both top and bottom are rounded over which leaves a safe exposed surface, I used a spade to create a slot to slip the edging in and tapped it in fully placing a strip of timber along a stretch then using a rubber mallet to finish level with the lawn edge
I used this for edging in my garden. Very good product – looks good and it’s sturdy. For part of my garden I cut the height down by half due to roots/rocks underground. It cut easily with some tin snips (also Amazon) and also retained its strength when I hammered it down. I’m now on my fourth roll of this stuff. Highly recommended!
I bought this to edge a small flower bed I’ve made at my allotment as I didn’t want to spend all summer re edging it. Once its in the ground a few inches its really sturdy and I’m sure will hold up against me strimming, but it is a pain to install, even with my very light sandy soil. You need to pin it in place with a few sticks them hammer it into the ground, it took me about 20 minutes for the 5m roll. Definitely worth it though because it’s going to save me a lot of work over the summe
Good for my gardening business as it makes nice quick easy and manageable borders downside no pins it needs digging in however once in its very sturdy and looks great!
It’s quite sturdy and looks great once installed. You will need tin snips or a hacksaw to cut it and the cut edges are sharp. I found that putting the garden spade along the route the edging was going to be fitted about 6 inches deep worked best. The edging could then be slipped easily into the narrow trench and tapped down with the flat back of the spade. The 5 metres took me about 30 minutes in total to install.
Easy to fit as long as the ground is fairly soft, otherwise using a tool to open a small trench to push the edging into first will work. I finished off tapping down the top of the edging using a hammer onto a small piece of wood to prevent damage to the top rim.
End result- firm, even, nice looking edge, very pleased with the result.
Strong enough of you dig a trench for it first.
Wear gloves some sharp edges where you cut it..
If you need to join it drill small holes in the ends and use small nuts and bolts to join.
You don’t have to do this but it will keep it together and looking neat.
