The box and game appears to have been updated and now is recommended for 4 year olds and up not 3 year olds. Can’t comment further as was purchased for a gift.
Has been great to replace evening screen time with a couple of games of this!
Xmas present for my grandson age 4 we have fun playing the game it keeps his attention especially as he keeps winning!!
Bought as christmas present for grandchildren as the love the Gruffalo – granchildren enjoyed game and as there are two options for levels on how to play the game it made the game more enjoyable for them.
Looks nice and easy for our great granddaughter to handle can’t wait to play it with he
This game is amazing. Takes around 10 minutes to complete so littles ones don’t lose interest. My son gets so excited trying to find the Gruffalo and getting to the finish to grab the nut.
My son has this game (given as a pass me down from a friend). He absolutely loves it. So when he was invited to his friends birthday party I knew I had to get her this game.
It is simple to play. The dice rolls either 1,2 or 3 (discovered as my husband questioned why we were all rolling such small numbers!). You move round the board and take a chance looking under a tree when you land on certain numbers. There is little skill needed so both children enjoy playing equally!
Perfect for a family holiday or a quick game to enjoy as a young family
My son (age 4) and I really like this game. He doesn’t have the best attention span so the simplicity of it works for us. Technically it’s a 4 player game but realistically it is best suited to 2. The dice only has the numbers 1-3 repeated over it which is a bit too simple but this is easily replaced. The colours of the board are bright and vibrant and my son loves lining the little trees up in their spots. It has been really great for encouraging turn taking. As the item suggests I would say 3+ is appropriate.
This is mine and my daughters favourite game to play. She is 4 and has grasped the game very easily. Instructions are very clear and the game is fun, especially if you love the gruffalo as much as we do. We play this as much as possible, even if we have a spare 5 minuets while waiting for tea to cook.
Great little game, perfect for the little ones. Big sis even enjoyed it at age 6, but at 5 and 7 they have pretty much grown out of it, as sadly once big sis says it’s babyish it loses it’s appeal. Sigh.
My nearly 4 year old finds it hard to concentrate and hates learning numbers so this was really tricky for her to be honest. Even though I explained she doesn’t have to recognise all the numbers on the board she still hates this game for the fact that she has to follow basic rules of throw the dice (0-3) and move character along the board that many times. Such a shame because the game itself is lovely and simple.
It’s alright. It’s a small and quick game for younger kids. It had different levels of “difficulty” so you can change it up. It’s a good novelty thing as a one off but it’s not particularly a game you would play a lot.
We bought this for my two and a half year old daughter and had a lot of fun playing it, as a family, along with our 6 year old son.
Great for teaching children about counting, memory retention and, most importantly, taking turns.
My 3 yr old grandson has learnt how to play this game fairly easily using the instructions for the younger children. Problem is he wants to land on the picture steps , and obviously wants to win everytime! He also plays with the game as a toy on his own. It is pretty sturdy and well thought out, particularly the dice going up to number 3 only.
