Didn’t let rain in on Scottish holiday. Only disadvantage is you must take shoes off to get them on. Handy to have when you must go out in rain. Enjoy!
The trousers were good but too large.
The returns procedure should have been simple but wasn’t.
There was no email sent with QR code and post office instructions,
there was a returns instruction in the browser complete with QR code. Tried to do a print but QR image would not register.
In the end I did a screen grab and printed that. I hope the PO is able to scan as it is a little blurred.
Not the usual smooth Amazon op
Great trousers. XL size fit 38-40 inch waste with 32 inch inside leg
They fit well but if in doubt size-wise go up a size.
I used these straight out of the box to go walkies but after 15 minutes got caught in a torrential rain storm. These performed 100% ok. Warm and dry
They really are lightweight so beware of thorns and the like. With Amazon ‘Try before you Buy’ you can’t really go wrong. Has to be five stars
The waist size is fine, but quite snug around the thighs
They are a bit snug if you’re wearing bulky trousers underneath. Okay if tracksuit bottoms for example. Holes in the side for pocket access are good but open up too much when tight.
The old version was great, I kept two pairs on my motorbike trousers at all times, why 2 you say? Well, with the amount of miles I do and the terrible weather it was asking alot for just one pair to handle so 2 pairs was just being safe.
Now with the new version I’d need 5 or 6 pairs to have any hope of staying dry. If you can imagine having no trousers on standing out in the rain then you are on the way to imagining the quality of these… they rip like paper too which is no surprise judging how thin they are
I commute and always bring these along with me. Haven’t used in heavy rain yet but for moderate they did keep my normal trousers underneath bone dry. Wear them backwards though otherwise water will get to your pockets.
The reviews here are right, if you wear them the proper way around while cycling. Your thighs will be drenched. Do yourself a favour, wear them backwards and your problems will be solved.
Easy to put on and easy to stow away. It ticks all the boxes. No more soaked trousers when walking the dog!
Very comfortable to walk your dog in the muddy woods. Easy to put on over your jeans. My husband is slim 180 cm tall and Large fits him very well. I’m 156 cm and Medium is great. They look slightly baggy ( not a problem) and keep you dry, warm and protected from muddy paws. Haven’t worn these trousers in the heavy rain so can’t comment on how waterproof they are.
Ordered these as motorcycle overtrousers for inclement weather and have nothing but positive praise for them. They’re easy to wear and even slide over my boots. I’ve ridden multiple times in pouring rain for over an hour and never had any leaks.
Read somewhere that wearing them backwards (easy to do as no obvious branding) will help keep pockets dry, but had no issues wearing them normally.
They pack away into a really easy to carry, small, bag too that is constantly in my backpack for when I need them
Not as thick as my previous pair, but very lightweight for storage. Nit much play in the waustband.
Drips into shoes off trousers so wet feet but dry legs
Bought for protection when walking to work. They’ve been through some horrendous heavy rain and gales and I’m always bone dry thanks to these trousers. I bought a couple of sizes larger than normal so they’d comfortably fit over my work trousers. Cannot recommend them enough. Very lightweight and fit into my handbag nicely ready for the next downpour. Arrived on time and good quality. These trousers have been a game changer for me. I can be confident I’ll arrive in work warm and dry!
Bought this for dog walking. I’m usually a size 16 (ladies) and after checking on the regatta website for sizes, I bought an X-LARGE men’s. They are loose enough to walk comfortably in.
Very lightweight but are waterproof. No zip at bottom of leg but it does open up a bit then there is a stud to fasten it closer to the ankle.
I love these waterproofs, they’re quick to put on over my work trousers and they’ve been brilliant keeping me dry on my bike rides to and from work. I would definitely recommend both this product and seller.
Product is exactly as described, pleased with especially in view of the competitive price. Less pleased with Amazon delivery missing the day it was meant to be delivered. When you pay 4+ on postage you expect the damn thing to arrive on time.
got to wash/clean the garden and help at family farm. bein a bigger/fuller person i got 2xl on caution but should’ve got 3xl. i read reviews and thought id got the right size.
they do fit but I won’t be jumping over gates/fences as there simply isn’t enough space in them.
This was good product and it does the job perfectly. The quality is still acceptable for the money. The only issue is the pockets are inverted. So you have to wear this the other way around and it works perfectly
I got two pairs of these so I could wear one out and keep a spare pair for future use. Each comes in its own little bag and they are tiny when packed away. Though they seem very flimsy they haven’t suffered any thorn rips yet, but even a tougher pair of pants might get ripped so it’s more about being careful – without the pants it would be your skin ripping!
Other reviews complained about the pockets in the front, saying you should wear the pants backwards, but I found they are in a good position in the front to access pockets, in the rain a rain coat hanging down would be covering the slits so no water gets in – and without it surely it would make no difference whether the slits were on the front or the back; water would still get in. And of course if your waterproof pants have holes in the back and you sit down on something wet… No, the front slit design is perfect!
Waited a few months before reviewing. Live in Scotland, so there are two rules: (1) if you don’t like the weather wait five minutes and (2) there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes. These trousers fit the bill on both counts:
They’re lightweight but robust, so easy to carry and they go on (just) over my size eleven, nearly water proof trainers (these will be reviewed elsewhere!) without taking the trainers off, so easy to change into and out of “on the hoof”.
There are a few comments about the pockets being front-facing. That’s certainly odd – to be fair. However, “wear them back to front” works fine and in any case you should be wearing a jacket of the right length to cover the pockets however they’re designed or they’ll fill with rain regardless. To be blunt, short “bomber jacket” jacket types have no place when you’re 700m or more up a hill. You need practical and efficient clothes and that’s what these trousers give you – and they look good too.
I rarely give five star reviews but these deserve it.
Took the advice to order bigger than required. Wish I hadn’t. Would normally wear M/L so ordered XL.
They were massive!! I think the design takes into account you are going to wear these over normal trousers.
I have had to apply for a refund and reorder which is frustrating and cover return postage, so I haven’t actually saved anything in the long run. Not the fault of the supplier but frustrating nonetheless.
Overall quality and dispatch time was excellent, so I would still recommend purchasing the item.
Bought these Sunday and Wednesday rode 3.7 miles to work in a deluge and 20mph headwind in mild autumn weather. Came home in another deluge with the wind behind me. The water got through my old
Berghaus jacket in two spots, but not through the trousers on either journey. I followed reviewer James Upton’s very sensible advice to wear them backwards. For cycling it makes damn all difference which way round you wear them anyway – can’t imagine any cyclist needs access to their front trouser pockets while cycling. I did get wet feet, however. I was wearing brogues, so puddles and the headwind would probably have done that anyway. Buying two sizes larger rather than one might have given me bit more leg length (or maybe it wouldn’t have made any difference with my choice of shoes). Next time I’ll wear boots. Despite the warmth I was comfortable and didn’t feel sweaty in them after my 25min cycle through all that rain.
I’m definitely happy with them if they can leave me bone dry after two 25-minute bike rides in heavy rain and strong wind. Sure, the pocket slits are a concern if your cycling but wearing them backwards seems to solve that issue. I’ll try them the right way around at some point to see for myself, though as I say it hardly matters which way round they are – from a comfort and aesthetic point of view.
Storm Franklin Update, 20/02/22:
Rode to work in the early evening. The wind was in my face and driving rain the whole way there – took me 30 mins. Wind gusts ranged from 49-60mph, according to Met Office chart for location and time. I had the trousers on backwards again and stayed bone dry. If ever the water was going to get in the pocket holes it was a night like this. I guess you just need a coat/jacket long enough. My jacket is, if anything, a bit short for me. But I’m thoroughly satisfied so I’m amending my rating from 4 to 5.
Update May 2023.
Went through a heavy shower at rush hour. Vans and lorries going normal speed, not slowing at all, were chucking bucket loads of water at me as I cycled some yards away on a cycle path. I was hit three or four times. I fully expected to get soaked but neither my legs nor feet in boots were wet when I arrived at work.
These are still working great, no water in the pocket slits, whichever way round I wear them, but usually stick to wearing them backwards. Would still recommend them.
Fitted nicely, had seen some comments about the pockets at the front letting in water and yes could see how that would happen if you are on a cycle or motorbike as the sitting position will open up the pockets to the elements, however I only wanted to use them for walking or wading in the sea surf with wellies, so no problems with the pockets which to be honest are a plus when reaching in your pocket for car keys or your wallet. Be careful though when putting things back in you pocket as easy to think you have reached your trouser pocket, but keys or wallet go sliding down your leg.
