Very strong vacuum function which was my primary buying trigger. I only shave every 10 days so it has a tough job with me but does it brilliantly. They claim 95% success which I agree with.
Some reviewers complain about the noise level. It’s not that bad! It has a higher pitch than an ordinary electric razor because of the vacuum pump, but it’s not unbearable. There have also been complaints about the flimsiness of the comb adjuster. It does need careful handling but no worse than when cleaning my previous Phillips. The vacuum is extremely effective as others have said – no mess! Cleaning is simple and much easier than my previous Phillips. An excellent vacuum trimmer – recommended!
This is nice build, and definitely easy to use, is not most precision but if you get with promotion is good value for money, battery is very good , easy to clea
Bought as a gift for my brother and this is what he said
The hoover aspect of it is great. Does have a tendency to pull hairs if you shave too quickly but otherwise good.
Battery life is excellent!
Had a previous Remington vacuum shave which i replaced because the battery didnt last more than 2-3 minutes by the end. I hadn’t realised how blunt the blades were as this cuts through butter by comparison.
The positives are the battery, sharp blades, vacuum feature and the handy case.
Negatives are that it doesnt pick up as many trimmings as before (but still 90%) and that the head is bulkier, so harder to trim between mouth and nose.
Overall I’m pleased and wished I’d upgraded sooner. Price was great (hence why Amazon pays a tiny amount of UK tax).
I recently purchased the Remington Men’s Beard trimmer and I absolutely love it. The trimmer has an excellent battery life, which is great for me since I use it frequently. It’s also very easy to use for all types of body shaving, whether it’s a beard trim or body hair. The trimmer is well-designed and fits comfortably in my hand, allowing for easy maneuverability. I also found the price to be reasonable compared to other trimmers on the market. Overall, I highly recommend the Remington Men’s Beard trimmer for anyone in need of a reliable and easy-to-use grooming tool.
Due to mixed reviews, I was reticent about buying this, but did so because the excellent Phillips vacuum beard trimmer which has given me years of effective service is no longer available; I’m glad I did. The strength of the vacuum seems better than the Philips was, and the blades cut neatly. On the other hand, it is a more complex and less intuitive design than the Philips, making it less convenient to use; the setting for beard length is fiddly and the comb part flexes making it harder to obtain an even cut. Overall, given that the Philips is no longer available, this is a good enough product for those of us wanting a vacuum beard trimmer.
Straight to the point, can feel a bit bulky but you will get used to it. I would let my beard grow to a few millimetres and then use a razor to shave it off and it would take me ages. Cleaning the mess afterwards took as long as shaving.
But with the Remington i trimmed my beard close to skin within minutes and it caught 95% of the hair in the vacuum compart. Yes there was some hair that fell into the sink but very little.
Super easy to clean, just detach the compartment off the trimmer and rinse underwater. There is also a precise trimmer to line the beard up, works very well.
Definitely worth the money.
I had been using a Philips BT7500 vacuum trimmer for the past five years, but since two have failed and are now discontinued, I decided to try this Remington trimmer.
The main reason I didn’t go for this trimmer before is that there’s no mention of it cutting shorter than 2mm, and I needed something that cuts to at least 0.5mm, like the Philips. Well, I’m pleased to see that the bare blade cuts to around 0.3 to 0.4mm, which is excellent. The suction of the vacuum is also better than the Philips. You can feel the suction on your face when using it, and there’s no evidence of hair in the sink.
The quality of this trimmer seems similar to the Philips, but the zippered case is superior to the drawstring pouch included with the Philips.
I use this in combination with the excellent Philips OneBlade. The OneBlade provides a clean and close shave allowing you to trim and shape stubble, so you don’t need a wet razor.
Overall, I’m impressed with this Remington trimmer and highly recommend it.
As per the picture, it catches 90% which is why I got it for. That is 4 weeks of no shaving there.
Battery is perfect. Charged it last month and it still full of charge.
Felt a bit bulky in my hand especially after my previous tiny clipper, but it is light so not a big of a deal.
I moved to this after using the Philips equivalent for years and having to to go through a few shavers due to the issue about the plastic clips which always break. This feels much more sturdy and where they have used plastic seems a lot better.
The vacuum part will still miss some hairs, but seeing how much gets collected, I am glad the vacuum option is there. The battery lasts a long time, and I how you can set the length and it stays locked in.
Very happy so far after a few months of use.
Over all the beard trimmer works well and the trimmings collect quite well. The only problem is the trimmings collector means you can’t get into tight spaces such as around your nose without taking the collection bin off.
Easy to use nice storage bag, the beard trimming is good but sometimes you have to keep going over the same place to trim well, edging cutting still working on that to make it work well.
Works well so far. No reason to think it will break easily. Seems well made and deigned. Only negative is it is noisy in comparison to the previous Phillips models i have owned. However the hair suction is greater on the Remington over the Phillips, causing more noise. All of the 3 Phillips vacuum shavers (of different designs) broke due to small plastic tabs breaking. Last set the tabs which hold the blades snapped. Unit before was the comb height adjuster snapping. This unit seems better made, sturdy and heavier.
Does what it says. Still gets a few hairs drifting but it’s not magic! Battery life is ok so far. The bulk of it might not suit small handed people but considering it’s aimed at beard shaving that will normally mean a man sized hand. For this price if 30 I don’t think u can go wrong with it really. The cut will not be as crisp as from a dedicated corded high quality clipper but it cuts and keeps majority of clippings in that disposable cap do it’s all good really.
Bought this after the Philips equivalent broke on second use (the clipper pins broke off – very disappointing). This in this Remington however – I cant see any weak points in the construction. The fence adjustment is a bit crude unlike the Phillips that was rather neat in that respect. But once you get the hang of of it (push it to the bottom and then move the fence out in clicks until desired lenght).
Like most clippers the fence flexes. Perhaps a little more than usual so you need to be light on the hand to make sure it cuts evently, but it wouldnt stop me from recommending it.
Also the 95% vacuum rate is true i would say. The Philips only vacuumed 60-70%.
If the fence was a bit better i’d give it 5 star as it would be the perfect beard clipper. So for now only 4 solid stars. Hopefully this Remington will be with me longer than a week like the Philips.
Most of this type of product have little information about the size of the cutting heads and I was looking for something that was smaller than the usual hair clippers and decided to take a chance on this.
I am glad that I did because I feel it works really well, including the vacuum collection feature. The instructions claim that it collects up to 95% of clippings if the 6mm length is selected. That is the length that I currently use and I would say the claim is pretty accurate, with only a very few stray clippings falling into the sink.
The main cutting head is about 3 cm wide (the unit itself only slightly wider), but you also get a separate detail head included which is 2 cm wide. The comb attachment works well enough and offers cutting lengths of 2,3,4,5,6,8,10,12,16 & 18 mm.
It doesn’t take too long to charge and seems to last for the claimed hour of cordless use. I am really impressed with this and hope it lasts, but with a 3+1 year guarantee, it should give value for money.
What to say? It trims well, battery lasts between charges and (in this case) I suppose one of the most important features is the vacuum, well this works as advertised – doesn’t catch everything but it does get the vast majority. I suppose your mileage may vary depending on type of beard etc..
Have to dock a star because the vacuum does make the trimmer slightly unwieldy compared to conventional trimmers.
The extra size is ok and something you quickly get used to, the problem is the top lip area where the extra bulk gets in the way.
Overall this is recommended as long the above provisos are taken note of.
To summarise;
+ Vacuum system works pretty well (probably the main reason i opted for this over other options)
+ Blades are effective and cut with ease. No need for oiling is also a good headache saved
+ Feels nice in the hand and looks pretty good.
+ Handy storage bag comes with it to keep shaver, charger and additional tools in one place
– The stubble length adjustment isnt ideal and I would much prefer a digitalised versionlike my older Babyliss istubble models. It can be hard to adjust to your chosen length and you need very good eyesight to be able to see what length it is currently set on.
So essentially if you don’t mind the fiddly nature of adjusting lengths , then it is a great trimmer with an effective vacuum to contain the usual mess that arises when trimming.
