Having spend 25 to 30 per year on branded (hozelock etc ) only for them to break within a year I purchased this one at more than half the price and it feels better and actually works better.
After buying three spray heads from Hozelock, all of which split down the plastic seam on the handle this product works well and the handel grip is made in one solid piece.
I’ve had plenty of ‘brand name’ spray heads for the garden hose. This one seems very solid, it’s certainly pretty heavy. the handle lock is simple and metal, not the usual plastic of the big brands. Very happy with it so far.
I have many ‘plastic’ hose guns and ALL have split or failed; this new sprayer looks and feels industrial. The most common issues with the plastic is sprayers, is that they split and leak and cannot be repaired so are re-cycled not good these days, so wait for the deal and purchase for lowest fee.
A decent garden hose spray attachment
Its put together reasonably well albeit the connector is a bit plasticky
It’s easy to connect and works just fine, it’s comfortable to hold and easy to use
The price is reasonable and it’s worth trying
The Restom hosepipe spray gun is marketed as heavy duty and I can confirm it most definitely is. With its metal body, as opposed to the all plastic of other hosepipe spray guns, this Restom version is tough, durable and feels quality.
This hosepipe spray gun is ergonomic, comfortable to use and the silicon/rubber grips ensures it stays firmly in my hands, even when wet. You can control the water pressure using the thumb control on the back of the spray gun which makes it a one-handed device. The trigger lock feature means you don’t have to hold the trigger back in use. The trigger lock is a small advantage for me however if you suffer with arthritis, weak hands or some other medical condition I can see how this trigger lock feature would be an essential feature.
There are 7 spray patterns available and whilst this is a feature some people will find useful it is a bit of an overkill for my needs. As long as I have access to a mist spray and a heavier spray I am happy, and this hose head offers both of these.
I also like the additional weight over and above the typical lightweight plastic hose heads. All in all I have no complaints over the usability.
Included in the packet are two spare rubber seals, which should elongate the life a bit.
Compared to other similar spray guns the Restom hosepipe spray gun is expensive but given the superb build quality and features this is to be expected and it gives a lot of bang for the buck.
Overall the Restom hosepipe spray gun is an excellent bit of kit and one I highly recommend to anyone requiring a product to water the lawn, hedges, plants, shrubs, wash down patios and paths and generally keeping the outdoor area clean.
Disclaimer: I am privileged enough to be part of the Amazon Vine program and as such I have the opportunity request products that I would find useful/potentially buy to road test in exchange for an honest review. I am not paid for this and all of my reviews are unbiased and based on my own personal experience using the product.
I’ve gone through a couple of spray guns in the last couple of years as they’ve simply not lasted all that well.
These were the spray guns that came with extending hoses (of which I have 2) and although the hoses have been decent quality, the actual guns have not stood the tests of time unfortunately.
I wash my car quite often and sometimes drop the spray gun to the floor whilst washing and rinsing the car which inevitably leads to the gun breaking from repeated dropping (my bad) but it’s not like I throw the gun to the floor so in my opinion the spray guns should be harder wearing. I’m hoping this heavy duty spray gun priced at just under 20 at time of review will be able to cope with my car washing routine and it looks like it might just outlive the hose I’ve attached to it.
The gun was simple enough to pop onto the hose with a nominal type and size of connection that is pretty universal nowadays and hasn’t shown any signs of dripping or leaking.
The spray patterns are clearly defined on the nozzle and water comes out pretty well with lots of patterns to choose from for watering the garden to washing the car.
Most spray guns tend to have the same water patterns such as jet, mist, rainfall etc etc and this is no different.
The build quality seems strong and indeed heavy duty with the nozzle and flow regulator all feeling much tougher and a good feel to the trigger as well, although there is a little bit of side to side play in the trigger hinge.
I’m not overly keen on the buckle design to keep the trigger in the on position but it serves the purpose and again feels solid.
Most of the gun is metal and makes me feel assured that the usual bits on a spray gun (made from plastic) that generally break or wear out quickly such as the flow regulator and trigger will last longer than the cheap guns that come with most hose kits.
I’m not sure I’d pay the nearly 20 (at time of this review) for this gun though as I feel that for this price the gun should be much heavier duty. That said it does look like it’ll be a winner when it comes to repeated use around the garden and car washing and a much heavier feel to this spray gun indicates that this is indeed a more solid build I am rating it at 4 stars.
The Restmo Garden Hose Nozzle is a heavy nozzle that has a good finish and feels solid – all solid apart from the trigger which seems flimsy and has some side-to-side movement.
The nozzle consists of a metal spray-covered base. The sprayer head is plastic with a surround of what Restmo calls rubber – but it is very hard for rubber and may be a combination of rubber and plastic.
There is also a plastic water control lever which can limit the flow of water.
Using the hose nozzle it did not leak and it was easy to turn the sprayer head and the water control lever.
The buckle worked well albeit a little fiddly to attach for a continuous spray.
All the spray options were consistent with the photos in the advert.
I mainly use shower and cone settings in the garden. It is winter in the UK so although I have tested it – only robust use will determine its durability – so I will revise this review if any problems occur.
So far a good quality functional produc
This is a heavy duty piece of kit. It is made substantially of metal, compared to cheaper, primarily plastic options. I picked it to replace a plastic spray gun which didn’t survive the winter! This one also comes with a pair of replacement rubber seals to increase the potential lifespan.
The spray gun has a selection of spray patterns to choose from, as you would expect. It also has a small rotating lever to control the flow of water and you can look the handle in place for constant spraying. There were no connectors supplied but fortunately the one on the end of spray gun clicked straight into the connector I already had on the end of the hose.
I would not say it is particularly ergonomically design – the main body of the handle is just a straight tube rather than shaped to fit your hand. I suspect this is the trade off for a metal design compared to a plastic one that would be easier to shape.
