This paint is amazingly quick to use, quite non drip, but best to not overfill the brush. I used it outdoors to rejuvenate a metal patio table and four chairs, which was rusting after a few years use. After cleaning the lot, and it was dry, I painted the whole lot in two mornings, unfortunately it rained in the afternoon, and it is still looking as good as new, even after all the wind and rain in the last few weeks. Would highly recommend

When it arrived the lid was loose ,howevcer there was no leak and I must say that the quality of this paint is super. Really dense back and finishes to a nice matt. I am using reclaimed pallet wood at the moment so the finish is a lille rough, bit a light sanding does the job. Highly recommended.

Currently can’t use due to minus temps, however I’ve used in the past and it’s ok. Easy to use and durable in use. Just slapped it straight on over the previous coat. Garage door.

Needed to touch up some exterior woodwork so gave this a go due to the low price. Just a small area of exposed external woodwork near the porch, so hardly used any from this small tin. The finish is fantastic. Easy to go on, easy to clean up afterwards and the paint dries quickly with a lovely soft sheen that looks superb. I was so impressed I thought I’d give it a go on some ancient plastic downpipes that were flaky and looking tired. A quick rub down to smooth them and painted them with Rustins and WOW! I swear it looks like I’ve installed new downpipes straight from the shop. Couldn’t recommend this stuff highly enough, excellent product.

The paint arrived very quickly. Hubby wire brushed the gates an gave them 2 coats. They dried very quickly. It went on easily and appeared to be a gloss, although it dried to a semi sheen. We are very pleased with it, and would recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI wanted this paint for a cane conservatory chair and wanted a silk finish. I used liquid sander first then followed up with this paint. Stir it really really well first and you get the silk finish rather than gloss.
Dries super quick. Really pleased with the result!

5.0 out of 5 stars Transformed a cane chair!!

I needed this paint for some posts and metal gate attachments outside the front of our house. It is excellent, really easy to apply and when dry it looks fantastic, really impressed and will buy more in the future for other jobs.

Used this over Rustin’s grey primer on some plywood used to make soffit vent replacement panels. The primer and this satin black were both competitively priced. Stirred easily and applied easily using synthetic brush. Two coats of both primer and this paint left a nice smooth satin finish to match the existing finish on the soffit boards. Time will tell how durable the finish is

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI was a little worried about people saying this was very thin. Mostly as I wanted to paint it inside, and didn’t want spatter. Thankfully it goes down beautifully with a gloss roller (foam). This is hidrafugal MDF and it isn’t cheap. I don’t think it needed sealing with Rustin’s MDF sealer but I did it any way as a precaution. This paint is so good that I didn’t even need to use a primer.

I can’t vouch for the longevity as obviously I have just put it down, but it will be on a speaker. Just the bottom and inside the port duct area. I wasn’t expecting it to look this good.

Amazing how far paint has come. Cleanup was so easy, just warm water !

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb finish

Brilliant would definitely recommend and very little odour witch is just fantastic. 500ml went very far at all. It drys very quickly and leaves a lovely finish. It also will not chip easily witch is a massive bonus.

Didn’t think I’d have enough but with this Tin I managed to do 2 bannisters, a landing frame and a front door all with several coats! Oh plus a small radiator!
    I’ll be buying another soon.

Arrived safely prior to stated date. Followed instructions and it does what it says on tin. Cant comment on longevity as I have just applied to wooden garden gate so will have to see, but based on experience so far I would by agai

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThis stuff is -really- good. Smelly, but dries fast and does the job. I used it to cover an interesting mess of wood, stone & rough, sandy concrete and it covered all of them in an almost-flat black in one coat. A couple of reviews have noted that this stuff is runny: it isn’t, or at least not if the instructions are followed (stir, stir and stir again!). It is plenty thick enough and a very easy consistency to use. I used a fibreglassing brush, which is probably the worst possible quality to use, and the results were great. If I need more messes to paint almost-flat black, I shall be using this.

Painted my bannisters and stairs, beautiful colour, covered over various bases , bare wood, , undercoat, gloss etc , I would advise a coat of varnish to protect against chipping in some areas .

Brilliant paint. Not too drippy, just don’t overload your brush. Covered the wood parts outside my house with one coat, did a second coat for good measure. Also painted two iron gates with ease. All with one can. Definitely recommend this product.

Excellent paint. Just prepare your surface and make sure it’s clean. Paint easy to apply & brushes can be washed in water. As for longevity not sure so can’t comment. Thanks

Excellent quality paint! A lot of water based satins are tricky to work with and can gum up quickly without opportunity to ‘lay-off’ and get a nice smooth finish. This paint is probably the best to use of the water based paints I’ve used so can very much recommend it. The finish is fantastic, great coverage. Very pleased

I was sceptical pf water based paints prior to using this product on MDF Boared. It dries quickly and the finish is exclent. I suspect that it wor4ks as well on other materialsapart from MDF/

Fantastic paint, quick drying and looks really good. I used it on both wood and metal and the results are really good. Would definitely buy again. It does go along way. I painted two larg gates and a electric and gas box. Great value for money.

Used to turn white woodwork into black. Needs a good key (a quick sand does it) but even then the first coat is streaky and the white shows through – good for the “seedy nightclub” effect! The second coat, however, covers pretty well although there were a few areas that needed a touch up.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSmaller tin than I’d anticipated but it proved to be plenty and did an absolutely smashing job. Two coats of the chest of drawers and plenty left to paint the handles black too.
Would highly recommend this to anyone doing a furniture projec

5.0 out of 5 stars Small tin but big coverage, Tardis Paint!

Very good coverage and easy to apply. Low odour and quick drying.
Only minor niggle is it is a tad more glossy than I expected but did the job and looks good anyway.
