SAFEGUARD Soluguard Woodworm & Rot Treatment (5 Litre Clear

This product is to treat woodworm infestation. It reads good, is easy to apply (spray), said to be non toxic to humans. I’m afraid, however, I can’t report on its efficacy as that will be after long term observation: has it halted the march of the woodworm.

I used this to treat the inside of my garage and expect it will be many years before I know whether it worked or not, so this is more a comment on its ease of use. Reading the label, the instructions are fairly worrying. It seems like this is very dangerous stuff, particularly for the environment. You have to wear full goggle, mask, gloves, etc, when spraying this, and you’re not even supposed to spray it all if you’re using it outside. Then you have to dispose of the container as “hazardous waste”, so i’m looking forward to seeing what the council will charge me for that when the recycling centre is open. So, who knows whether this stuff works but just be ready for what it takes to use it.
