I’m so pleased I made the right decision to purchase these scales, my previous were Salter and never had any problems just fancied a more modern look. These are accurate and so easy to use, bonus that they can be washed without getting any internal damage. Thank you Salter!

It is very easy to use and to clean. It’s very light too.

It took an hour to unscrew the battery compartment the screws were so very tightly fixed I am dreading replacing batteries
The controls are black on black so tbh they can’t be seen I’m groping about trying to return to zero ,etc
They are my dislikes – I like the waterproof feature a lot . The functions are as advertised so ok scales for the price.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this to replace the cheaper Salter 1036 BKSSDR scale, which is great but temporarily stops working when it gets wet.

This waterproof version is sleek with large readable display but it has two simple design flaws that leave me disappointed:
    1. The two touch buttons on the are printed black matte on blank sheen background. Nearly impossible to see unless you have strong directional light. Once you place a bowl on the scale, it blocks the light and the buttons can’t be seen.
    2. Scale relies on 4 small legs on the underside of the scale to sense weight. If part of the scale hangs off the surface it will not measure accurately. This comes into play when trying to measure coffee as its pulling through the espresso machine. The 1036 didn’t have this problem because it had a solid bottom design.

    Neither are deal breakers.

What do you use scales for? We weigh and are happy

Being waterproof makes them so easy to clean and the build quality gives you the feeling they will last.

Good product and waterproof so far though I haven’t been brave enough to run it under the tap.
The buttons aren’t quite clear enough for me hence 4 stars rather than 5

I have bought three sets of these scales for myself and family members. They look good, work well and there are no crevices for food or liquid to spill into. Easy wipe clean. Slightly dished shape.

Excellent water prod scales, that are clear to read and easy to use.

However, i’m knocking off a star because it has a very slightly raised/curved lip around the outside which can lead to some balancing issues with wide based containers.

    Still highly recommend.

Early days, I’ve only used it a few times, but it’s compact, responsive and accurate. Wiped it clean, but don’t imagine I’ll be immersing it in water. Slightly fiddly to change batteries I guess, but screwdriver supplied did the job, when I needed to access the batteries to activate them on receipt.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOne of the reasons I chose this is for the lifetime guarantee which I haven’t had to use -yet. This is a great product it measures accurately and in a range of units of measure. It’s fairly compact and the waterproof feature is an added bonus as is the zero function. Instructions were basic but after reading other reviews I figured out which was the on/off button
    Cons
The battery fitting is problematic and there is a potential for the screw heads to become damaged.- a better screwdriver could fix this perhaps.

Really a great little measuring scale which is indeed waterproof. I have spent so much money on cheaper digital scales in the past which when you wipe them down water manages in get in to the digital display rendering it useless that this one is worth every penny.

This item was sent very quickly to me. As with other reviews don’t bother using the enclosed screwdriver, it’s useless. It’s extremely easy to open the battery compartment with the correct head screwdriver. I have only used the scales a few times and so far it’s been easy to clean them.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this scale as it is waterproof. Have not put it in water but have wiped it clean with a damp cloth. So far so good. Bit of a fiddle to unscrew the battery case and the supplied screwdriver is useless so used my own jewlers one. The platform is a nice size with a slight dish to it which keeps things in place.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI bought this after having a succession of non-destructive electronic scales and managing to kill every last one of them with accidental fluid spillage. I use these several times a day for various reasons, so it’s important to me that I have a working set.

This is relatively expensive, but I’ve reason to believe that in the long run it will be much cheaper. On average, I was having to replace the non-destructive ones every 12-18 months. Whether this is a reflection on my clumsiness in the kitchen though remains to be seen.

These seem like a good, solid set of scales, and I’ve already washed them in the sink several times with no ill effect, so early signs are good. The display is very clear, even in low light, as it’s LED rather than LCD so has its own light.

There’s no obvious on/off/zero button, but this is the button labelled ‘Tare’. Once you know this, everything is straightforward.

There are 3 AAA batteries included, but a plastic tab needs to be removed first that necessitates removing 4 screws to access the battery compartment. There is a small screwdriver included for this, but it’s not a particularly good fit for the screws so if you have a better one it’s worth using this.

The only couple of negative points are the fact that I think the top platform will get quite scratched over time as it seems to be a relatively soft plastic, and the fact that the platform itself is dishes in the middle. While this helps contain spillages, one of my jugs won’t sit flat on it, leading to a possibility of spillage.
