It reads faster than my previous one. I need to keep an eye on my heart rate and oxygen levels. Recently been diagnosed with a heart problem and have had asthma and copd for years

Following a Hospital stay it is important to routinely check certain conditions. This device is easy and quick to use, and read. It does exactly what you want it to.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI recently purchased an oximeter to keep track of my oxygen levels, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in terms of accuracy and reliability. I have tested it against the NHS equivalent within a hospital, giving me the confidence to rely on its readings.

One of the first things that impressed me about this oximeter is its ease of use. The setup process was straightforward, and within seconds of placing my finger in the designated slot, I received a clear and precise reading of my oxygen saturation levels and heart rate. The LED display is bright and easy to read, making it suitable for users of all ages.

The device’s build quality feels sturdy and durable, giving me confidence that it can withstand daily use without any issues. It is also compact and lightweight, making it easily portable and convenient to carry around wherever I go.

In terms of user-friendliness, the oximeter is designed to be intuitive, making it accessible even for individuals who are not tech-savvy. The one-button operation simplifies the process, and the auto-shutdown feature helps conserve battery life.

Overall I am pleased with my purchase and would recommend to others.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAfter leaving hospital following a major lung operation, I thought it might be a good idea to check oxygen levels following breathing exercises I was given to complete. This unit is perfect, so easy to use and gives an incentive to keep working on breathing properly. Salter is a highly distinguished name amongst measuring gizmos and I’d have no hesitation in recommending this product. to anyone who just wants an effective and simple item to use. Brilliant.

Brought one of those cheap versions on lockdown but was never sure of its accuracy as it was slow to perform the test. This one is fast and reliable as it was 1st in a top 10 review for reliability and accuracy not that much more cost than the cheap versions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable and accurate measurements

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought this Salter Oximeter to replace a cheaper one I bought which took too long to settle down to the right measurement.
Salter is a name I trust and the build quality is very good.
When comparing this Oximeter and my Samsung Galaxy 5 Pro they both gave the same readings, so I am happy with my purchase as due to my disability I need to keep an eye on my O2 readings.

Well made. Excellent quality display and easy to read. Quite light. Looks professional. Appears accurate. Bought to replace a previous make one. This has a two year guarantee with salter. In response to reviews on on accuracy they do have a PLUS OR MINUS 2% ERROR SPEC. They work on a 100% scale so the required 95% reading can be 93% or 97%!!!. They also appear to work better on some people. Or work better on another finger or thumb. I get 94% / 96% and I’m healthy. So I know what reading to expect if I’m unwell. If buying these whilst all ready unwell or seriously ill I suggest you check the results with your doctor and use this item along side his observations of your levels.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI found that the meters I had acquired so far where not agreeing with the NHS readings when I was being tested regularly, until I purchased this model.
I AM NOT medically trained in anyway and have COP.I can only state what I have found/experienced in that the results have agreed with the tests I have at my surgery and hospital. Enjoy life. Bob S

Thus was easy to use . I bought it when I had pneumonia to keep an eye on my oxygen levels
On a recent trip to see GP I took it with me and the readings matched the surgery one exactly .
The only downside is the batteries supplied didn’t last long but a new set and it was perfectly ok again .
I would have liked this to have had a carry case .

I bought this alongside another device of the same type (for comparison).
I think this device is the more reliable and more solidly built of the two. So would recommend. This one reads higher than the other one I bought (1-2%) but results seem more plausible.
My family and I had a play with these devices having been outside in the cold for a few hours – they do not work under these conditions! I think this is a general thing for these untethered devices. So I don’t know how useful they are ‘in the field’ so to speak.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI eventually decided to purchase a pulse oximeter because of a positive Covid-19 result and chose this one solely because it is sold by a well-known brand. However, this does mean that it is more expensive. I haven’t scored it for accuracy simply because I have no standard to compare it with. It does give sensible readings but there are occasions when it will give no reading or an unusual one. So far I have not attributed these to a failure of the device, but usually because there has been a confounding issue like cold fingers. If the unit cannot read a pulse or detect a reasonable perfusion index then there is no way it can measure spO2. I have found it easy to use. My advice to anyone wishing to buy an oximeter is to spend a lot of time reading around the subject. Which magazine doesn’t wholeheartedly endorse purchasing one and there is a very good Youtube video (10 minutes) by Dr Mike Hansen assessing the pros and cons of oximeters. There is no point in hoping to use this or similar devices while active. You really do need to be still while taking readings. But I have found it useful to check my Fitbit pulse recordings against this unit immediately after exercise. The oximeter is much more accurate when my pulse is high. When at rest they give similar answers. If you fancy splashing out 20-40 for fun then go ahead, but these are not as straightforward to use as, say, a thermometer.

Just bought this branded reader, because my Wife frequently complain of shortness of breath. Reading reviews of the cheaper products it seems they are inaccurate a lot of the time, so hopefully branded is better. Wife tried it on her right forefinger and the Spo reading was 92 pulse rate 60 to 62. This is to low a reading! So switched to her left forefinger and spo was 97 and pulse 74, so a lot nearer the normal reading. Tried it on myself, and although the variation wasn’t as great, it still had a lower reading on the right forefinger. So this begs the question, which of the two readings is the correct one, and should you always take reading from the left or right side? So although this product is branded and from the same stable as Homedics (in fact it looks exactly the same as the Homedics one but is 3 cheaper), is it any better than the much cheaper one’s from different makers names? Time will tell.

While i cannot vouch how accurate the readings are as i have nothing to compare it with. I expect being a decent brand it will give the correct reading. One variable is on how you position your finger so the laser can pick up your pulse. It can vary by a percentage if not in the correct position. Make sure you are wearing no nail varnish. If you have dark skin try turning your finger upside down so the laser can go through your nail. There are different display layouts / orientations that you can choose from to make it easier to read. Will turn off by itself once you remove your finger. A useful monitor to have especially during the covid19 pandemic.

I bought this oximeter at “Early Black Friday Deals” as a replacement for a cheaper non branded one which after only a week of use started to act up and had to be returned. This Salter OxyWatch takes accurate readings and is reliable. It is well made and very simple to use: just press the button. A useful feature is the rotating OLED display, in case someone else is taking the readings for example. As most instruction manuals these days of digital printing the type is so small that I would recommend to take a photo with a phone or tablet and read it from the device, alternatively one can download the PDF at Salter website. It also comes with a 2 year manufacture warranty. A very good oximeter at an amazing prize which has given me a little peace of mind during these COVID19 times.
