Size and construction of box are excellent. Tried keys in box and pouches next to car and it did not open. Hopefully this would be the case if someone attempted to obtain signal from key. Fingers crossed for the future.
I love my new protective key box and holders.
The bag for daily care of my key is great nice and neat and not as big and difficult to put in my pocket and bay.
Small is plenty for a massive bunch of keys ! Even 3 sets
Looks good , works well , took it to the car with keys in and it said no key found until I took it out the box . So I may keep my car on my drive now lol .
Bought the small size box and tried it right away. Put the car keys in the box and went up to the car door. Nothing happened. Then put the keys in the pouches, and again nothing happened. Didn’t buy the box for the phone so haven’t tried this. The box easily took two sets of car keys both with door keys attached, plus the two empty pouches. It’s a sturdy box and I would say that this plus the two pouches is good value for money.
Put the wife’s X5 keys in the box took the box to the car and the signal was shielded and car did not open. Tried the same with a pouch and same result.
Does what it says on the tin.
I didn’t expect it to be as small as it is, even after reading the reviews. It just about fits both mine and my husbands keys in. I’d give the box 3 stars but gets an extra because it came with 2 key pouches
Like the size and looks the job. Purchased to keep car keys safe at home as spate of car thefts locally due to “Cloned Keys” by thieves using device to pick up key signal from unguarded keyfobs inside homes.
The box and the pouches are great at stopping the RF (radio signal) from leaving them. I did a test with my car key in the pouch and could not open the doors on my keyless entry car.
The car key to be shielded is inconveniently large and cumbersome. Addition of the box or pouch worsens that but both box and pouch are well made and effectively shield the key.
This box is sturdy and does exactly what you want it to do. I have stood right next to my car with the keys in the box and there is no connection whatsoever. Certainly puts your mind at rest knowing your car is safe .
Excellent- does the job perfectly
The key pouches are great and car key can be stored in it with plenty of space. Also other keys can be hung on the outside
Faraday box works great as well and is big enough for a few keys
Very happy with the purchase
My keys are far too bulky (too many keyrings!) for key pouches and so I wanted to find an alternative to improve security. The box looks great and is more than big enough for my bunch of keys and my husbands bunch of keys and his wallet.
Extremely satisfied.
The Faraday storage box and pouches are effective. When I received them I was keen to try out how well the signal to the key was blocked. It works even when close or in the vehicle. I opened the car and then placed the fob in the pouch. Nothing would switch on in the vehicle. Took the fob out of the pouch and everything worked as normal. Would have preferred an option of 2 key pouches rather than a pouch and a wallet.
Bought this as its the first time I have had a keyless car. There had been a number of car break ins near me .so thought best to put.it in something safe to stop the thieves from cloning my key fob. So far so good.
These are great, they block the signal, so thevies trying to scan outside the house for a key signal, they won’t find it. The pouch is great to take with tou when going out, we now use it when ever we ate out and the box when we are at home. This is a must for all house hold that have cars.
In light of recent articles about cars with keyless ignition being stolen despite disengaging the fob at night, we decided to invest in a Faraday box. In the event that the worst should happen, at least we could demonstrate to the insurance company that we had taken every precaution possible to prevent it happening.
The box looks quite smart though the lock might be a flimsy especially as it will be used eveyday. We will see how we get on.
With regards to it effectiveness both my husband & I were very sceptical about it working but hey guess what … it does!.
We tested it out. We put the key in the box shut the lid & stood right next to the car ~ couldn’t open any of the doors or boot. Then we opened the car put the key back in the box & tried to start the car ~ “key not detected” came up on the console. RESULT.
The “free” pouches will be useful ~ as we will use the pouches when we go away on holiday to store the car key overnight.
Fast delivery time ~ they arrived 2 days earlier than advised – 5 stars!
I’d have given this box 5 stars if it stayed open when you push the lid back. Keeps falling down. Other than that, great for its purposes. Fits well in our hall
Bought this because my key ring has several keys on it, and a Faraday pouch just wasn’t going to cut it. Yes, it works fine, looks quite elegant and I can throw two fairly large sets of keys inside and close the lid. So far, I’ve been remembering to do that every night. Samfolk highlight their “wide and durable” buckle, and I hope it is (durable); time will tell, it does seem like that might be the weak point in the box – however so far, no issues. As others have said, I’ve no use for the free pouches included, if it’s to increase protection I’d rather see the box have greater protection than have to pouch-up my keys as well as putting them in the box. Maybe I should buy a bigger box to put the box in?
Most importantly, the car is still in the drive.
I really wish I didn’t need this but with the prevalence of relay attacks and the inability to disable keyless entry on modern cars, there isn’t much choice. I guess it’s as good looking as a square black box near your door can be, the clasp is quite elegant but just gets in the way when I want my keys in a hurry.
I won’t use the “free” extras, but I couldn’t order without them and it feels very wasteful to include them just to be thrown away.
The box is quite large and there’s loads of space inside even with a couple of heavily loaded key rings in there. The seal between the box and its lid gives me confidence that no stray waves will escape if tested one night by a local scrote or two.
On receipt the first thing I did was to put my iPhone in the box, close the lid and rang it. It rang! I was about to put the box back in its packaging to return it when I decided to try it with my car keys. Put them in the box, closed the lid, stood next to the car with box in hand and it wouldn’t unlock. Opened the lid and the car unlocked. So, I guess it sort of works and it was the car keys I bought it for. As for the box itself? Seems quite well made; I bought the larger size and it has plenty of room for a couple of sets of keys. Came with two pouches; a small one for one key and a larger purse style key intended for slipping a mobile phone into. Not sure I will use the latter but got it anyway.. Whether this box is any better than any other I can’t say
Update: Just put the iPhone in the large pouch and rang it. It didn’t ring but went straight to voicemail so I guess that works?
