I bought this in they sale last week and it is fantastic. It’s really great to use for drawing and graphic design. Overall I am very happy with this purchase.
Great tablet works fantastic, nice screen and all Apps work well and fast (this is the 2022 version). Got it for a great price 249 in the Prime sale, worth every penny.
Purchased to replace old tablet, the screen is a great size and it’s runs fast, easy set up and it doesn’t take long to fully charge, great for watching films and playing games
Update: Sadly I’m returning this due toa number of issues.
1) changes in android itself. Originally you used to be able to format a sd card as a system drive. This meant small drives, such as on this, weren’t an issue as you’d use a sd card. Unfortunately that’s no longer the case. Android now let’s you move apps onto the sd card, bit this has to be allowed by the app itself. Most apps don’t allow it. Also if your downloading within the app it downloads to the system drive, unless the app allows you to change to the sd card. Again most apps don’t allow this, which for me made micromanaging downloads a PITA.
2) WiFi disconnects. I’m not sure if it’s a hardware or software issue, but every time I connected my Bluetooth headphones to it, the WiFi would turn off. After turning it back on I would face random turn offs again and again, so long as my headphones were connected. Oddly it was only my headphones causing this. My mouse and keyboard worked just fine.
3) the biggest problem was the s-pen. I love the s-pen and the fact its free is a huge bonus. However the pen on this device is to thin for me. Having large hands I found writing with it to be painful.
Also there is no palm rejection, so writing is especially bad. I ended up having to use an artists glove to write.
Finally there’s no where to store the pen. Yes it has a magnet and is supposed to attach to the side. But that magnet is so weak if you breath on the pen it falls off. After realising it had dropped off one time and spending an hour trying to find it again, I decided enough was enough. Hence my returning.
However, I do still stand by my eager comments. I think in its price range this is one of the best. The issues I have are situational, and if your just looking for an everyday media consumption tablet, this is the one.
If your looking for note taking, art or anything else that uses the s-pen, I’d reccomend a S8 or the S7 FE, if you can find one with a decent sized system drive. For a college/uni student, you want a minimum of 256gb, 512gb would be ideal. Atleast until android back tracks the way it uses sd cards
Over the last few weeks I’ve tried a few tablets, a cheap 140 one that on paper had better specs than the S6. Though in the end was garbage. And both the A7 and A8.
Out of all of them this S6 Lite os by far the best I’ve had and used.
Performance wise, it’s handled everything I’ve thrown at it. Media playback is flawless, as was streaming from crunchyroll and other sites. It was also able to handle my near 1tb of comics and manga, though it does chug a little when you first open the Perfect Viewer app.
If your looking for a budget to mid range tablet without breaking the bank, then this S6 lite is one to consider.
The S-Pen is surprisingly versatile and useful. I’ve found I use ot quite a lot, especially for taking notes. I prefer writing directly in one note, over using the keyboard.
Screen is very nice, very bright and vibrant, with decent viewing angles. Sound is ‘meh’ it’s a tablet, don’t expect cinema quality sound. The 2 speakers are ‘tuned’ by AKG, and I have to admit that they sound better than the A8 (though the A8 is significantly louder), being crisper and punchier. Overall for media consumption on the go it’s a solid device.
Battery wise, it lasts me all day, and I do mean all day. Usually I’ll leave the house just after 7 and won’t be back till around 4. Typically I’ll see 20-30% of the battery left. This is after being used a good chunk of the day for both work and leisure.
However a couple of things to note, there are 2 versions of the S6 lite. The first os from 2019, you do not want to get this version as it about to be unsupported by samsung. Who only do 3 updates to the OS and the 2019 version shipped with Android 10, and were now on 13. Also the 2019 version has a weaker internals.
The 2020 version comes with Android 13, so we have atleast 3 more major updates coming. It also came with a better internals, both the CPU and GPU were significantly boosted.
Finally, don’t bother with the 32 or 64GB versions. You only want the 128gb as anyth9ng less will just be filled with android files and leave you very limited system space. This is due to android no longer letting you format so cards as root drives anymore. They’ve gone for another system, that is frankly less helpful.
Overall you won’t go wrong with this tablet. However, it is worth knowing that as much as I rate this device, its still not as good as the ipad mini. Though the ipad mini will run you roughly twice the price of this one.
The tablet is very good.
Amazon advertise it coming with a 3 year manufacturers warranty.
I have contacted Samsung and they only every offer a maximun of 2 years guarantee
So I believe this is false advertising by Amazon.
They have actually agreed thi sis incorrect but still advertise it the same way, with 3 years warranty.
Just be sure, if you purchase, you will only get a 2 year warranty
Mine is practically glued to my Arm. My last one was fine for 3 years until Power Port started to become erratic due to use/dirt etc.
Worth watching.
If this breaks I will buy another. Could not be without this, using it now, Samsung is the best for me!
Once set up, this is a great tablet. My beef (and the reason for 4 stars)? Data transfer is unnecessarily time consuming and complicated.
To transfer/share app data from another non-Samsung android device (Mine’s a moto g7 Power), before you use Smart Switch (the recommended way to transfer data) on BOTH devices you need to go into settings, then either “about device” or “system” to find “Build number”, then press that rapidly SEVEN TIMES to become a “developer “. Next you need to find “developer options” in “system”, scroll all the way down to “default USB configuration” and switch on “file transfer”. Remember: this must be enabled on BOTH DEVICES. Then you can start the Smart Switch app process. That’s very cumbersome and is a result of a recent Android update by Google. So some indication of that would have been helpful. It took a lot of searching on the Internet to solve that.
After that it’s plain sailing, and I very much enjoy using my new toy. Great screen, great pen.
Bought to upgrade from an A7, which was ok, but I needed more memory than the 32gb it had built-in. So much of that was taken up with system files and other stuff that could not be moved to the SD card.
This 128gb tablet was 100 less than its normal price on the Amazon day deal, even less than the 64gb version, so a brilliant bargain. I worried that I’d be getting the older 2020 version, as the product descriptions weren’t clear, but it’s the most recent one, already updated to Android 13 and several years of future updates and support to come.
It was easy to set up, using the Samsung Switch app, I love the S pen that came with it, and it’s a pleasure to use. I don’t even need an SD card yet, the memory is plenty big enough.
Well, this S6 Lite tablet is replacement for older S2, replaced purely due to unable to charge because a minute metal pin connection was accidentally bent! Whilst was an expense not required in these hard times, it has proved ,so far, money well spent. The things one can now do are greater and existing areas have improved, I’m still getting to gripps with it all. Conclusion is happiness all round, thanks.
Ive been wanting this tablet for over a year, i kept seeing people using it for artwork and drawing and because it already comes with a free S Pen i thought it would be perfect, i couldn’t get accepted anywhere else for finance and didn’t have enough to buy outright (not that anyone does anymore w the cost of living lol) so luckily i tried Amazon and i was able to order straight away and pay in 5 which is just perfect i mean cmon the tablet came brand new, works amazingly, i can link all my phone stuff, the s pen works so well and the drawing is just amazing w so many options. Theres a lot of space tbh so its great for light gaming and emails etc, the screen is biggg but if you get the right case ( i recommend the pink keyboard case on amazon) then its a lot easier to hold/lean up and store the s pen to not lose it. If youre looking for a new tablet for art or videos or gaming or whateva then get THISSSSS
Really great tablet . Let me do what i want to do . Which are taking notes and using all my different apps. I like that you can switch view to a desktop style
Excellent Tablet. When first delivered the sealed Amazon packaging contained two boxes of coffee!! Not impressed. Amazon Customer Services stepped up to the plate and a replacement was sent and received two days later. Well done Amazon. I hope they catch the person at the warehouse who substituted the tablet for coffee.
Tablet itself works well as you would expect. Easy to transfer all the items on the phone. Great size. No longer have to drag a laptop around.
Use this for my writing on the go. Bought a rugged case with strap and it has been the best idea! Replaces the numerous notepads. The handwriting function is amazing for such a cheap tablet when you compare it to the apple products. The battery life just keeps giving as well (not used for heavy use like watching videos) but can be connected to my headphones playing music on some long writing sessions and not batter and eyelash. The screen is beautiful with a lot of colour vibrancy.
