HOW TO PLAY SCRAWL
Scrawl is a party game that’s quick to learn and easy to play. Have fun laughing at the unveiling of the crazy stories your friends (or family) have made with their drawings.
Weird scenarios, terrible drawings
SCRAWL STARTS WITH A SILLY PHRASE
Each player starts with a clipboard, a stack of whiteboard paper and a very questionable Scenario Card (‘Octopus Mating Season’, for example). Everyone then has to do their best at illustrating their scenario before passing it over to the player on their left.
Try to guess the original scenario
RIDICULOUS GUESSES
Once the players have exchanged their drawings is time for them to try to describe the picture underneath. The clipboards are then passed along again, with the next player attempting to illustrate the new description in front of them.
Funniest answers win
RUBBISH DRAWINGS
By the time your rubbish drawing gets back to you things will have gone very wrong. Unveil the whole crazy story. All the players have to vote for their favourites in a run, funniest scrawler wins points. The game ends when a player collect 2 more points than the number of people playing or when someone dies laughing.
BAD DRAWERS WELCOME
No need to be a talented artist in Scrawl, in fact the worse or funnier your drawings are the more chances you have to win. Have fun drawing the scenarios in your own rubbish way.

Not a cheap game but there is a lot in the box as it comes with all the cards, writing cards, pens, cleaning cloths etc. You don’t need to be able to draw, in fact it’s funnier if you can’t. Some of the topics/ items on the cards that you have to draw are a bit bizarre but it’s very funny as each player has to interpret the previous players version of the topic. You can score but we never bother, it’s just funny looking at how a topic can translate across 4+ players.
So funny 8 of us played this game for 4hours straight.
This is definitely an adult game, not to be confused with a similar game!.
I took this to a hen do as a bit of a laugh, and it really did give us all laugh. Probably due to my poor drawing skills haha.
It comes with plenty of pens, and boards for drawing and loads of different playing cards – making the use ability of it incredible, I’m pretty sure you could play this many times without getting the same card twice!.
Great game for family and friends of a certain age, especially with drinks. Don’t play with idiots though, just, generally.
You will laugh from start to finish – such a laugh-out-loud game to play with friends
Wow, we had such an amazing night playing this game, so much joy and laughter from such a simple game. It’s been a huge hit!
Tried this game at a board game cafe and loved it so much that I made it my first board game purchase. Laughter guaranteed. Minimum 4 players but the more, the merrie
Bought this following a recommendation. Played as a family (teens aged 17 & 15) – some of the cards are rude but this is in description & we all found it to be absolutely hilarious
Good fun. Bit different. Recommend it for small group of friends. Better if you can’t draw.
Highly recommend , Easy to learn , we played with 8 people and didn’t stop laughing. A very funny but simple game!
This board game was absolutely hilarious and enjoyable for the family. I highly recommend it for people who are looking to have a good laugh with friends and family and enjoy a relaxing time together.
Excellent game. Very easy to learn and play. Brought out the naughtiness in the family. Suitable for older kids / teens (those who aren’t too sheltered). Highly recommended for belly laughs and creativity.
A great adult drawing game that made us all really laugh. Nicely thought out in that it doesn’t use paper but contains wipe clean boards (giving them a wipe with a damp cloth and then a dry cloth at the end of the night keeps them looking great).
My only gripes are that the pens could be a little finer for details and that the box is far too big. This could have been packaged in a nice small box like Six Second Scribbles (also highly recommend!). Ultimately I think I’ll end up making it a smaller box and chucking the big one away as it’s a waste of space.
We have quite a few big potato games and this is another excellent addition. It’s small and compact and all controlled through your phone or tablet so no big box or pieces that can go missing! Good mix of fun games and fairly quick to play if you have a child who likes to pick games to delay bedtime . Like other reviewers we had to connect through a laptop as it kept booting us ou
What a great game. Bought this on Thursday and played with friends on Saturday night. There were tears of laughter and we only stopped the game as it had become very late, with the general consensus being that this is the best game any of us have ever played! It really is that good.
Having regularly played (and enjoyed) Cards Against Humanity, nobody was quite sure how well this game would go (“isn’t it just pictionary?”). We needn’t have worried though. The game is simple, fast and endless fun. And you really don’t have to be a good drawer, with the worst drawings/interpretations typically earning the points, just because they were so funny. When you get your board back, you see the last description that was written and then lay your story out in order. As such you read it and think “how did my drawing end up here…?” and all then becomes clear! Very amusing.
The rules state that you draw and then pass left. I think this is limiting, so we rotated every round. With 4 players we passed left, then right, then straight across the table. If you don’t mix it up, the same person will always be naming your first drawing, with the same people then drawing that. This made it much more fun, with a lot of the laughs coming from “who the hell drew/titled this one??”.
It really is a genius game. The root words to draw are a great range of interesting to entertaining, and whilst they become more ‘adult’, they don’t seem to go for the same shock factor of Cards Against Humanity for example. They don’t need to, as the entertainment comes from someone trying to draw the ridiculous and then it escalating out of control as the boards are passed on.
I can’t recommend this game enough and friends we’ve played with are already buying up their own copies. You won’t regret it.
