A Bit of History
The brand Seven Potions was conceived in 2014, after testing hundreds of different grooming formulations out there. | Directions | Use 2-10 drops of oil. Rub into hands and then along the sides of beard and into moustache. | Scrape a bit of balm using the back of your thumbnail. Rub the balm between your palm and massage it into your beard. Continue massaging the balm in your beard and skin for a few seconds depending on your beard growth. | Scrape a bit of wax using the back of your thumbnail. Bought this one simply because it was the only vegan one I could find. One tin lasted over 6 months for my stache & found it works nicely on brows as well. Would recommend!
This is the best balm I have used to date! Hold all day, easy to comb through once applied and you don’t need to use too much of it! Top tip, leave the tin in hot water for a minute or so to make it easier to spread through hands and apply! Will definitely be my go to beard from now on! Kudos seven potions!
I got this to try and tame a wirey beard and tash. After a few days of use it’s doing the job. I don’t know how much difference there really can be in the waxes, but this stuff works for a noob like me.
One of the best beard waxes/balms I’ve tried. Leaves the beard looking great all day, literally no greasiness, a nice medium but soft feeling hold and smells great too!
Only negative, which is a biggish one is the price/quantity as you need to use quite a lot to get the best out of it. If the tin was twice the size, this stuff would rule the market and not leave me looking for alternatives.
Does a good job. At first sight container seems very small, (advert possibly a little inaccurate in that respect), however not much needed to hold the shape of the beard, looks very natural once applied and non greasy. Difficult at first to apply but quite easily got over. Overall a good product.
I liked this product it mostly holds the beard in place for the whole day. If I had one criticism of the product it would be the scent which could be a little stronger. On the whole I would definitely recommend this product.
The problem I can see with this wax, is that the recommended method of utilisation is the back of the fingernail and in that way, given it’s such a small tin, it won’t last long and at a tenner a tin, it’s going to be an expensive process. That said, like each of the Seven Potions product, it smells good and acts as a wax should in sculpting the beard appropriately. I will probably go for an alternative next time simply because I found it quite difficult to keep all of whiskers flat, there were still an awful of beard hair it didn’t control
Used other waxed products in the past until I stumbled upon this one, I’m sticking to this now as it’s highly a improvement on any other wax I’ve used.The smell is great but not overpowered and the style hold is second to none, only needed a small amount rubbed between my hands and it held my style perfectly and no stray hairs poking out.Don’t listen to negative post review’s,this is a superior product.
It’s got a good hold, once you work your magic and manage to scrape some out of the tin. Ended up using a small spoon!! The stuff is totally rock solid!! Took ages to warm up in hand, enough to use. Barely any scent at all too. Saying that, it’s done it’s job and has set my beard well.
Great smelling wax and quality is very good. Downside is the price is quite steep and for short beards like mine it’s probably not needed – stick with the Seven Potions balm which is excellent as well.
Excellent product the hold is fantastic as well. This fragrance wasnt for me so will try the citrus one next time as i do like a fruity smell. But this product is really good compared to others I have had in the past. Also the customer service from John and the team is amazing they really do care about Thier customers and are second to non for this. Please buy with confidence from these guys you will not be disappointed by the product and if you have a problem get in touch they are awesome.
Good product and seems to do the job. For a longer beard the wax doesn’t fully hold the hair. Should be fine for mid-shorter beards.
The product can leave some small white flakes in your beard if you don’t take time to rub the wax thoroughly before applying.
I am not a great reviewer of stuff but this product is excellent – obviously everyone’s beard is different but for mine this stuff is perfect. Make sure you heat it up before use (I keep mine in the airing cupboard permanently) scrape it out with your thumbnail rub in your hands and apply – keeps your beard soft and but holds firm and is pliable – superb correspondence from the seller with tips also when you buy the product – definitely worth a go for all beard lovers out there
I like the tiny form factor (it is very tiny) and it gives a fairly good hold to it.
The hold, however, doesn’t last for more than 2 hours which is a shame. I do appreciate they are using natural ingredients but I really expected this to hold longer.
The woodland harmony scent smells nothing related to wood. It is a citrusy smell, which isn’t bad because it’s not very powerful. I really want them to release real woody scented products.
Overall it’s ok. Only downsides are the hold duration and citrusy smell for the woodland harmony product.
Also very nice touch to get a small message from “John” with some tips. Like it!
if you are like me, a beginner in the beard growing world I can recommend that you start with this product. Will definitely buy it again and test out more products from this brand.
natural look, good smell, all around a good product.
if im really looking for anything negative to say about it and now I’m being really pushy, it feels like the hold/shape doesn’t hold for too long.
As a reference –
I’m up early and ready for the day at 6am and after a good hard day with the outdoors and dogs the hold/shape is, not the same as when I saw myself in the mirror earlier. This is usually around 2.30pm. When home again around 5.30pm the shape/hold is much gone.
There is still some product left in the beard so small adjustments is possible but not much.
Might perhaps be same with all waxes on the market, Again in am a beginner in the world and don’t have much to compare with.
This is the best beard and moustache product I ever used, i have been trying other products also none of them was good enough for my medium long beard! Only negative side is this medium hold beard wax comes only 30ml, it would be very nice if you can do this also 60ml…
A bit stronger than a balm and it helps taming the unruly hair. This wax can be highly effective if you have a curly beard with a personality It’s not very good when it comes to handlebar mustaches but I guess that’s why it says “medium hold” on the container. It’s hard to get it out but if you used a mustache wax before you follow the same process. Scrape it out with your thumbnail and melt it between your fingers and then apply it on your beard. It’s got a nice scent, similar to Seven Potions’ balm that I’ve bought before.
