Relatively quiet and quick to produce ice. Typical ice from a machine with holes in and not clear but its for cooling drinks not making coctails. Does the job been working ok so far – 2 months in.
My husband and I purchased this ice maker after returning from holiday and loving access to an ice machine. Fits well on the countertop, not oversized or an eye sore to look at!
Super easy to fill with water and you have ice within 5 minutes. Noise is minimal. Great volume of ice generated. We love it!!! Fantastic value for money- highly recommend.
When I first used this product, I did wonder how long it would take to get a reasonable amount of ice. It started very slowlythen, much to my delight, it sort of revved up and whoosh – lots of ice started to come at a faster pace! I do what many others do and tip a full basket load into a zip freezer bag, pop into freezer, and voila! Ice always ready and available. I absolutely love this machine and as I use so much ice, it’s saving me money in instead of having to buy bags if the stuff. The ice cubes are bullet shaped and not that big, even the large size, but who cares when there is such a huge amount being made! My machine is on a minimum of three times a week and I now could not be without it. It’s a smart little thing, too and doesn’t look out of place in my kitchen. Just a quick heads up, though. It does release hot air from the side vents/fans, which I found out after leaving a rather nice bottle of wine by the side of it. All in all a fabulous ‘gadget’ and one I would not like to be without!
This machine replaced a previous unit from a different supplier, though they all seem to work in the same way: two rows of metal spigots are dipped in a trough of water, the spigots are chilled and ice forms around them in the shape of a bullet, and then they are ejected from the spigots and scooped by an automated paddle into a catch basket. They are remarkably quick at doing this, with a batch taking under 8 minutes. Once it fills the basket it detects this, and stops until either the cubes are used or they melt. The water drains back down into the water reservoir, ready to be reused.
This model is very quiet in operation, and works well. My only irritation so far (after a week of use) is that the ice bullets seem “wetter” than my previous machine produced, and therefore if left in the basket for a while they will clump together more. Not the end of the world, and a great value machine.
… because it can’t make cubes. took it out to the campgrounds with a popup camper and was above 80 degrees F and was to hot. but once toward evening and cool down temps it worked fine.
At home works like champ with no problems.
This product is very user friendly. It makes a little noise, not very noticeable on my part, but that’s to be expected. All ice makers have sound. Great investment! Will definitely buy again, but hope I don’t have to!
Machine works great! Is quiet, produces ice fast. It is wet ice, but I put it in a bin in my freezer and then chop it up a bit after a while and it works great for us! Nice to have since my fridge ice maker stopped working. Highly recommend!!!
I like the i e maker and it does make ice fast but the one thing I didn’t like is you have to remove it right away and store it in ur freezer or it will melt. It’s a cycle it makes ice and melts and makes it again and keeps melting and making till you store it someplace else.
It’s been a very long, hot summer and this ice machine keeps the ice coming. It’s very simple to use, just keep water in the reservoir and you’re good to go. I do wish held a bit more water, but not an issue. The only thing about it I don’t like is the noise. While it is between batches, it’s quiet enough. While it’s making the ice it makes quite a bit of noise, mostly from the fans. Still, it really beats waiting for ice cube trays to freeze !
I like it because I can have ice at work but I don’t like it because it wastes so much water. I empty mine out at the end of the week and there is still a lot of water in the bottom of the reservoir.
he ice maker is great!! works like it should, looks nice on countertop, not loud at all, do not notice it running unless you want to. Ice is wet when we transfer it to another container to store in freezer so you will have to somewhat break apart, but a very minor extra effort compared to filling ice trays and waiting 10 hours. this thing is fast and very convenient. I actually got it for the boss of the house as she makes smoothies which the ice chops up much easier than a big cube from a tray. so its faster and saves the wear on the bullet.
Overall I love it, makes me ice, less of a mess and hassle than ice trays in the freezer, and it’s pretty quick.
Definitely can make ice in 6 minutes, fairly quiet, and also comes with a suction cup hook for the scooper. Unfortunately, the ice isn’t kept cool so it’s constantly melting and refreezing the ice. I don’t mind but just know that for those trying to conserve energy.
Only negative thing I can really say is the ice easily builds up and doesn’t roll down into the bucket. As seen in the picture, the ice kinda builds up in one spot and blocks the sensor. Not a major issue since new ice can be made in six minutes though.
Not the sellers fault but I’d recommend buying this product with another item. Product itself is packaged really well, but at Amazon shipping, they put mine into a bigger box without any bubble wrap or other packaging material so the box can easily slide around. Hopefully if you add another item, they’d (amazon) actually care to protect it more.
was far cheaper than most ice makers , had issue after while and customer service (had to go through their website) was willing to give brand new one think was like 6 months but did some research and well it was just dirty and once got some Ice Machine Cleaner descaler and ran it through few times to clean internal sensor (kept saying add water when was full) then worked like new , frankly they should make note of that or do like some and give small sample of cleaner would been silly to return it for new one when just needed a good cleaning . gets 5 star for good customer service though was odd they asked me to send video showing it wouldn’t make ice hehe but did offer to replace it .
There are a bunch of things taped inside when you get the machine so make sure you remove it all especially the piece up under the top. It’s holding the plastic scraper plate in place during shipping. They don’t mention anywhere what all is taped up in the instructions. The machine works well making a batch of ice every six or so minutes. There is a drain plug on bottom but it is much easier to just dump it out after use. Having a removable cord would make this much easier and also easier to transport. It’s one thing they could improve upon with little additional cost.
Very easy to use and to clean. I fire it up and empty cubes into ice tray in freezer and keep going till it is full. Only drawback , if you take ice straight from machine they defrost quickly, and they also defrost quicker than normal ice cubes when straight from freezer, however not nearly as bad as when from the machine. But I use it every day and I have endless supply of ice, when it breaks I’m getting a new one.
After seeing the Silonn ice maker on the counter at my Brother and Sister-in-law’s house, my interest was definitely piqued. I decided that I needed and ice maker, too, because I love ice cold drinks. I originally didn’t know what brand they had purchased, so just started looking at all of the brands. There were so many, with very good and very bad reviews. I got a little confused and gave up for a little while. I finally asked them what brand they bought and how they liked it , after using it for several months, and my sister-in-law said that if there was a fire, her husband would grab his Silonn ice maker first. I bought one the same day, and I have not been disappointed. It really produces, and I have a constant supply of ice. I did find out that if you don’t use it right away, it will melt back into the machine, so it is necessary to store the ice in the freezer. But that is not really a problem. They store it in the ice bin from their non-working freezer ice maker. I’m not that fancy, and just put it in ziplock bags. The ice sticks together a bit, but separates by giving the bag a little tap on the counter. I would definitely recommend this item.
