I bought these to take food in to work. The lids fit securely and they are microwave safe. I also like the fact that so far my food such as curry hasn’t stained them.
I have bought these type before and really like the shape, especially for storing in the fridge on top of each other. They are a good length Sistema and the lids fit well.
I like using these for freezing curries etc when cooking batches. Also good for leftovers and salad. Good size seem to hold more than I expected too. Happy with purchase.
I expected these containers to be less sturdy and break after a couple of uses but they’re holding up very well, they exceeded my expectation by far. I make my lunches to take to work in them so they hold anything and don’t leak, and they keep my food hot or cold longer than other containers I regularly use.
When they do eventually break I’ll be purchasing again – For the price you really can’t go wrong!
These are good sturdy tubs, plastic does not seem to go brittle like some. Used to store left overs in the freezer, then straight into the microwave to reheat. The lids clip on well and no leaks. Used multiple times so far, no problems
The container is very nice, they are very convenient to use for ingredient/meal prep. Fits a few cups of cooked rice, a whole chopped pineapple, etc. It’s very convenient, very affordable, easy to clean and just the right size.
For the price of these you really can’t go wrong. I expected them to break after a couple of uses but they’re holding up well. I make my lunches to take to work in them so they hold anything from soups to curries and don’t leak, maybe they would if I shook the tub about but who’d do that to their lunch? they go in the dishwasher and have come out well each time. When they do eventually break I’ll be purchasing again.
I have been using the soup & porridge bowls which were some of the first Sistema products to be released in the UK. To this day, I still use them every single day, once or twice per day.
This product didn’t let me down either.
These are glorified take away containers, except you would think twice before sending someone home with leftovers in them!
Great for storing things which doesn’t require the lid to be too air tight. They are unlike the rest of the range and this is reflected in the price.
I use them on a daily basis to freeze food or store in fridge or cupboards
Bought on the recommendation off others for proofing pizza dough pucks . Perfect size for a 250grm ball to rest and rise ready for stretching a few hours later. I’m sure they make great general food storage containers too. They are easy to clean. We put them in the dishwasher and haven’t degraded in any way.
We have just got a new freezer and I wanted some containers to stack in there, so I could bulk cook meals and freeze them.
These are perfect – a good brand – and well made. They take up little space in the cupboard before use, and stack well in the freezer. They hold 2 average portions of chilli, curry, beans, rice, ratatouille, casserole. Using these has created space in my new freezer, it’s a lot tidier and more organised now.
A word of advice – if you don’t want these to stain, don’t put them in the microwave – remove the frozen food and cook in a glass bowl or other container. It’s cooking in the microwave that makes these, and other plastic containers, get stained. And I want mine to stay pristine!
I purchased these bowls as i wanted small containers with lids for mixing & storing different colours of buttercream. Theyre a good size for mixing in and nice snug lids means i can keep them covered to store in the fridge without faffing with cling film. Saves me using all the cereal bowls for mixing! dishwasher safe too, so a doddle to clean, plus i can put any leftovers straight into the freezer. Really great quality, not ‘disposable’ and stackable too, taking up much less space in the cupboard!
The lids need to be pushed down around the entire rim for a good fit. There is a little ‘give’ where the lid meets the base. I half filled a bowl with water and turned it upside down and there was no leakage. So, the bowls are air-tight and fit for purpose. Four bowls are supplied and it costs a little over 1 euro per bowl, so they are great value. I choose these as I like the quality of the Sistema range.
I bought these bowls for leaving pizza dough (290 g balls) in the fridge overnight to rise. I tried this with the bowls lids down and also base down. The lids opened slightly when the lids were face down, which defeated the purpose of using air-tight bowls. It worked well when the bowls were base down. It took some time to wash away the sticky residual dough. So, I think I’ll return to using a large plate covered in plastic wrap. The bowls will be useful for storing the pizza toppings instead.
I bought these initially to prove individual dough balls for pizza – for which they are great! It’s best to prove them ‘upside down’, with a small spray of spray olive oil on the inside of the lid, as it makes removing the dough balls ALOT easier and you get to keep those lovely air bubbles which make a nice cornicorne (a nice fluffy air filled crust).
They are the perfect size for dough balls that are roughly 220g-250g. Recently I’ve been making dough balls that are roughly 310g and they lids tend to pop open requiring re-balling, but this isn’t a huge issue!
However, my wife has decided that they are the perfect size for batch cook freezing – so from the original 8 I bought I probably now only have access to 3 or 4, as the others are being used to store 2 portions per tub of things like curry, chilli and Bolognese. I’ve had to buy another 2 sets so we’ve both got enough!
We’ve also used them if we are going off on a picnic (when Covid rules allow us to!), although we tend to use them to store more solid items, such as sausage rolls etc. Rather than the more sauce/liquid based items, as although the lid is great, if they are upside down they can leak a little!
I tend to use them also if I’m preparing a meal ahead of time that needs to be cooked fresh and quickly, in that I will chop all my ingredients into separate bowls, and stack them in the fridge until I need them for later – it just takes the hassle and stress out of chopping and cooking everything at the same time at speed – it also means it’s easier and everything is ready for you! Although my wife tends to have a go as there is always a lot of bowls that need to go in the washing machine as I tend to cook with too many separate ingredients – admittedly she is right that a lot needs to be washed up, but I do find it easier to organise myself if all the prep is done before hand!
We love them in this house, and wouldn’t hesitate to buy more!! In terms of storage, you can stack all the clear bowls inside one another, and then stack the lids together to save space – although we are always using ours, either for batch cooking freezing, or for pizza dough prep.
The only issue I’ve found so far, is due to them being used to store tomato based sauces when freezing, the clear plastic has an ever so slight reddish tinge now – even after going through the dishwasher multiple times – although this obviously doesn’t affect the use!
Ideal proportions for defrosting and proving individual pizza dough balls and the tub body is nice and clear for checking on progress without removing the lids. (These 760ml size tubs are quite deep in relation to their diameter compared to most others I’ve come across).
I read an especially helpful tip here from another reviewer who uses them upside-down when proving dough balls…thus minimising surface tension…FAB!
I’m just about to order 2 more sets for when family and friends can safely come and join us for pizza; plus, I’m going to use them for lots of other purposes such as airtight storage for homemade play dough.
Before buying my first set of these tubs, I’d wrongly assumed they’d feel quite flimsy and semi-disposable but they’re actually relatively sturdy.
Not as heavy duty as Tupperware or Sistema main ranges etc (I love their containers with the snap-down tabs though they’re quite expensive) but these are great value for money and serve their purposes nonetheless.
What would make them even better for my uses would be square versions of the same sort of sized tubs to save even more space in fridge, freezer or shelf etc!
These are great little plastic food storage containers, the lid fits well, and they are just the right size to put defrosting fruit in, left over soup, or leftover chilli con carne, a portion size. They look nice, and you can eat straight out of the tub, I hadn’t done the washing up so had my cherries straight out the tub rather than wash a bowl or plate. I know, lazy, don’t judge me lol. They don’t make the food taste of plastic which is good. I haven’t seen any leaks.
I don’t have a microwave so can’t say if they are OK in there, but for storing food in the fridge they are great, a good size and no faddly clips. I’d definitely buy some more of these perhaps for sewing stuff, or loose spices and herbs.
What’s this warmth thing in the reviewing? Perhaps I could glue a load together and make a tupperware box spaceman suit, that could then be quite warm I suppose, unless they mean does it keep food warm, in which case I don’t know as I haven’t put warm food in them, surely you’d need a thermos or insulated bag for that?
Weird lol.
These are the perfect size for what I wanted without having clips all the way around the lid can that can be very annoying to clip and unclip. I have warmed up a bit of spaghetti bolognese in it and it stained and deformed the plastic container in one small area. I guess that due to more fat in that area and consequent higher temperature, this area got affected whereas the rest of the container had no signs of “melting”. As I was only warming food and and did it for a very short time, I would say that these containers are NOT microwave safe despite the claim made by the manufacturer. On that basis, I now only use them to store food in the fridge which, to be honest, was what I wanted them for. I haven’t tried washing them in the dishwasher so I can’t comment on that.
