Love this telescope, it’s well built, doesn’t feel cheap, instructions is easy to understand, tri pod is nice and strong, it had a nice clear lens, I love the adapter that holds your phone to lens to take photo. Its easy to put together and looks well.
Brought as a gift and the person is very happy with it.
Xmas present for my husband. He loves it. Great buy. Recommend highly especially for a new by. Price excellent too.
Easy to assemble and a well buit unit….The reason I have given it 4 stars is because tthe free warranty registration does not work because the Slokey site address provided does not appear to exist. Not good.
Amazing product for such a great price. My daughter loves it.
It’s a beautiful product, I love it however it was quite difficult to assemble
I was looking for an entry level telescope that would be perfect for travelling with and so far so good. Easy to set up and woth clear instructions. I’m looking forward to some clear night skies so I can test it out properly.
Everything else ordered through amazon comes in a plain old box. Which is great, because if its a gift for a family member within your house, they won’t know what’s inside said box. This arrives with TELESCOPE plastered over the side of the box. Excellent secret keeping.
Sure it’ll be fine, got good reviews, so for a 70th birthday present, hoping it goes down well! If course, he already knows what it is now.
My first impression is that this (the 60090) model is nice quality with good accessories. The first thing to clear up (I got conflicting answers to my question), you see the image the correct way up, handy for non-skywards observations.
It is definitely worth taking some time to read the manual before setting it up as this helps you understand it’s capabilities and gives some good tips on viewing spots.
As a complete amateur I am looking forward to some stargazing and will update this review over time.
Bought this for my mum for Christmas she she is obsessed with the moon and loves taking pictures of it on her phone. Absolutely worth every penny. These photos are from her first attempt using it on a cloudy night, so can’t wait to see what she’s able to see with practise and on a clearer night. Easy to set up, and fantastic quality.
I got this telescope and this is an amazing product I have seen the moon today up close and it was amazing showing every single detail also saw the planet Jupiter and I could see it in great quality in a light pollution area also when the other day I saw loads of stars in great view I absolutely recommend this telescope its definitely 10/10
I bought this telescope to taken a closer look at nature and the solar system.
It is easy to assemble with a step by step guide.
This is perfect for a beginner who doesn’t want anything too complicated. Once you have set up your red dot finder, it’s simple, use your red dot finder to point to the image you want which will then appear in the telescope viewer. (Focusing required)
The camera attachment is a bit faffy at first but practice makes perfect.
I’ve looked at a few stars and various wildlife and am waiting for some clearer night skies at the moment. The telescope comes with various lenses with different magnifications including a Barlow lense which will come in useful once we get a new moon. I’m extremely pleased with the product for the price and would recommend this to an adult beginner.
Being someone who is a beginner to observing the heavens I didn’t know that to use the scope for terrestrial view the image is inverted which is a bit of a shame as the scope was intended for looking at objects on earth, However I will persist with it as it’s well made and seems good value for the price.
I’m a beginner so, I don’t understand nothing about telescopes But it was easy to assemble following the instructions and set up the phone to. Quality and focus of the image is good for me, in the day time, I didn’t try in the night time yet.
Not really had chance to try it out yet but looks well made and well packaged, it comes with all sorts of accessories so you don’t have to buy anything else when you first get going.
I was very pleased of how quickly my parcel arrived and I also received an email from Slokey on how too set up the scope and also making sure all was good with my purchase and if I was happy with everything, which I thought was very decent and helpful, the scope itself was easy to set up and get outside for a view of the full moon straight away, it will still take me a while to get used to the different magnification on the 3 lenses and also adding on the Barlow lens, but it’s a very good scope and I’m hoping for more clear nights, I would recommend this scope for anyone wanting to try out star gazing
The package arrived promptly but, as others have reported mould, mine smelled musty and some of the screws were rusted up straight out of the box so these seem to have gotten wet at some point.
I would be pretty disappointed if I had paid the original 300 asking price.
Seems ok otherwise.
Being new to astronomy and telescopes,I wasn’t really up on which scope I needed but the slokey 50080 is absolutely perfect for seasoned pros and beginners like myself. It came with additional lenses that range from nearby observation up to planetary observations .due to poor winter cloud coverage and snow I have not as yet really had the chance to put it through its paces but I really look forward to this but it looks and maneuvers like more expensive telescopes with “A” rate clear magnification and study extendable tripod that makes it all round pleasing to the eye ..5/5..
Given the price this had the best specification and equipment included. It’s well built and easy to put together. I’ve only used it a handful of times but had some good results so far.
I haven’t really used it properly yet as it’s too cold for me
We have set it up and used it from house, even through the window we could read car number plates a good distance away! I can’t wait to get out and look at the moon and stars.. just need the warmer weather! My Husband set it up and it seemed quite simple to put together. Seems nice and sturdy on the stand. It’s good that you can see with your phone too.
My husband has mentioned for a while his desire to have a telescope to view the stars. So this year I brought one, I was a bit nervous, as I knew nothing about telescopes. So with a bit of research I decided on this model.
My husband loves it, spent an hour setting it up and the last two evenings looking at the stars and attaching his phone. The product is well made with a handy travel case. It arrived on time and was a reasonable price. I’d recommend for anyone who wants to give astronomy a go.
Quick out the box I had the telescope assembled, quality appears good, easy to use. Only had the chance to use once so far but straight away I saw Jupiter’s moons which was great. Looking forward to more clear skies !
Bought this as a gift for our son’s 50th B/D. He was very pleased with it and has already put it to use, getting a great photo of the moon. One problem to overcome is that the angular adjustment cannot be securely locked. Even after tightening the adjustment, there’s a tendency for the scope to drop, spoiling the careful set-up. This will make it really difficult to focus on objects much smaller than the moon. Overall though the light weight and portability is impressive.
What can I say, besides the fact that I love the telescope and product service.
Everything is clearly explained in the instructions, so that it is very easy to understand how to operate, how it works and what you are looking at. After a couple of uses, I got a lot better at finding tiny objects and can fairly easily visualise Saturn’s rings or Jupiter’s moons. The moon is stunning.
The eyepieces and barlows that come with it offer enough magnification to see Jupiter and Saturn. You can buy extra barlows or eyepieces off of Slokey’s website.
One thing that I really liked is customer support. One of the eyepieces that I got came with dust and an imperfection. I contacted the company and they sent their apologies and shipped a new piece right away.
A great buy if you want to start stargazing!
Now I’ve had this telescope for a week and had a decent play around with it, I can say with certainty that the product was worth the price tag. It was not only delivered a day earlier than expected but it shipped extremely quickly which was nice.
With this being my first telescope I’m still figuring it out but the process it a lot of fun, unfortunately I have yet to view the moon (Here’s almy first photo of venus instead), and I only figured out how to improve the view of the planet venus after the photo I posted was taken.
As for the telescope, while I have nothing to compare it to, I’m still beyond impressed, it does everything it has set out to do and then some. My only complaint is that it wobbles quite a bit when touched or knocked but thats probably due to the tripod being rather lightweight since it’s probably more of a travel scope. Still, it’s easy enough to work around and doesn’t bother me too much, weights can be added for more stability after all.
I love how the telescope comes in a carry bag, even the bag is really good quality material, just like everything else and makes it so easy to pack and store away or transport around.
I can’t think of any issues that would put a negative on anything, it comes with a 2 year warrenty so any slights out of the box can be worked around.
Overall whether you’re new to telescopes like I am or have more experience, this Telescope with well worth the money!
After an initial problem with the phone holder I emailed the sellers. Within a very short space of time I had a response and a replacement part. Excellent communication and my partner loves this telescope. It was a birthday present for him and he’s a complete beginner but he sussed it pretty quick and we managed to get a great view of the moon! Thank you!
Nicely made piece of equipment for a beginners telescope at a reasonable price. Assembly instructions nice and clear but images for mounting findescope confusing – bracket reversed. Setting finderscope up can be fiddly and time consuming but end result worthwhile. Some form of additional height adjustment on the tripod would be useful but realise not possible with the pricing. Now hoping for some clear skies to do some observations.
