Love this telescope, it’s well built, doesn’t feel cheap, instructions is easy to understand, tri pod is nice and strong, it had a nice clear lens, I love the adapter that holds your phone to lens to take photo. Its easy to put together and looks well.
Brought as a gift and the person is very happy with it.
Xmas present for my husband. He loves it. Great buy. Recommend highly especially for a new by. Price excellent too.
Amazing product for such a great price. My daughter loves it.
It’s a beautiful product, I love it however it was quite difficult to assemble
Sure it’ll be fine, got good reviews, so for a 70th birthday present, hoping it goes down well! If course, he already knows what it is now.
It is definitely worth taking some time to read the manual before setting it up as this helps you understand it’s capabilities and gives some good tips on viewing spots.
As a complete amateur I am looking forward to some stargazing and will update this review over time.
It is easy to assemble with a step by step guide.
This is perfect for a beginner who doesn’t want anything too complicated. Once you have set up your red dot finder, it’s simple, use your red dot finder to point to the image you want which will then appear in the telescope viewer. (Focusing required)
The camera attachment is a bit faffy at first but practice makes perfect.
I’ve looked at a few stars and various wildlife and am waiting for some clearer night skies at the moment. The telescope comes with various lenses with different magnifications including a Barlow lense which will come in useful once we get a new moon. I’m extremely pleased with the product for the price and would recommend this to an adult beginner.
I was very pleased of how quickly my parcel arrived and I also received an email from Slokey on how too set up the scope and also making sure all was good with my purchase and if I was happy with everything, which I thought was very decent and helpful, the scope itself was easy to set up and get outside for a view of the full moon straight away, it will still take me a while to get used to the different magnification on the 3 lenses and also adding on the Barlow lens, but it’s a very good scope and I’m hoping for more clear nights, I would recommend this scope for anyone wanting to try out star gazing
I would be pretty disappointed if I had paid the original 300 asking price.
Seems ok otherwise.
Being new to astronomy and telescopes,I wasn’t really up on which scope I needed but the slokey 50080 is absolutely perfect for seasoned pros and beginners like myself. It came with additional lenses that range from nearby observation up to planetary observations .due to poor winter cloud coverage and snow I have not as yet really had the chance to put it through its paces but I really look forward to this but it looks and maneuvers like more expensive telescopes with “A” rate clear magnification and study extendable tripod that makes it all round pleasing to the eye ..5/5..
Given the price this had the best specification and equipment included. It’s well built and easy to put together. I’ve only used it a handful of times but had some good results so far.
I haven’t really used it properly yet as it’s too cold for me
We have set it up and used it from house, even through the window we could read car number plates a good distance away! I can’t wait to get out and look at the moon and stars.. just need the warmer weather! My Husband set it up and it seemed quite simple to put together. Seems nice and sturdy on the stand. It’s good that you can see with your phone too.
My husband has mentioned for a while his desire to have a telescope to view the stars. So this year I brought one, I was a bit nervous, as I knew nothing about telescopes. So with a bit of research I decided on this model.
My husband loves it, spent an hour setting it up and the last two evenings looking at the stars and attaching his phone. The product is well made with a handy travel case. It arrived on time and was a reasonable price. I’d recommend for anyone who wants to give astronomy a go.
Quick out the box I had the telescope assembled, quality appears good, easy to use. Only had the chance to use once so far but straight away I saw Jupiter’s moons which was great. Looking forward to more clear skies !
Bought this as a gift for our son’s 50th B/D. He was very pleased with it and has already put it to use, getting a great photo of the moon. One problem to overcome is that the angular adjustment cannot be securely locked. Even after tightening the adjustment, there’s a tendency for the scope to drop, spoiling the careful set-up. This will make it really difficult to focus on objects much smaller than the moon. Overall though the light weight and portability is impressive.
Everything is clearly explained in the instructions, so that it is very easy to understand how to operate, how it works and what you are looking at. After a couple of uses, I got a lot better at finding tiny objects and can fairly easily visualise Saturn’s rings or Jupiter’s moons. The moon is stunning.
The eyepieces and barlows that come with it offer enough magnification to see Jupiter and Saturn. You can buy extra barlows or eyepieces off of Slokey’s website.
One thing that I really liked is customer support. One of the eyepieces that I got came with dust and an imperfection. I contacted the company and they sent their apologies and shipped a new piece right away.
A great buy if you want to start stargazing!
With this being my first telescope I’m still figuring it out but the process it a lot of fun, unfortunately I have yet to view the moon (Here’s almy first photo of venus instead), and I only figured out how to improve the view of the planet venus after the photo I posted was taken.
As for the telescope, while I have nothing to compare it to, I’m still beyond impressed, it does everything it has set out to do and then some. My only complaint is that it wobbles quite a bit when touched or knocked but thats probably due to the tripod being rather lightweight since it’s probably more of a travel scope. Still, it’s easy enough to work around and doesn’t bother me too much, weights can be added for more stability after all.
I love how the telescope comes in a carry bag, even the bag is really good quality material, just like everything else and makes it so easy to pack and store away or transport around.
I can’t think of any issues that would put a negative on anything, it comes with a 2 year warrenty so any slights out of the box can be worked around.
Overall whether you’re new to telescopes like I am or have more experience, this Telescope with well worth the money!
Nicely made piece of equipment for a beginners telescope at a reasonable price. Assembly instructions nice and clear but images for mounting findescope confusing – bracket reversed. Setting finderscope up can be fiddly and time consuming but end result worthwhile. Some form of additional height adjustment on the tripod would be useful but realise not possible with the pricing. Now hoping for some clear skies to do some observations.
