Very pleased with this established brand of gardening equipment. The actual hoe is stainless steel and has a sharp edge for cutting weeds. The handle is a perfect length and feels comfortable in the hand.
I wanted to clear the small wildasea around shed. Thes toi made easy wirk of the job. I ciuld hae used r garden fork but would have hrd to bend over. Not heavy and is a great addition to my gaden tool collection.
Bought to replace a well-loved, well-worn, family heirloom, which despite good care and attention, wax polish and welding, finally gave up the ghost after long years of service. Replacing it with a how of equal quality was never going to be easy, but I have to say I am delighted by this excellent gardening product. Sturdy, lightweight, carefully machined, assembled and polished, and offered at a competitive price, the new hoe is a pleasure to use. I look forward to many years of use.
Mine was of excellent quality. Whilst I am pleased that it has a stainless steel head and very smooth hardwood handle, I can well understand that the handle is probably too short in length for those who are taller than me (5 feet 10 inches). Having said that, I personally have no problem in using it with comfort and am pleased to have it, especially at an apparently reduced price.
An excellent product, however the packaging was way over the top!!! A huge cardboard box, far in excess of the item’s size, and with a vast amount of brown paper padding!!!!
Environmentally terrible!!!!!
Well made and feels good in your hand. I am 5’7 and has a lot of pole leverage. It is versatile and sharp – get the job done quickly – no more bending or back pains
Another great to from Spear and Jackson.
This is great. I read a lot of online reviews about a Dutch Hoe, and this has definitely made gardening easier. I’m really impressed how sturdy it is. Highly recommend.
I had been meaning to purchase a hoe for a while. When I saw this I decided to get it. Really pleased I did as it tidied my border and made easy going getting rid of small weeds. It looks like it will last a long time and was good value.
Seems sturdy enough for our garden. Living in area where the soil is very clay and hard.
Seems to be solid, time will tell but already used about 4 or 5 times and no issues.
I’ve so many weeds in my garden I needed a new hoe to churn them up. This works very well as it is sharp and easy to manouevre. I would have given it 5 stars but unfortunately I caught a splinter off the handle which was painful
I love Spear and Jackson garden tools as they are always fit for purpose and never disappoint. Traditional hoe with a quality blade and a lovely wood handle – the plastic protective cover for the blade when not in use is an added bonus. Highly recommended.
Recieved this an hour ago and went straight outside to try it out – it’s light and the blade is sharp – made weeding a border really quick and easy. Am very pleased with my purchase especially as it arrived quicker than I was expecting!
This little beauty is a fab hoe. Its made of quality materials, it’s better than a cheaper hoe because it doesn’t have a change of material half way down where you put your hands, which can lead to blisters & pain. The wood is very smooth and isn’t splintery, you can use easily without gloves, plus it’s a nice length & easy to use. The metal end is sharp and does the job well. Arrived wrapped & packed VERY well. If you like a good quality hoe that’s kind to use, this product is for you.
I am a professional gardener and I am always looking for durable and effective garden tools. I bought this as one of my client’s has a similar Spear and Jackson Hoe which I loved using . I am 6ft 3 inches tall and I was sorry to find that the handle on this is a good six inches shorter than the one my client has. In nearly all other respects it is identical (slightly different fitting) The 6″ makes quite a difference to a tall person . Otherwise the hoe is great, nice wooden handle, stainless steel head and it makes a nice sharp blade when sharpened.
