These paddles have been design with care. The shape suits the hand and helps fitting it with (relative) ease. It maybe that it is my first pair, but I struggle a bit with the rubbers to fix the fingers (although it is not a big issue). Very hydrodynamic, I feel muscles on fire when training with them
Very good product and you feel the effect within one lap. Once you get to grips on how to secure the second once you wear one it’s easy. First time will be tricky.
They are very easy to use, very sturdy, high quality. They help me to improve my swimming technique when doing crawl swimming, but they also work with a breaststroke. Which is nice because I can change techniques all the time. I am usually not strong enough to do whole lane of crawl swimming but with these it works. I love them.
Perfect if you want to build greater upper body strength (mainly shoulders and triceps, but also biceps and chest). Excellent for endurance too.
These serve a purpose, but the straps are a little awkward and they do cause discomfort to the hands after prolonged use, 20-30 laps of the pool. But, they do what they need to do, give you a good shoulder and arm workout. Overall a decent buy at the price, they’re pretty sturdy so will last you.
Perfect size for my 10 year old when using for his swimming lessons, a bit tricky at first when putting them on but no problems after a couple of lessons. Can’t fault them
Fab – well shaped and easy to pull through the water. These are excellent training paddles for a good swimmer and will help with technique as much as with strength. A good price – and you can always trust Speedo to deliver on quality.
If your wanting a really hard swimming session then these paddles are for you. They really work the arms and shoulders, the resistance against the water is considerably hard. You can feel the benefit immediately. However, if you want a leisurely swim these will not suit you at all.
AS described in the website. A littel unconfortable due to the curvature of the Paddle but with time you get used to it. Good value for money. Really giid delivery time. Very reliable provider.
These are the real deal. I’ve tried the webbed glove varieties, and they are all more or less annoying. These are strong, and robust, and really help you build strength/ swim faster, etc. They say they improve technique as well, but that’s not my main goal, and the jury’s out on that one. I love them.
Bought 1 for me and then cam back to buy 2 more as gifts for my friends.
Really good grip, was perfect fit for my female and male friends hands. Helps work the arms better, especially if the pool is short and just making laps is not enough.
These paddles are excellent for training to help develop your freestyle technique and strengthen your arms. I bought the medium size thinking that the large size would be too big for my hands but next time I’ll buy the large size because they make you work harder and so are better for training.
Bought these after damaging leg in an accident so can only swim with arms. Really impressed by increase in speed. Excellent. Not easy to put them onto hands tho. Easier if hands and paddles are wet. Remember to put swim goggles on first…and watch out for other swimmers cos the edges are like blades!
Saw other people in the pool using them so thought id give them a try.
Having read other reviews the first few times I used them I warmed up for 10/15 mins before using them for 200 meters so as not to strain anything wow do you notice the difference for the next few lengths after taking them off.
Enjoying using them helps to break up my swims and you can really feel the extra effort needed, planning to gradually increase distance.
The power paddle, by contrast, keeps your hand and fingers more-or-less flat and is larger. Though more comfortable than the power paddle, you expend less effort with the this Tech paddle which is good if you don’t want to work so hard – and you can overdo it with paddles. Not a bad idea to have a pair of each if you intend using them regularly then you can alternate them.
Comparing equivalent sizes (medium with medium) the power paddle gives, as you’d expect, a better work out but this paddle is more ‘natural’ and comfortable once you’ve got the strapping the way you want it. I don’t think either do much for your stroke: if it’s already good it’ll remain good but if it’s poor it’ll remain poor. Far better to watch a video or speak to a coach!
I recommend, at the least, re-arranging the red silicon strapping: they way it comes (as shown in pic) isn’t great for firmness of attachment or for comfort. I went one further and replaced with it with portions of a used, thin bicycle inner tube (cut to the right length then slice along main axis so you have the same length but thinner). I recommend putting one loop over the wrist and one over the hand knuckles on each paddle: the arrangement shown in the photo isn’t best for comfort, or for a firm attachment. The inner tube pieces can be locked firmly in place with a few small cable ties tied around the ends of the tube on the underside of the paddle. These are available from most DIY / hardware stores and the inner tube is easily (and cheaply) replaced if it wears out.
does what i expected [ i did at one time coach swimming ] and i found the speedo & swimshop videos very helpfull also i could feel the benefit right away great purchase and delivery . i am considering buying swim fins to aid my swim fitness also.
They were no good for breaststroke though. They hampered the recovery, and this is not me saying this as a beginner. The same thing happened when the instructor used them. She is not very keen for swimming aids to be used generally, but did like these paddles (for front craw; anyway).
