Absolutely perfect for metal structural work, the magnet frees up a hand to let you fix the piece you are working on, brilliant stanley quality as always
A solid Stanley level, no surprises, no disappointments.
With magnetic base, handy addition to your tool box
Do you need need something to keep you straight , well this stanley level is perfect for you its strong and reliable and will always be truthful. Cause stan is the ma
Another good level from Stanley. Good build quality and has built in magnets on base. The way you can adjust the angle of one of the side levels is a great addition to this level
Very pleased with item. Quality build and magnets very strong.
Having the option to adjust the level is very handy
At last I can assemble the scaffolding with both hands free and not having to struggle holding the spirit level at the same time. The magnets are good and strong and don’t slide down the pole in the vertical position. If you want an acurate spirit level with good strong magnets, based on my observations, this is the one for you.
Ideal for measuring places where other levels cant get to. Quality build, ease to read and strong magnets keep it in place when on ferromagnetic metals.
Love it! Good and sturdy. Easy to read with larger balance “windows” and strong magnetic power.
Highly recommend! Well worth the cost. Very happy with the FatMax line as hands are arthritic.
Just noticed there is an adjustable angle on the righthand side which will be very helpful Well thoughtout product!
Good quality metal spirit level, with magnets underneath. Three level indicators, one of which can be rotated. Easy to read and feels like a quality item
Only one level I would by great level only buying as replacing one that was lost.
Good little torpedo level for the money, magnetic base is good and strong
This was on an Amazon deal and it caught my eye as my old level was looking battered and tired.
The quality is great and the price was very fair.
The design looks cool and has some really useful features such as the magnets, the grooved back for pipes, and the adjustable rotary level.
I would recommend this product.
It’s what you’d expect from a brand like Stanley, a well thought out solid design.
You can tell it’s built well, and the rotating dial is a really nice bonus.
The only criticism is that the magnetic bottom is just two magnetic inserts rather than the whole base being magnetic. For most cases this wouldn’t matter at all, but if you needed to magnetically clamp it to something that was variegated, it would slightly limit at which points you could fit it.
But as I said, that’s such a tiny gripe and I’ve not found another spirit level that I’d rather have, so highly recommend this!
Great product. I’m a fencer by trade and this is a great pocket level Nice and handy. Great for metal fencing with the magnets on the bottom very acurate. Would highly recommend
Very happy with this level. It’s sturdy and easy to read.
I don’t like the adjustable bubble because I don’t feel it’s as accurate as fixed, I have no need for different angles but it may be useful to some.
I bought this as I’d been looking at it for a while, needed a torpedo level and all my other levels are Stanley Fatmax, so made sense to have this one too.then when the price dropped to just over 9 I had to have it at such a bargain price! (Usually 16+)
Very good build quality and sturdiness! Does exactly what you need it to and the same excellent build quality of all other Stanley Fatmax products. 100% recommended!!
This is perfect, has a nice weight to it and feels sturdy as all hell.
More importantly it’s accurate too.
BUT! I paid just over 20 and it’s now on offer for 14.18, I’d be annoyed if it wasn’t such a good purchase. Shop around and get the best deal. 5 saving is worth looking out for.
A sturdy device. Magnets appear to be ok… But I wouldn’t assess the spirit level on the effectiveness of the magnets. The unadjustable bubble level is accurate, but the bubble for the adjustable dial is 2-4 degrees out….. Very poor accuracy and no Appa aren’t way to adjust/calibrate. To use this device to determine horizontal level is good…, but don’t use it to get an accurate inclination.
Despite being less than happy with a previous Stanley level, I was suckered into buying another by the discount being offered on this 250mm one. I hoped the fact it was a FatMax variant might mean the quality was better than the other Stanley level. It is better, but not perfect.
The fixed vertical and horizontal vials read accurately and the manufacturing quality is good. It has a milled base, with a pipe channel and strong magnets. Unfortunately, the rotating vial can’t be trusted. Setting it to 0 degrees (horizontal) should mean it matches the reading on the fixed horizontal vial, but the two give different readings.
Admittedly, it’s not often you’d need to check angles other than 0 degrees or 90 degrees, and so the fixed vials are all you’re likely to use in most situations; but there isn’t much point in having a rotating vial if it isn’t calibrated properly.
I can’t say I’ve used this for anything particularly practical as yet, but it seems perfectly accurate on everything I’ve tested. It’s a solid looking and feeling bit of kit, with clear bubbles given the small format.
The worse part for me though? “Rare earth magnets which are twice as strong as basic strip magnets.” – says the description. They must be rare, so rare, that they’re missing! The magnets in this are far from strong. They hold it in place nicely on a solid, wide metal surface, but on my tv bracket (narrow metal contact patch) it doesn’t work at all. DO NOT BUY if you were sold on the idea of a magnetic level. It’s a gimmick more than anything else. I think giving it 3 stars would be harsh, but for it’s function as a MAGNETIC level alone, it doesn’t deserve more than 3.
I bought this to replace an older level that I was finding increasingly hard to see, especially in lower light conditions. The totally open top design makes this much quicker and easier to use. It has taken a few tumbles and knocks without any damage, so far.
It is that bit chunkier and not so easy in and out of side pockets as my older, slimmer one.
The magnets are quite strong. My old level had the full length strip, but could not hang on any where near as well as this one. My old level was plastic and you could easily forget you had it in your pocket. Not this one! The adjustable vial is not something I have had any use for yet, but is a good firm fit and not loose in any way.
Apart from the possible side pocket problems (will not fit in some work trousers) I cannot fault this level. Solid, weighty, well built, very easy to read in any light conditions and looks good too. Well worth the money.
