i liked it the graphics are great, the story line is predictable
Good game but not great it could of had a campaign mode like a story mode what let it down but the rest of the game was great just no story mode let it down.
Havent played this game as such as bought for the VR part. The VR segment is an experiance in its self and was worth the 5 i paid for a S/H copy you download the VR part for free but you must own the full game to get it to work. The VR segment is very short around 18mins but feels like 3 and has short replay value but it is an awrsome experiance and im glad i tryed it.
The gaming community is very harsh on many games just for the sake of being awkward, hence they have marked this game down in many areas. On the whole the game is great value, fantastic graphics, audio is spot on and the star war worlds you play in are so lush and deep in colours, lighting etc…. the game play is as easy and hard you want to make it, the game has so many options to play both evil and good, either way you will enjoy this game, ignore the moaning bits on here.
It is a good game with a good amount of content and high details but personally got bored in a week or so, so gave it to my mate and he seems to enjoy it, says he likes the big scaled battles, the visuals, the war between land and air.
Game was delivered the day it was meant to, however sometimes when I’m playing online matches I randomly get kicked out or it just becomes unplayable due to the lag. My Internet box is right next to my ps4 in my bedroom and only 2 other people share the WiFi with me. I’ve checked if there was any problems with my WiFi and there was none, so it’s definitely something wrong with the game servers. I would still give it 4 stars because this only happens once or twice a day.
When Star Wars: Battle Front was first released I was impressed with the graphical detail but felt the game lacked content! However things have improved in 2016 with the release of DLC content at an extra cost of 39.99 for the Season Pass on PSN which currently gets you four extra mission packs including content from the latest Rouge One movie with new game modes and one VR mission. It feels like more of a game now so if you play online with friends this a good choice as you can partner up, create a game party or go it alone in the Outer Rim.
First things first,This game is purely online play, there is very little solo play & there is no campaign game at all. If you are new to ps4 there’s a few things you need to know. 1) online play with ps4 is not free you’ll need a PlayStation + subscription. This is 39.99 for 12 months or you can pay monthly at 5.99. 2) this is a game by EA you’ll also need an EA account set up before you can play, also this game will take up a lot of space on your hdd, almost 40GB is needed.
As far as gameplay & over all look, I can’t fault it, the graphics are smooth, awesome in fact & very realistic visual & sound effects. You have many modes of game play to choose from,up to 40 can be online at once. As you play though the game you need to score points, rank up & earn coins so you can upgrade your weapons by buying in the collect store option. There are 10 game modes, some of the game modes are as follows. BLAST: where you join a team fighting the enemy,( rebel or imperial ) make as many kills as you can to win before the time runs out. Cargo, where upon you steal your enemies stash & transfer it to your own, first to ten is the winning team or the team that has stolen the most cargo when the time is up.
You’ll have hours & hours of game play, this being the standard edition you’ll get no added packages with it but your you can upgrade the game play & features from the PlayStation store as there is plenty DLC ( downloaded content ) packages to choose from.
I’ll rate this game 8/10 purely coz I’m a Star Wars fan & have been around since the originals so seeing my child hood fave moves come to life in an actual game like this, it’s blown my mind.
You can play on which side you like which side are you gonna choose !?
Having recently got a ps4 this was the first game I wanted to buy. It’s star wars and a fps, what’s not to like!
Recently ea have added some improvements to the single player games, which have helped as it was not possible to play with a friend just shooting bots.
The sound effect, etc are spot on.
It’s disappointing that there are limited maps and it costs another 35 to get the updated packs, but it’s like that for a lot of games now. Although the current season price is lower and death star maps are being released soon.
I recommend this game especially if you are a star wars fan.
The lack of a story mode has been the focus of much criticism for this game, however I’ve never seen this as the focus for these types of games and so am not too bothered by it.
The game itself is great fun and has done a good job of making it feel like the Starwars universe whilst retaining the solid first person shooter game play of Battlefield.
The recent addition of free dlc to include a competitive bot mode (whereby you play against could controlled enemies instead of other players) was a great idea, and I often play this in split screen with my young nephew who would not be good enough to play against real opponents.
First off, I would like to say that I have not played the original Battlefront games but, I do know what they were like. Frankly, having looked at both the originals and this reboot make my review more objective.
I think this is a great game. It’s pretty much everything a Star Wars fan wants. To have the immersive feeling of being a grunt in both armies in the Galactic civil war. This game allows you to take on all aspects of the Battlefield. You can sink over a hundred hours into this game and have tons of fun. As of now, the game is having constant updated to balance, fix bugs, and adding many things.
This is the most important thing. The game is not, never was meant to be, and never will be like the original games. It is basically the opposite. It would be hard to describe all the differences but I would recommend watching gameplay videos or renting the game to see for yourself. Do not get this game hoping for the originals. That is basically the whole reason people say this game is bad. Because it wasn’t like the old ones.
My only problem with this game is the DLC. Now, I know what everyone thinks about EA but they have not done that with this game. There are DLCs but they are more of a bonus to the regular game. The DLCs themselves are great. They are, too me, worth the money (you might want to watch YouTube videos of the DLC to see for yourself). Before I knew what was in the DLC I was fine with just the base game. However after seeing the DLCs it was amazing. But the base game seemed much less interesting in comparison. It basically made me feel like I needed to DLC. That is my only Con.
I would recommend if you are going to get the game, or even if you are not, to either rent the game or watch some YouTube videos of the game. Decide if you like what you see. Don’t make your decision on this game or any game based off of gamer reviews. They will never be objective. Even this review, which I did my best on to be objective is biased because I love this game. Make your own decision.
Bought this for a friend. Been playing it since launch day and it keeps getting better and better. Highly recommended if you like online play. The next update brings more offline content. The season pass is 100% worth buying too as it expands on the original game and offers so much rich content. Very active development team bringing constant free updates and weekend events. Fantastic game.
Bought this for my BF as one of his Christmas gifts. I knew he wanted Battlefront, so I didn’t have a hard job with this one.
I searched online and most other retailers were charging an extra 10 for the PS4 version. Having purchased games on Amazon for another relative, I knew I was getting a good deal.
He loves the game (although he has not played this since Fallout 4 and The Witcher 3 came out…..he’s easily distracted) and I would recommend it for hard core Star Wars fans! He couldn’t stop smiling when he played as Darth Vadar!
I’m really enjoying playing this game and haven’t even ventured into the multiplayer territory yet. Yes it may be considered repetitive, but no more so than Battlefield or Call of Duty games. I may be looking at it through rose-tinted glasses as I’m a big Star Wars fan, but it’s hard not to recommend it at this cut price! (14)
Despite all the negative reviews of the game I think that it is now worth it at a lower price. The gameplay is excellent, graphics are top notch, it also uses the original star wars music so that’s a plus. It is multiplayer only but it is worth it, it is not buggy and animations are excellent. My one fault is the lack of content. Even now almost a year after release dice is making you pay for more naps. ..
I was unsure about purchasing this due to negative reviews but Im so glad I did. I think this game is great for star wars fans, the graphics are great, beautiful game to look at, online mode is great, good maps and online game modes.
Only reason I have not given it 5 stars is because I find the offline mode to be lacking, in my opinion it is only worth playing online I feel like this could have been improved. Also due to the staggering amount of DLC not included in the actual game. Now that the its been out for a while and the price has gone down I would feel like its definitely worth the buy.
Brilliant game . Don’t listen to all the naysayers. This is proper old school online shooting but even better it’s in the most amazing Star Wars world I’ve seen . The graphics and sound are incredible . The battles are amazing and at no point do you feel like you’re not as good as anybody else. There’s no lag to annoy either. Who cares about a single player campaign ? I don’t . I just wanna experience being part of a squad of storm troopers steaming into battle . You can’t beat it honestly . I used to dream about that when I was a kid and now they’ve made it a reality (almost). If battlefield was starting to get a bit complicated and the fun wasn’t anymore, if you really love Star Wars then you cannot fail to love this game also if you don’t get to spend 8 hours a day honing your skills and just want an hour or two here and there then this is perfect for you .
My son loves this and it makes a change from the usual killing and anguish. He even taught me how to play it! If you’ve played Starwars Lego on the Wii youll love it!
Great graphics, good online play. Bit disappointed that there is no game to play through, all online and there’s the problem…..
Most of the people that are playing are full time players, do they not go to school or work or have another life ??
Can’t seem to last long so gets very frustrating getting killed all the time, therefore not getting a good play through.
With Star Wars Battlefront, DICE have delivered a product that deeply emerses the player in the Star Wars universe. The impressive graphics are almost photorealistic and inspire a deep nostalgia for the original trilogy of films. Hoth’s snowy caverns look almost identical to those in Empire Strikes Back and this feeling of familiarity is only enhanced by the original orchestral score.
While there are a number of game modes, I was left feeling a little underwhelmed by the longevity of Star Wars Battlefront. Yes, the Walker Assault on Hoth is a classic scene from the franchise, but there are only so many times you can play the same sequence before getting bored. The other included multiplayer modes are certainly enjoyable, but I do question how long I will continue to play them once the initial novelty has worn off. Much of my concern regarding the replay value of this game would have been alleviated if a single player campaign had been included. Unfortunately, there is not one present and the game relies almost entirely on its multiplayer content.
Although I question how long I will continue to play Battlefront for, I have been very much enjoying it so far. As a long-time Star Wars fan, the overall presentation of Battlefront triggered my nostalgia and provided a fun and immersive experience.
Im like most a star wars super fan so right of the bat i wanted the classic star wars feel to a game.not bothered about awakens(i can wait for next battlefront game for that)maps or characters and defo no prequal ones.it was all about the first 3 films for me to give me the nostalgia after seeing the great force awakens movie 3 times now. and boy this gives any super fan what they want. The shooter part (1st/3rd) is out of this world brilliant.great maps,a good selection of game modes,go your favorite hero or villian, and just really good fun, only down side i have is im struggling to control the jedi/sith,im much better with a good blaster at my side but watching others play it makes me think i just have to practice a bit more with them
Got black opps 3 about 2 weeks before this and im thinking of trading it in as i just dont see myself going to play it as this is much, much better…then there is the flight sim part.on christmas day i went a x wing and just hitting the first few tie fighters down a week after seeing new movie had me and my daughter shouting out big woooo hooo,s,great fighter sim and very easy to pick up so good and arcade like, only 2 down sides are (in my opinion) x wings are way better than ties(the interceptor aint bad mind) and no outer space maps but that can be sorted with season pass(which after playing i bought as well) a lot of people saying no campain is a downer.i dont see how 1)they could have done a campain as it might have muddled up new movie with storyline so developers probably told no by disney for that 2) how they would have had the time.sometimes its better to have a little of what is amazing than a lot of which is ok and most of time now with shooters i never usually play the campain anyhow(prob would have with this one mind with it being star wars) but im sure you might get one in next battlefront..yea i see what people ar saying that you need to spend a total of 80 quid(game+season pass) but the amount i have spent on rubbish to awful star wars games in the past 15 years means i really dont mind paying for both game and pass with this game..summary: fantastic game for anyone..however a total must have game for young and old star wars fans.that advert when guys jump into x wings is 100%how i felt christmas morning, hope you enjoy
Meets all my expectations of a Star Wars battlefront sequel. The sounds , graphics , atmosphere , and gameplay is amazing. You die a lot like your supposed to but you get a lot of kills using a run an gun tactic. It gives the amazing feeling that your in an actual battle field with blaster shots flying everywhere and you definitely feel like your in Star Wars.
Having been genuinly excited by this from its initial announcement, I became sceptical, based on customer reviews, whether to buy this or not. I’m happy to say my scepticism was unwarranted. I absolutely love this game – I’ve not had as much fun playing a FPS game for years and can’t put it down.
If you are a Star Wars fan but have become disillusioned by the monotonous, annual rehashed COD games of recent years, as I have, then you really can’t go wrong with this.
The force is strong with Battlefront!
I get why people are annoyed, but this is pretty much how battlefield 4 started… they’ll bring out a load of dlc and everyone will be happy. Only down side is the 40 season pass.
I’ve had a tonne of fun playing it. Lives up to everything I could have hoped for in a Star Wars game. Great job DICE! EA you still kinda suck…
