This is a simple and quick game to play with two players, where you compete to create a line of five characters, by pushing blocks out of the game board and replacing them with a block showing your character.

The game is star wars themed and has cartoon style depictions of several characters from the franchise.

At time of review the game is priced at just under 17, which I think is a little expensive and it would be better priced around 12.

This is a review for Star Wars Top Trumps Match Board Game.
It’s a fun game for 4+ year olds.
You insert cubes into the blue thing, you need to get 5 in a row (diagonal, vertical or horizontal).

  4. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

The aim of the game is to match 5 cubes in a row, be it horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. There are 15 Star Wars characters including Kylo Ren, Boba Fett, and the Stormtroopers.
After all 25 dice have been inserted into the game grid and each player has received 2 face-down top trumps character cards, each player exchanges one dice, in turn, so that he receives a five-row with the same symbols. The first player who succeeds has “won”. The loser still has a chance to turn his defeat into a victory. If one of the loser’s two hidden cards matches the winning player’s line of 5, he gets the series and has won.

Great game for every Star Wars fan! Recommended!

I use it as a treat for tuition kids, as staying after school is a drag anyway, and having to do some Maths or English after 5 lessons is not as much fun as one would want, so I have a bunch of tricks up my sleeve to get them going – this is one of them! The game does not take too long and it is fun for the players and those in the audience! It is similar to9connect 4, but a lot more fun as has an element of surprise around every corner, so to say! The game is very well made and easy to maintain in the condition you get it in, which is very important if you need to be mobile and deliver sessions in more than one location. I gotta say my students do not care that much for the theme, but the concept of the game and how easy and fun it is is what gets them going! Price is fab too, if you ever bought from professional school resources suppliers, you’ll know that this is quite cheap, tbh. Bottom line – fantastic!

The game is relatively easy to play, although the rules are a tad confusing. But it’s fun and frustrating at the same time. Basically, you push out a block back and forth until you match 5 in a row. The characters are cute, and the game is well made. But it’s a VERY quick game.

This is a fast and fun game for young kids. They don’t have much patience therefore fast game is good to keep them in it. This is a much-loved game if your kids are star war fans. The instruction manual is included but the concept of the game is very easy to understand. The game is all packed in a little hard case and is very easy to carry around even on trip. The game is fast and easy to play so it can actually go on for hours of fun.

Comes well presented in a brightly coloured box. Perfect for any star wars fan. You get the game board which opens up, 25 cubes pieces, 15 cards and an instruction manual. The manual is well worded with diagrams so you can understand it quite simply. 2 player. Easy enough to set up and get started in no time. It’s set up in a similar way like you do with battle ships, each side of the board is a different set up to the other and only each player can see their own side. The aim is to match 5 characters in a row- horizontal, diagonal or vertical. You take it in turns to push out cubes and try to get your match. It looks and feels of good quality. The game board is quite sturdy. Everything can be contained in the board and is compact enough to take out with you. Suitable for all ages. Fun to play and can get quite competitive. A game which can be played over and over again.

Simple and fun game that will be liked by Star Wars fans and those who simply love playing games. It’s a bit of a spin on Connect 4 but with blocks and some fun elements that means you’ve got to keep on your toes while playing.

The game itself is good quality, extremely portable and seems fairly sturdy and robust. It is simple to set up and great for all of the family, young and old to play. This one is Star Wars themed but I don’t think that should put you off if not a fan of this! I was expecting more of a Top Trumps element to the game but that isn’t the case for this game -not an issue, just obviously a game Top Trumps is expanding to include.

Overall a good bit of fun, great for memory recall and reasonably priced.

Brilliant very fun game which is perfect for older kids or adult kids/Star Wars fans who will absolutely love it! Is an interesting twist/combination on a few games and not one have come across before, but once read thorough and played for the first time it’s very easy for anyone to play and the current price on Amazon is a real bargain so would definitely recommend – will make a cool fun Christmas present for any Star Wars fans.

This is a great brain training game but it is quite tricky and I would say a game for 8 years +. Perfect for a child who loves puzzles and methodical thinking. Would highly recommend.

A Star Wars Top Trump themed board game priced at 16.00. Will surely be a hit with both younger and older fans. You don’t need to be a fan of the movies but for those who do it is nostalgic.
The game is lightweight and compact, the board folds up so can be taken with you which is handy making it portable. It is quite a sturdy case.
The sides flip down and there are slots to place your cards down during the game.
The aim of the game is to match five in a row, better if you can get two of the characters on your cards. If not there is a chance your opponent can steal the game. If they have the card that is the same as the match they win the game.
As with most games the youngest player goes first, they push out the top left cube to start the game. The second player uses this to push out a cube to try and get their match.

This game reminds me of connect four but feels like it’s been mixed with frustration. After ages trying to match my 5 in a row I find I’ve lost because my opponent has the card I’ve used to match my characters in a row with. Lol. We’ve played this quite a few times over the last week now, my son loves this but probably because he keeps winning. 🙂 easy to set up and easy to play. Definitely hours of fun.

Official Star Wars Top Trumps game that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

It’s great fun and very straightforward to pick up the rules of the game without needing a degree in quantum physics. My son is delighted with it, which is the is the most important thing although the force is strong in that one as I’ve yet to win a game!

Great value, perfect stocking filler for the kids or even a gift for a Star Wars nerd such as myself so I’d happily recommend it..

This is not like the top trumps games I used to play as a kid, this reminded me more of Connect Four. It was though a good fun game, ideal for younger and older kids alike. It’s well made, sturdy and good quality. Love the Star Wars theme and that would appeal to many. Would make a great gift or stocking filler, although it is a little expensive.

Although it’s made by Top Trumps, this isn’t a traditional Top Trumps game. It’s a line them up sort of game — a bit like Connect 4 with a twist! I’ve seen the same basic game with lots of different branding, Paw Patrol, Mario, Marvel etc. This one is branded Star Wars, and I really liked the fun pop-art style of graphics that they’ve used. To play you randomly fill the grid with cubes – each cube has a different Star Wars character on each side. The first player pushes the top left cube through from their side of the grid. The second player then takes that cube, chooses a character that they want to having showing on their side and pushes it back into the grid, knocking out another cube onto the other players side. And so it goes. Each player starts trying to make rows of characters, but neither side knows what the other side is doing. It’s simple to learn and fun to play. The sort of game that the whole family can take join in with.

Fun and easy to play game for any little Star Wars fan .. but it’s not a requirement to have knowledge of the franchise to enjoy the game as my 4 year daughter enjoyed it just as much as her older star wars loving cousin.
It’s a unique spin on a old classic game.
We have played many rounds of it now and they haven’t grown tired of it.
A new favourite in our household.

This is an absolutely fabulous game to play. My 7 year old son loves it. he’s Star Wars obsessed. I’d say it’s closely related to connect 4, except it’s so much better as you can knock your opponents pieces out of place, and there are so many more options that you can take, to get 5 in a row.

The case is sturdy for travelling, but the cubes and cards that you use could easily get lost if it was to be played whilst travelling, e.g on a plane, train or in the back of a car, as when you open the case, the pieces & cards fall out easily, if you’re not careful! Easy to transport though, to take away on holiday with you. No need to keep it in the original packaging as it all fits inside the sturdy case.

This is a very interesting game. It seems like a very new modern twist based loosely on the very successful game of 4 in a row. Kids love this game. It’s easy to use, easy to learn and easy to play. Great for gifting.

Great games for kids and teens, especially those into Starwars. Hours and hours of fun to be had and fairly easy and quick to set up and get the hang of. You can play with one of your 15 favourite characters and all you have to really do is match 3 to win. It’s actually really fun and could be a good family Christmas game as I found it quite in interesting. Duo play game, so great for a small family or for your child to play with there friend 🙂 overall I’m very happy, I think the price is reasonable and that it would make a great gift for someone’s birthday / Christmas. The game folds up pretty well too, making it a good on the go take with your game 🙂

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this one. The game play is interesting and doesn’t take too long to get used to. The rules are reasonably simple and can be adapted for quicker game play.

The randomness of this game makes it hard to strategise. I’m sure you could learn what each die has on it but that would be a little crazy over the top.

    Solid and well built.
Packs away neatly to take on your travels or even just storing it at home

This game is not at all how I thought it would be with it being called Top Trumps, so I thought somewhere in the game there would be an element of the Top Trumps card games, but it’s not the case, so I was a little confused!

This game is more like Connect 4 with a twist, the twist being you never know what pieces the other player has. So you might be setting yourself up for five matching pictures in a row and you could then be foiled when the other player removes the cube you needed! It’s definitely fun and straightforward but interesting to play and the set is nicely made. I’m sure we will have lots of fun over our family Christmas with this.

In summary this a fun family game that can be played across generations. The price isn’t bad at 19.99 (at the point of review), though I think the Top Trumps 8n the name is rather misleading. You can play it even if you’re not a Star Wars fan, but perhaps if you are you’ll get a bit more out of it. Good solid game and four stars from me.

The aim of the game is to get 5 of the same cubes in a row but look out – your opponent can push your cubes out to stop you getting a line. Similar principle to ‘Connect 4’ the difference being these cubes have Star Wars characters printed on them. The product description says suitable for 6months to 3 years of age which I’m sure is a typo as theres small pieces that aren’t suitable for young children. My six year old daughter has picked up the game with no problem and has enjoyed playing, therefore I’d say more suitable for ages 5 +

The rules are simple, and even if (like me) you are not a fan of the films, you will enjoy playing it.

It reminded me of Connect 4, but there’s greater angst when your opponent pushes out the cube you need to win the game; of course, you could always do the same to them, but as you don’t know where they are planning a row it is all a game of chance, with a little skill involved. It’s suitable for all ages, and above all fun and slightly on the noisy side, from the players that is – moans and groans galore when we played it.

It’s solidly made, and it folds up on itself, so it is very portable – excellent for holidays and journeys in the car.

Good value, and a slight twist on an old favourite.

The sign of a good game is one that’s fun, but also engages the brain. This one scores a plus for both. It’s well-made, pretty decent quality, and of course being Star Wars themed, will appeal to many youngsters (and not so young-sters )

It’s very handy that the whole thing folds into itself, and very handy to slip into a bag, and would be ideal for keeping kids occupied on a journey, especially on say a train.

The game is good, albeit an air on a traditional theme, and has been nicely put together. The pieces are quite small, as are the cards, and in many ways it would be nice if a fair bit larger. However, with that would come more space for storing, and not so portable, so overall its fine as is. The pieces all seem decent quality, although one or two of the cubes are very tight in the slots (but not enough to be a real issue).

The instructions are good, clear, in decent size print (for a change), on good quality glossy paper
    (booklet format).

All in all, a super game that can be played over and over, and unlikely to become something youngsters will get bored with. Great for memory development.

I hope this has been helpful.
