Strong Point Games 2022
The rules are there to act as a guide but they’re not set in stone!!
You could set your own number of question rounds or you could allocate someone to take the role of Question Master.
For an added element of tactical gameplay, at the start of a turn allow the active player to trade one Strong Point card (only if they possess one) for the next question card in the deck.
As the player going first is unable to trade a Strong Point Card on their first turn, this rule must come into effect after one full round.
Remember, to win in this game it’s not just about your own knowledge.
If youn have younger children playing then the option is there to give them more than one pile of category cards to choose from OR they could team up with an adult to make the ultimate dream team.
Adult Team Play is also great if you have more than six people!
However you play… It’s about knowing your opponent’s STRONG POINTS!

Amazing fun with a group of friends, but my wife and I also love this game with just the two of us; it’s something we love playing again and again.
Would massively recommend for any family/group of friends/couple!!
A fantastic family friendly game with an exciting twist. Great for even those who aren’t usually good in a quiz and gives everyone that extra feeling of involvement. Small box and easy to carry- we love taking it on holiday with us for some evening entertainme
Played at Xmas and then daily since then as we all loved it as a family. Learnt so much! Loved the guessing part as well. Well done design team. We need the extension pack now !
I bought this for the family to play on Boxing Day. We love a general knowledge/trivia type quiz and this was right up our alley. Played in teams with family from age 24-75. Good range of topics and loved the guessing how many people would answer correctly – a novel twist. Would recommend.
A great family game and an exciting little twist: You basically ‘bid’ on how well you think your opponents can answer given questions!
We’ve had a few plays of this with varying age groups within the family, and it’s a great little competitive game.
Everything is nicely made, the instructions are clear, and there are sooooo many questions/ categories that the game itself will have a lot of lasting appeal.
The price is 22.99 at the time of review, and this is about right for these kinds of self-contained contemporary card games… I would be very surprised if this one didn’t get an expansion pack – a popular option for games of this type to keep it alive even longer with more questions/ subjects!
Very happy with this one, and would totally recommend.
Really fun game! It was easy to learn and we had a great time playing it for a couple of hours. The best part is that it is easily transported to one are as the next since it’s all in this tiny box. Wanna sit in the garden, done! Bored of the garden and want to go in and play, easy peasy! Would make a great stocking filler.
This is a game not just for playing with casual acquaintances, but for playing with your real buddies or close family. You get 5 questions on your special subject, and the more you answer, the better it is for you. However, the biggest impact on your points is really dependant on how much you know about the other players. You bid the number (1 to 5) of their questions that you think that they will get right and if your bid is correct you get more points.
We found we could play 3 rounds with 4 of us per hour, and some of the questions were brilliant, but others were so far out of our knowledge base they made Trivial Pursuit seem easy.
Basically this is another attempt to make a packaged game out of a pub quiz and if you like trying to prove you know someone better than anyone else in the room, then this is ideal for you.
If you just like trivia, then you can do what they recommend, which is make up your own rules. Ultimately, you can play this the way you want. The question sets can be really engaging, but I think you can come unglued very quickly if you find you don’t know people as well as you thought you did.
Worthwhile for those of you who love trivia!
Strong Point Game
Trivia card game for 2-6 players, age 14+.
Simple to play, players take it in turn to be asked a set of 5 related category questions of a card. They get points for how many they get correct. Key difference is the other players are told the category and make a secret guess with tokens on how many questions they think the other player will get right.
The person answering the questions gets a point card corresponding to the number correct, those players who guess correctly how many of the 5 (including zero) questions were answered correctly get a single strong point card. Winner after an agreed number of rounds is the player with most points (strong point + point cards).
Couple of issues to consider
– the player being questioned must answer all 5 before the answers are read out, so the questioner might need to jot something down (to avoid arguments)
– the questions are nicely UK focused (rather than more typical US questions)
– though aged 14+, the categories might be trickier for different age groups ( e.g. 21st century musicians, black & white movies) – but that gives the other players opportunities
– all players stay motivated even when not answering
– text on the cards could be larger
Game is nicely compact (13*13*7.5cm) in sturdy box, with handy drawstring bag to keep the token together.
In essence, this is an old school trivia game packed with questions on a variety of topics. As far as I can tell after a couple of Saturday night games with the family, the questions are equally weighted in terms of difficulty with there not being anything too drastically severe and most topics falling under an overall umbrella of General Knowledge rather than there being anything hyper-specialized or academic. Naturally, one of your family members may know a lot more about black and white movies than they do about 21st Century musicians, but part of the fun is in the luck of the draw – you shuffle the questions deck and you don’t know what subject you will be quizzed on.
Which leads to the game’s twist, or hook. Not only are you attempting to get all of your questions right, but the other players are trying to correctly guess how many questions you will get right. This can lead to some light ribbing or potential divorce as you assume your wife will get 0 questions right about Muscular Male Nude Models but are shocked when she gets five out of five (note, the quiz does not include such a category). If you correctly guess the number of questions someone gets right, then you also get a special points card. There was some confusion upon seeing all of the different decks of cards and reading the instructions as there are cards with numbers, special single point cards, special higher point cards, and pop out cardboard number cards, but after a second or third reading and a first game, it all becomes fairly obvious; The cardboard cards are for your personal guesses on how many you think someone will get right – a little redundant but perhaps done to prevent cheating, the points cards from 1-5 are a way to keep your score rather than with pen and paper, and the special point cards are taken if you successfully guess how many someone gets right.
While there are lots of question cards, and five questions on each card, if you play this game frequently with the same group, you’ll soon run out of questions and find yourself repeating. If you only play a few games here and there, this won’t be a problem, but for dedicated players it would be good to have some additional question decks released over time. As an alternative, if you have a Trivial Pursuit or other some game with an appropriate number of questions, you could proxy those in and continue playing.
One further note on the difficulty – you could have a shorter and more condense game by simply removing some of the more tricky topics that you don’t think your kids would have any knowledge of, but for players of around 12 and over the majority of the topics should come as no great surprise. It’s a fun game which we have enjoyed dipping our toes into, and anything that gets the family around the table to talk and laugh with phones set aside for an hour is good in my book.
Great game, keeps everyone engaged on every turn with plenty of opportunities for debate and banter. Good for teenagers and up. Nice variety of question topics with loads to get through so should last a goo while.
Nice quality as well. Highly recommended.
I bought this from the owner in a local market in Newcastle. A small company and locally made. I took it home for Christmas and it became the most played game over the two weeks. Really easy to learn, easy to pick up and start playing immediately. A nice twist to a classic game. Soooo many questions, enough for hours and hours of play.
Great game for a wide range of abilities and ages. Played over Christmas with family and really enjoyed it. Easy to play and understand the rules. Would highly recommend it!
What a great concept for a game, so much so that we bought this as a secret Santa present and can guarantee that the recipient will love it. We foresee lots of laughter and fun and hopefully further purchases by friends of the recipient! Thanks Simon and Gillia
Had high expectations for this game after reading the blurb.it did not disappoint!!!
If you like a trivia game then this is a must to add to your collection! Such a wide range of categories and lots that you rarely see in trivia games.
A massive plus is that there is no board so you can just kick back and relax whilst you playit really ticks all boxes!
Only downside is that there is only 1 edition so farhoping that as it becomes more popular they will start to develop more editionsit’s just too good!!
We bought this game on the back of a recommendation and were not disappointed! The best part of the game is it includes everyone not just people with mega general knowledge. Plus the side of the game where you guess on what everyone else might know was hilarious. Bravo Strong Point Team!!
Fantastic quiz game that has something for quiz pros and novices so everyone playing feels a part of the game and has a chance to win. Well packaged with a huge amount of questions and categories as well accessories to play the game. Great for a large group or between a couple of people, can get competitive very quickly! Would highly recommend buying!
