When putting up shelves this little item saved me a lot of worry, not only finding where the electrical cables went but also the wooden frame behind a stud wall.
The only downside is that it can give false readings if you tilt the unit more than a few degress when using it.
wanted one of these for a while now, save the reviews and bought it. wasn’t disappointed and good value for money. takes a while getting used to the functions but its a very good peice of kit for us DIYers.
I have not had much success with these type of devices over the years, however this device is on a different level.
Within minutes of taking it out of the box, I was itching to try it out.

I hasten to add, I had a job waiting, where I needed to locate wooden stud behind plasterboard, immediately after the recommended calibration, the device located all that I needed within seconds, I even tried a couple of pilot holes to make sure.
Location was essential, as I was fixing wall mounted cabinets.
Old device now in the bin. Very good value for money, and easy to use.
Needed to find some studs and electrical wiring behind some plasterboard. I wondered why the reading seemed all over the place, I was holding the machine pointing at the wall rather than the bottom flat! Soon as I worked out I was being dumb it found the studs perfectly and the wiring too. For the price I think its a great tool.
I have tried a couple of others and returned them, but this seems to be reliable and clear in it’s scans. Just a bit of a pain having to calibrate it so many times as you move around a room.
