A Lovely fun game and easy to follow the instructions, amazing game design and quality, it is lovely to spend a times with family and friends, great fun and really enjoyable.
Really well-made horse racing game for 14+ players. 14+ is crucial as the instructions are complicated (well even for an adult). I gave this as a present to a friend and she was pretty nostalgic as apparently, she played similar game with her parents when she was a child.
This is a good quality brand and the presentation of the board is very well done.
Never played a horse-racing game before, so this was certainly something different.
Quite a lot of cards/sections to get your head around to start, but the general feel was that this is a fun game choice.
Would also make for a great gift idea for fans of the sport.
Overall, happy with this and wouldn’t mind trying some of the other games.
Perfect for when all the family gets together. The recommended age is 13+ and for three or more players. I would have to agree with that any less than three or four players and this game doesn’t really work equally you have to have quite a good understanding to be able to Play. My 11-year-old managed to play but it’s certainly more of an older game. All the pieces are really high quality and you can tell a lot of thought went into this. We always get the family together for the Grand National so this was a perfect game to that event.
As a fan of board games, I have to say that it was a lot of fun to play. You can compete for the International Festival Prize Cup even if you don’t know anything about horse racing.
My family and I played this game, and it was perfect for our family.
The rules of the game were easy to understand. We chose our jockey pieces and rolled the dice. As we won races and got money, we moved clockwise around the game board. The gameplay cards, collection cards, and profile cards made the game even more fun.
The game comes with two sets of instructions, one gameboard, 420 game cards, six collection cards, six profile cards, six playing pieces, one notepad, and one wooden die. The quality of the game’s parts was impressive, which made the game even more fun to play.
Overall, it is a great addition to any board game collection and can keep family and friends busy for hours.
I’m VERY IMPRESSED with the quality of the manufacturing. This is a high quality product. The box, for example, is STURDY cardboard but built to last. The lid glides on with that lovely sliding action that only precision brings. This is not a floppy box that will fall to bits in a week. I also note that the instructions come on sturdy folded card not a weak scrap of paper. This all speaks of quality to me.
The game is complex (I actually think it’s too complex) but online resources help with this. This is a game FOR ADULTS and I would say ‘sophisticated’ adults at that. IMHO the subject matter is unsuitable for minors as well.
If you and your friends like the game, which is subjective, then you’ll appreciate the luxurious way this set has been made.
I hope these opinions and observations are helpful.
Talking tables racing game
The game can be played with up to 6 players. There is a QR code that should allow you to view a video of how to play the game but it just shows a video of people playing it, but it does come with an instruction sheet. The aim of the game is to win as many races and collect cash to fill the card to then be the winner. Quite a fun game when you have a few friends round of an evening.
Comes well presented, lovely bright colourful box, feels really heavy. Aim of the game is to win the most money by winning bets in the races. Comes with lots of cards to use – risk cards, boost cards, betting cards to name a few. It looks quite complicated in the box but the instructions are clear and easy to understand. It has a QR code to watch videos so you will need a smart phone or tablet to do this. I expected it to be more like the old race nights where you watch horse races and place bets, but there’s a lot more to this one. I personally found it difficult to understand but you need to work at it and it gets easier to understand. I would have normally given it 3 stars, but I’m adding an extra star on because of the excellent quality. It really is well made and looks really good. It’s not really for me, but this would be good for an adult evening (maybe too complicated for children?)

A great game which is lots of fun to play. Everything is well made, the game relatively simple but you will need to read the instructions. Once that done you will have lots of fun. I played a couple of times now with the lads and it has been a blast. Would recommend!
This is now part of out game night repertoire. Good quality pieces and sturdy. Though still cardboard it is strong. Easy to assemble and follow the rules. Great fun for everyone.
This is A great game for playing. The more people the better, especially if you’re competitive! So simple and great for all ages but still so much fun.
Easy to play with rules and really fun for all ages. Recommend to all. Laughter and frustration in equal measure!
The game is quite nostalgic with a traditional board game feel to it. Even down to a pad and some maths required to total up your winnings.
It’s pretty straightforward and quite a laugh.
I appreciate they’re B-corp, and there isn’t superfluous packaging. Perhaps the box could be a bit thinner (only mentioning this because of the eco-credential element). Being very picky there though!
The main irritation was QR and video content, mentioned on the box. Short advertisements for the game is all I’ve found. I don’t know why companies drop the ball like this. I am scanning the QR thinking I’ll be getting instructions or some additional content that goes with the game. Not so. I went online to search and found another advert. I don’t know if I’ve missed their content, but it doesn’t appear so.
I nearly dropped it a star for that. I spent a while trawling through the game cards to see if there were any other QR codes I was missing.
That said, it doesn’t really mention it in the product description, and that’s why I didn’t remove a star. Just don’t expect anything around this and you’ll receive what you’re expecting. And to the company – either take the sticker off the box or add some useable content, like a quick game run-through.
It was 35 at the time of review, which isn’t cheap, but it’s a game that should last.
Five stars
I took this for a week long break with some friends, and it was a hit. It took us back a bit to when we were younger and not TV addicts, and it just so happened that one of our friends was well into horse racing as his brother owned 2.
You get as much out of it as you put into it, so this may not appeal to some people who prefer more sophisticated modern electronic type games, but if you do like games of chance which really does not need a high degree of skill or strategy, then you may like this for a it of fun on a get together.
This is a fun game for all the family and friends. The rules were laid out quite simply and were easy to follow. I do wonder how long the horses/jockeys will last as they are made from card. I suppose it’s depends on how careful people are in using it. The base board isn’t too large so doesn’t need a lot of space.
Set at a very good price for the contents you get and the full enjoyment of the overall game. This board game comes complete with the main board, horses, tons of playing cards and then easy to follow instructions for quick and easy straight forward game play! Great for adults night in or getaways. This is a game which can be played and played again without it getting boring and is a lovely addiction to the games cupboard.
A fun game for all the family, the board is exceptional quality, very thick, clearly printed and interesting to look at. It comes folded into 6 squares which unfold to form a precise playing board.
All the cards and playing pieces fit inside the box but you’ll probably need some ribbon to tie round the cards as the paper ones have already split.
The rules are easy enough to understand and make for a fun family night and a nice change for electronic gadgets
This is quite a fun, light hearted game that can be played without much preparation or thought. All of the pieces needed for the game are generally good quality although the inside of the box could be better. My box had been opened before it arrived and some of the cards had scattered around inside but even in this condition it still looked well presented. The game is pretty easy to pick up with no over-complicated rules and can lead to a good bit of banter with the right people. Just good old fashioned friends and family fun.
Talking Tables Horse Racing Board Game
===============================
A light hearted family board game with easy rules. The only minor niggle I had was whilst the board pieces and box are very good quality board and card, the inside of the box holding the contents and separate piles of cards are made up of flimsy card inserts, and I cant see the insides lasting long.
I initially thought some of the cards were missing – they were not, some of the cards stuck together. There are enough pieces for 6 players and while there are QR codes for video content – I found the content a little lacking – for example the how to play the game QR code at the time of writing just plays the ad for the game, which does not explain the game at all.
Game plays well though. Good for a family night. Currently selling for 24.99
