These are a very good set of scales. They have a large weighing area which makes it easy to read when using large diameter bowls. The display is easy to read and responsive. Contrary to other reviews, I had no problem opening the battery compartment although I used specialist micro screwdrivers and then some flat blades to gently lift the compartment cover. Very pleased
Bought to replace old John Lewis scales that gobbled batteries, and auto switched off after only 1min 10secs. Answer the doorbell..and it’s gone !!!!
These.clear bright display.plate will take large pans.Hold feature (Hurray)..and 3mins 15secs on the auto (another Hurray).5kg weighing.

Good scales just disappointed that the white under tge glass has a scratch and the Taylor logo writing aint stright at all

Excellent scales. Nice and large but not too large to fit easily in drawer. Accurate. Easy to use. I love the white frosted glass look and the blue LED. People have commented that hard to open battery container. It’s not hard.but the effort comes as the battery seal ensures the product is waterproof. Huge bonus that it’s waterproof. I love these scales. Legitimately waterproof unlike others with picture of running tap water but comments report not really waterproof. This one is!
Nice looking set of scales – plain white base, blue numerals that are pretty easy to read. Bought to replace some plastic scales I had had for some time that never seemed to be sturdy enough for me.
As all of my kitchen accessories are also now white, these fit in well and are easy to pop back into their sturdy box to be put away in storage.
I was a bit annoyed that there are neither instructions or batteries provided, but as it was from the Warehouse section, I suppose I shouldn’t complain – they were half the original price and at least the batteries are easy to purchase and replace as needed. I look forward for to using them for some time to come.
One thing to note – on the description on the website it stated that the scales are waterproof but on the actual packaging it says to wipe clean only! Confusing!
Do not know how/why is it measuring ml! Because every liquid has differrent material/density so you can not measure liquid with scale if do not know 1 ml= ? gramm from that type of liquid.
Another one: the lid of the battery is fixed with 4 small screw.
The battery compartment screws were a little tight but realise that this is essential to keep the scales waterproof and hopefully I won’t need to replace the batteries too often.
The absolutley flat weighing platform is superb as food debris cannot get caught and is easy to keep clean can even be rinsed under the tap if necessary. My previous scales in addition to not being accurate below about 15grams had controls and a display panel which were recessed which meant that flour/sugar etc got trapped around the edges.
I cannot check the accuracy in any other way than by results….and the bread I have made has been more uniform sincce using these scales. I use fresh yeast and with my old scales a 9gram lump of yeast was a different size every time hence loaves that rose out of their container or only just about managed to rise. Not now – each loaf I have made weighing the yeast using The Taylor Pro Digital has been spot on!
Another excellent feature is that it weighs up to 14kg and another is being able to change from metric to imperial measurements with just a push of a button is great too and mustn’t forget the tare feature which is invaluable when adding ingredients into a bowl or pan!
Overall a fantastic piece of kit at a very good price and with a 20 year guarantee! So pleased with this purchase.
Iv used this to weigh my Pom pups. Very handy to use and accurate. We used little chest box for the pups to sit in so we can re use it in the kitche
Before I bought this I read the reviews, several about the screws to the battery compartment, and I have to agree with the other reviewers that it is pretty hard to remove them. I found that when you got the screws turned, they appeared to stick and the corners of the cover would go up, so what to do is push the corners down and remove the screws with a pair of pliers . They are a great size easy to use and other than the screws they are a good buy.
I was a little wary after all the complaints about the battery compartment, however, I found the screws undid very easily with the right screwdriver. I did make sure not to screw them back in too tightly.
I weighed a 2kg bag of sugar and it read 2038gm, which seems about right if you include the weight of the paper bag. A 250gm block of butter registered 268gm and a 2litre plastic milk carton 2029gm. A 50gm tube of antiseptic cream came up as 64gm, which again seems as expected.
So first impressions are that it is accurate. I wanted a scale that weighed larger amounts to try to get an accurate weight for the Xmas turkey instead of my usual guesstimate for calculating the cooking time. Can’t test that for almost 6 months fortunately!
Really like these scales. Large platform takes the largest of my Kenwood bowls and Le Creuset pans no problem. Accurate to use and large display. Easy clean as no joints etc. You need a screwdriver to get into the battery compartment, but this has a waterproof seal; so a good idea and I am sure the batteries will last ages and doubt I will need back in there for quite a while. I have found them fairly accurate at both very low readings and heavier weights.
I was way too excited when I got this which shows I’m past 30… good quality and it takes AAA batteries which are much cheaper and easy to find than the round ones. Its so pretty
I now can’t get them back I’m, but think the best course of action is to remove them entirely.
Please look at this feature – I was about to send them back!
I bought these scales to use for baking where I need to add small amounts of several ingredients. I can’t guarantee the accuracy as I have nothing against which to check them, but the results so far suggest they’re fine. My only slight qualm is that the reading fluctuates a bit and can jump up a couple of grammes a few seconds after you’ve stopped adding, but it only by a very small amount.
They’re stylish, light and very easy to clean. I’d recommend.
