Get the book and the decoder disk ready on the table. Leave any ‘strange items’ in the box until you’ve explicitly been told that you found them. Sort the cards in ascending order in 4 stacks – Riddle cards, answer cards, help cards and odd cards, but don’t look at the front sides yet. The goal is to solve the puzzles and escape together as quickly as you can!

Every lock is secured with a riddle with a 3 digit code of numbers, colours or symbols. Can you crack the code? Every lock corresponds to a puzzle and each puzzle is marked with a symbol. Take the first riddle card and let the games begin! Pay attention to every detail.

Enter each code solved into the decoder disk. Then, look through the viewing window on the smallest wheel to see a number. This number indicates the number of the answer card that you are allowed to look at. If the code is correct the answer card will tell you how to proceed.

The game ends when you have solved the last riddle and escaped the Haunted Roller Coaster. Use the Exit Game Certificate to see how well you did! When calculating the number of Help Cards used, only the ones that gave you new hints or solutions should be counted.

This one has a really good story that ties everything together. Didn’t think it was that difficult. As usual throw away clue cards else you’ll spoil the fun. Also as already said DO NOT take the last card. Go back and see where you went wrong

We enjoyed playing this game visiting the various train carriages. Vaguely reminiscent of Agatha Christie.

As with all of these games: A couple of the clues were too obscure for us to get, but we skipped using the help cards. The help clues occasionally to jump from telling you what you already know to the solution. The actual hint needed is that numbers aren’t very clearly defined sometimes, you need to get exactly the right angle or distance plus a healthy dose of imagination to see that it’s a number 6 not a 5 for example.

Orient Express is a great game though one of the best in the series.

I really enjoy the EXIT games. Have played quite a few of them now and they still have little surprises and challenges in them. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for something different to do in the evenings.

If you are a beginner I would recommend getting an easy game first to help you understand how to play. This took us a few hours to complete so was good value for money, however it can only be used once so not durable.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis game was difficult! I’ve done a number of escape rooms, both virtually and in person, and this one was one of the most difficult ones I’ve done. Granted, I’d had about 2/3rds of a bottle of prosecco at the time, but I had to use almost all of the clues. It also took me 3 hours to complete. My husband gave up after 45 minutes. Determined as always, I persevered and made it to the end. It was good fun though, and definitely worth purchasing. Probably better with more people though! I don’t think I’ll be joining MI5 anytime soon.

It was pretty challenging but good fun. This was our first one and it was a little tricky to get to grips with how it worked but the app was great and it was really fun once we got into it.

I have gone through most of the Kosmos EXIT games. They are a fun way for a small group to spend about 1 1/2 hours. Watch the difficulty level if its your first one! And remember they are NOT replayable, you have to cut/tear/write-on the materials inside.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersWe’ve now done 5 of these (Castle, island, catacombs, lab & finally this one) so are fully in the swing of how these work. Playing with our 3 kids (11, 13, 19) on a Sunday afternoon with snacks has become a really nice routine.

This was our favourite so far, everything seemed to fall into place & it takes a slightly different angle with the solution compared to the others (I agree with a prev reviewer to put Card P aside at the start). It also had the nicest background sounds on the companion app.

Are they easy? Not particularly though they do work in a certain way so each subsequent game gets easier to work through though they are never easy in themselves.

I’d recommend starting on the 1 or 2 ‘circle’ difficulty (as shown at the bottom of the box as pictured) so you can get to grips with how the creators think. We started on a 4 & it was a little frustrating at times esp working as a group of five.

All in all these are, frankly, bloody brilliant & I’ll be disappointed when we’ve worked our way through them all – which we will.

More challenging than I thought! Really fun game and a good introduction to this series of games. Just might take longer than you think to get the answer, or maybe that’s just me !

This kept us entertained and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The puzzles are all different and very well crafted. This is a four star difficulty we probably should have started on a 3 or even a 2 as it was our first attempt at this sort of game. 5 stars fully recommended.

As a first timer to this kind of game . We found it enjoyable the time seemed to past quickly and was quite surprised to find we had been play just over two hours . We will be buying more im sure

Bought this for new year ….. absolutely brilliant fun although we failed miserably..
Maybe not for beginners as it was 4 star difficulty rating (didn’t check this when I ordered) and if your new to escape games it can be a little confusing.
something different for a night in … sadly can only be used once so no option to share with friends as I initially thought but great value for money and I will Definitely be trying more

Before you buy – You will need to cut up and mark parts of this product, so it’s only suitable for one playthrough

We bought this as something different to do during the lockdown Christmas holidays.
Played with my wife and our 12-year-old.
We had a good evening’s fun from this – the puzzles require some lateral thinking, but the clues give you enough pointers if you get stuck.
Start to end the game took us around 1.5 to 2 hours to play through and kept us engaged and entertained throughout.

Great game! Was the first time for us and I think we underestimated how hard it was going to be (thought we could handle it haha) so we had to use the hints more than we wanted. Instructions were clear and helpful and really liked the aspect that you had to “destroy” some of the clues. Will buy this again, but maybe an easier one!

Played 4 or 5 of these now and I think they are excellent. Sure there were a couple of puzzles I don’t think we’d have cracked without a clue but that’s mostly because we hadn’t quite got in the groove or were running out of time. They won’t suit everyone and that might create a few negative reviews. We did the first one as a family of 4 and by the third there were only 2 of us still excited about it, the others got frustrated.

This was the first exit game I bought. Myself and my escape room partner usually get out of the real rooms pretty quickly, so I chose the harder game to start. It is great fun, and very, very well thought out. We bought a second one to keep us entertained on a lockdown night in, and it was just as good. They get you thinking, and are very good value for money. Will buy another definitely.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the second Exit game we have played as a family. I really enjoyed this one which was more challenging than the Abandoned Cabin but all the better for it. You will require some patience, organization and attention to detail while playing but these games are very cleverly put together and really do test your powers of deduction and reasoning. You need to set aside about 3 hours to play. We played with our 2 teenage daughters and 25-year old nephew on holiday and completed it within 2 and a half hours. Tip – read all clues very carefully and get a second person to read them too – would have saved us 30 mins if we had!!!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersReally enjoyable game – took two of us just over 90 minutes (with no arguments!) and only needed to use the help cards on one puzzle – and then, we could have kicked ourselves, because we had been so close to the solution! Some of the puzzles we managed to solve within a couple of minutes, some we spotted what we had to do but had to wait for extra cards, and some stumped us for a while. If you’re good at lateral thinking or cryptic crosswords I think you may find you have an extra edge, but I’m hopeless at those and still managed to have a useful input! Will be buying more.

Really well put together game. Took 4 of us just under 2 hours and was challenging enough to get our brains working with a nice mix of riddles and puzzles. We managed to salvage the parts so that it could be played again in the future without any problem. Would defintiely play the other titles in this series.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat little game, unlike others on the market definitely can’t reuse again – or least trying to save the bits may lead to less enjoyment of the game. Resign yourself to the one use only, try and find the game when not at RRP and have a blast.
