Loved this! Got this for my sons third birthday and he hasn’t let go of it. Can’t say I love the continuous motoring sound personally
The kids loved it only because they had already had lots of track to put it o
Easy to order, not too expensive. Exactly the train my son wanted to add to his collectio
Bought for my grandson who loves everything Thomas related, the smile on his face was worth it.
These are fantastic, my boys have hours of fun, they use them to tow there other cars, so imaginative, great little things for little money
so pleased with this train as it still sits on my old duplo train track.
It works great! We
Use it on its track or on the carpet and it is a pleasure to play with ti. It is very durable, my son breaks almost everything, and he spends a lot of time playing with it.
Useful motorised engine, which will run on floors and doesn’t need track. Weak point could be the plastic connectors which seem a little weak and might break off when subjected to the force of a three year old child. Time will tell. For now, he loves the little engine so much that I’m considering buying shares in Duracell!
Can’t answer very well this is for birthday present I like it it was what my grandson asked for hope he enjoyed i
Thomas obsessed toddler loves it. Well made and batteries last a while but connection between carriage a little fragile, but has survived a number of throws on hard floor! Drives on wooden and thomas track master train tracks and on hard floor! Hope this is helpful!
Nice train, Percy from the Thomas tank engine series. Quite a lightweight plastic engine and truck, powered by batteries. It works on the old tomy train track that we have from the 1990s but is not as sturdy as the original train from the set. However, it does mean that my grandson will be able to play with his dad’s old trainset even though the old train itself doesn’t work due to the batteries having been left in for many years.
Disappointed as it doesn’t fit into big jigs wooden track, this was not stated anywhere when I bought it. It goes round but falls off on corners and is quite slow unless you just play on the wooden/laminate floor. Doesn’t go well on carpet. 2yo doesn’t particularly care but it disappointed me.
We got this for our (then) 2 year old last year. He absolutely loves it and still does. We’ve actually still not gotten around to putting batteries in it but he hasn’t noticed and he enjoys playing with it without them. This is a great gift for Thomas obsessed children like our son. Compared to similar sized trains it does seem pricey to me but according to my son the fact that it’s Thomas makes it worth the extra money.
My 18 month old grandaughter loves this. Took it to a family meal out and she was kept amused with it going round and round the table with grown ups help! lol
Bought as part of a birthday present for my Thomas mad 4 yr old grandson. He absolutely loves it. A good purchase and I have to say it’s very well made.
It’s a cute Thomas train but quite overpriced for what it is. Of course my toddler loved it because he loves Thomas but it feels quite light and cheap, and I wish the doors opened on the trailer so they could use it rather than it just being a plastic box! Batteries not even included and only runs on the specific plastic track for this brand. Considering you can get Brio or even Tesco own Carousel battery trains to run on the generic wooden tracks, I think this is a bit of a moneymaking scheme.
from the seller. A great addition to any wee fan’s collection. Good price too, especially as these ‘older’ engines are getting harder to come by. I will add here that I ordered this for a birthday present early and when the first one was opened…after the period for returns had passed, the switch was faulty but the seller could not do enough in terms of getting a fully working replacement. All perfect in every way.
Arrived next day it was a present for grandson to go with the track master train set I’d got him. The set had only come with Thomas so wanted another train. This one was on offer. Not seen it in action yet.
Bought this and 2 others from the same supplier as a Christmas gift for one of our grandsons, he loves all his engines.
Arrived in stated time, well packed. They appear to be very well made and robust.
I haven’t opened this yet as it is a gift, but my kids have plenty of trackmaster trains. My son had the older trackmaster james where the tender was connected to the train by wires covered with plastic and the battery went in the tender, over time the connecter bit snapped so the train wasn’t a motorised one anymore, which is why I have bought this one. I awesume the batteries go in the train itself as there is now a clip for the train and tender to clip and unclip as seen in the pic, you can probarly connect the tender to other trains too. The reason for 4 stars is because in the picture for the james on the website I purchased from (this one) there is a button to turn the train on as you can see on the picture of Thomas but instead it is the older white switch also shown in the pic. I don’t think it will effect play in anyway though, but it may be abit misleading to customers purchasing for a younger child. It does have the new wheels with like little spikes for extra grip to climb bigger hills as the older ones don’t have the little spikes.
Well, this gained me kudos from my 3-year-old nephew so it gets 5 stars.
Secretly I did like playing with this as well, so I also give it five stars. It’s amazing how much time you can waste, and yet strangely enjoy, watching a toy train go round and round a track.
These Trackmaster trains are very pricey for what they are, but given that my nephew went around for a week afterwards telling everyone that his favourite birthday present was his Trackmaster James, it’s worth its weight in gold.
Suck that other aunties 😉
