Just moved in to a new place and the bathtub kept filing up while showering. Bought this to solve issue. Had to use slight force to push it in but managed to unclog the bathtube in a few mins. Very happy with purchase. Not so happy with what was inside.
As it says easy to use and does the job
This is great for that difficult corners in the waste pipes. Very useful
This worked well for me, the rotating section makes it very easy to use.
I had to play around a bit to get it to penetrate the blockage, but it did work, so I’m satisfied.
I can understand other reviews which complain it’s too flexible. If you have a tight angle to get around, the flexibility may be necessary. If the blockage is dense, it may be too bendy.
Did the job and long enough to go all the way through the Hoover pipe
This product can be used again and again. A way of unblocking a drain without horrible chemicals.
I had a blockage on the drain from a shower that also drained a washing machine. The rod was flexible enough to go downstream from the shower trap, clearing the mandatory hair monster, then upstream from the rodding elbow to break up the rest of the blockage (mainly washing machine detrius.) The job was done in a few minutes with everything free flowing and draing fast. It was easy to clean all the rubbish off the snake, but I did have to cut off the hair monster. An excellent tool for the job.
Perfect for allocating the blockage but not strong enough to clear it. Had to use a thicker and stronger rod to break through the blockage.
It worked first time. Had used Mr muscle and other shower unblockers as well as plungers. All worked for a short time. Used this and removed a large clump of hair and soap. Has been fine ever since.
Blocked kitchen sink.Had tried other methods ,drain unblockers various that your pour down the sink- didn’t work. Was going to call a plumber but saw this and at the price thought it was worth a punt.Arrived in good time from Amazon, took the U bend off under the sink and with me feeding it down the pipes and my wife turning the handle (it’s 6m’s long the bendy bit) cleared the blockage within a few minutes! Saved on a call to the plumber and it works, very pleased. After use washed it down with a hose and dried it off – now stored under the sink ( it comes with 2 reusable cable ties to coil it back up) ready for use again.
Almost perfect but the claw at the very end for the snake was too big to pass through the waste waste holes in both wash hand basin and bath. Ended up having to saw it off. Then managed to pass the snake through fully extended (a longer snake would have been useful, 5m say). Rotating the snake was easy and fairly effective. Made an improvement but I need a longer version of this.
living with my parents temporarily and the sink in their utility room blocked between christmas, i took apart the pipes that werent glued but no bloackage, so mum booked a plumber as a last resort through her home care for the blockage causing the washing machine and sink to back up, tried drain unblocker didnt work, and where the blockage was was inaccessible by hand.
after reading mixed reviews, buy given low price i thought it was worth try to save dragging someone out before christmas.
it took about 15 minutes. the issue we had is there are lots of bends in our pipes to get through and the blockage was fairly solid, a tip. online when there are lots of bends said to bend the end of the rod slightly, so one person had to hold this at the entrance to the pipe and the other winding the handle clockwise. we did this twice the second time it felt stuck when winding anti clockwise to get out but assume this was it pulling apart the blockage. we then wanted to test so put the pipes back together, sinkfull of hotwater and unplugged. at first the water didnt move but a gentle tap on the pipes where we felt the blockages were and voila the water cleared quicker than ever! another sinkful to be sure… yes… my parents now think the drain snake is a miracle product plumber has been cancelled water is draining perfectly
