Recently got into this game. It’s probably medium weight when it comes to difficulty but not too hard to teach and get the hang of.

The basic synopsis is that you are competing mining companies in the 19th Century. You need to buy land, build a mine (via auction against the other players), mine the pre and then invest for victory points.

The issue is that some land has a lot of water and when you mine ore the mines flood making it more costly the next time. You can develop the mines but each improvement costs you work time, and there are only so many improvements available between all players each round. You only get 10 slots each round. You may or may not know the value of the mines at the auction depending on whether you started the suction and played your survey card or not. At times you are bidding blind.

On top of this there is a randomiser is that the price of tin and copper changes each round by dice roll that simulates the ever changing costs back at the time.

You have to balance what you will achieve and when to do it to maximise your chances of winning.

Played it three times at 3 player count and really enjoyed it. An underrated gem.
