Portable egg light

He looks very cute on your baby’s bedside, but this clever penguin is also portable! Super-soft, lightweight and perfectly sized for little hands, the egg lights up when lifted off the penguin base. From 18 months onwards, your little one can pick up the removable egg light and use it to light the way to the bathroom, find their favorite toy or to read under the covers.

Adjustable brightness

This clever penguin has got your back when it comes to night-time parenting duties. Turn up the light for late-night nappy changes or dim it down to settle your baby back to sleep. His gentle glow is enough for you to see what you’re doing but won’t unsettle anyone’s sleep.

Rechargeable

The penguin night light is powered by a 200cm mains power USB-cable meaning no hunting around for batteries. The portable egg light recharges on its penguin base throughout the day and lasts up to 10 hours once fully charged.

My 4 year old loved this night light would highly recommend. You can remove the egg and provides light when she wants to use toilet. We have been using it for the last few months and have had no issues with it.

I can’t recommend this enough if you have kids. I use this for my newborn twins the egg is great for late night nappy changes and in general a great nightlight that isn’t too bright. I liked it so much I had to buy another one for my 5 year old we use it for story time at night and he can use the egg to find his way to the bathroom at night. Really well thought out and useful product I only wish I had this sooner.

I was looking for a safe nightlight after a cheaper one from Amazon started smelling like it was burning! There are loads of those colour changing cheap imported ones that look great but I now worry about their safety. I got this for my 7 year old who still likes a night light but LOVES the fact you can carry the egg to the toilet in the night. Would be great from birth too as very cute in the corner of a nursery and you can set the brightness too for night feeds etc. Would recommend!!

Very easy to install, and one of the few mains powered night lights on a cable I could find. Most others are solely rechargable.

This was a problem with our old night light as the charge ran out every night, leaving my daughter in the dark when she woke, which then woke everyone else up when she yelled out.

The removable egg is a bonus – it’s so cool. Has about 8-10 of battery life itself, but constantly recharges when on the base. You can vary the brightness on it by pressing the top of the egg too – I didnt see this noted anywhere! That said, I didn’t read the instructions at all.

Only downside is the rubberised material. Obviously great that it is all squishy, so less harm to tiny hands when playing with the light. But it does get dusty and pick up dirt off the floor – more affecting the egg as it can be easily removed and played with. But only a v minor down side, and fixed with a wet wipe in seconds.

    Otherwise super happy with it!

Our little one sleeps through the night again now, thanks to this! no more night panick because the room is too dark!
We leave it on all night, with the dimmer half way through.

Been using mine for almost 18 months now and it’s brilliant! I used it almost every night and I’ve even bought one for a friend who’s just had a baby.
Great that you can use the egg or the penguin – So lots of level of light/brightness to cater for all needs. A top buy and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

Was recommended by a friend. This light is great, very soft lighting and dimable and removable egg is so handy.
I currently use this for night feeds, the dimable penguin gives off the perfect light for us to sleep though but also be able to see the baby, and the removable egg is perfect for taking too the loo so you don’t have to turn on the big light and give a great amount of light for nappy changes without being too bright in the middle of the night.

Once baby is older will be the perfect night light and will be handy for baby to grab the egg and go to the loo or to another room (when they can’t reach the light switch)

    I love this product!
    Couldn’t recommend more!

It’s on every night, set just enough so I can see my baby. I bought other cheaper ones but have ended up using this as it works well for us. The glow from the penguin then pick up the egg for a more portable ligh

My little girl was getting nervous at night about walking from her room to the bathroom in the dark. Although we have a plug-in sensor light, this would turn off whilst she was in the bathroom and she was becoming frightened. I bought this as a solution to this issue and it has been fantastic! She takes the egg with her and it has increased her confidence lots. I love how easy it is for her to use. The penguin is a very pleasant night light and I love that you can dim it right now if you want to. Overall, a good quality product that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

I’m such a fan of this light, I bought it on offer bit it is worth full price. Its great that the egg is portable and is also dimmable by pressing down on the top. I use for dim light whilst I feed baby at night. Very easy to use. Thumbs up from me!

My 3 year old developed a sudden fear of the dark, completely out of nowhere. Bought this to help him sleep at night. He loves it – on days when he’s feeling brave, he can turn it down. On days when he’s not feeling so brave, he turns it up. He loves how he has the control over how bright Penguin is (creatively named..) and I love how he no longer gets scared at bedtime. We haven’t used the egg for nightime bathroom trips yet, but it will be very suitable when he decides to go unsupervised at some point.

    These are awesome!

We wanted to make our little ones changing room more cosy for the late night changes so he didn’t get so his sleep wasn’t so disrupted by the big brighter lights.

We found these lights and haven’t looked back!

The penguin stand is great with a dimmer on the back to get the brightness just right! The penguin stand acts a charger for the portable egg! The design is simple but fun at the same time.

The portable egg is a brilliant feature that lights up as soon as it’s removed from the stand and switches off once returned to the stand. The egg has a couple of brightness options as well.

These lights really are great and well worth the money!

Never write reviews but just to say this ticks all the boxes for us. It’s easy to use, safe for my 18 month to have beside her bed. She loves it, carries it around, gives it a little kiss. The transportable egg is also a great feature. Brightness levels were just what I am looking for to create ambiance for bedtime. Can’t recommend enough.

We love this lamp so much! I love the the Mummy penguin can be dimmed to complete darkness unlike most night lights that are set far too bright. The little egg is a joy to use & brilliant when you need instant light. It doesn’t dim any further than the preset brightness which is the only thing I’d change. But overall I’m very happy with this & highly recommend it. One of the best purchases I’ve made since becoming a Mummy 🙂

This has been really useful so far. The penguin has continuous setting for brightness, and the egg has 3 possible levels you can switch between, and we found them sufficient. It’s really handy that you can take the egg anywhere so easily (changing table, look inside the cot, etc…), having just a static breastfeeding lamp would definitely be much less useful!

Needed a night light for my son who was waking with possible night terrors. This does the job well and will last through different ages. It’s a cute design, the light brightness is adjustable and I love that the egg is a separate light so that when my son gets older and can leaves his room at night he will have his own light to accompany him. Would definitely recommend

Great night light, only thing I wish I could do is turn the portable egg light completely off. Taking it on holiday it was annoying it had to remain on all the time. And it would be nice to be able to turn the main light off at the wall without the egg coming on.

I’m so impressed with these nightlights I’ve picked up two one for each of my boys , I love how it’s soft bodied so there’s less chance of breaking if dropped ,the adjustable glow is fantastic and the portable egg is brilliant for taking about the house or using as a little torch with 3 brightness settings too , so easy to use and set up 🙂 couldnt recomend these enough we have them on every night no over heating ect just peace of mind . Only downfall is you need to buy a plug 🙂

I don’t rate this brand as a whole but this product is amazing. It’s soft and squidgy so safe for a toddler. I used it for night time nappy changes in the early days. I keep it on a very low light setting all night when cosleeping with my baby. I love that you can take the egg away for a quick bathroom trip.
Only downside is that when you put the egg back on the base after some time (I assumed once it’s fully recharged) the main penguin light gets just a smidge brighter. Plus if you unplug it without turning it off, the egg just stays on.
Minor flaws really, I love this thing so much and have used it so much already, and will continue to do so as my child grows

This night light is amazing! We used it so much when our baby was newborn and still do now he is a toddler. The egg part is the best as we often charge it up and take it on holiday with us and it lasts ages (we have gone up to 7 days). The three levels of light are perfect for dream feeds! Just great! X

My toddler loves this. We have the lamp on while he’s getting ready for bed then switch it off and use the egg for story time. It’s handy for bedtime stories because we can switch the light off and take the egg to bed. Tou can switch the egg off by pressing the top and holding it for a few seconds. He’s not taking himself to the toilet yet but sure it will be useful when he does.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersPros – easy to use for toddler ages up.
    Adjustable brightness on main penguin
Removable egg lights straight up as soon as removed and is a bonus that it can be carried around.
Egg seems to last 12 hours when off base when charged constantly
USB wire is very long and fully removable from penguin.

Cons – soft material that penguin and egg are made from collects dust, hair etc and is not easy to keep clean you may be able to see some dust on the penguin in video/photo
    – only comes with USB wire, no plug. Luckily we have USB charging points on all our plug sockets..

Do not expect ‘lamp’ brightness in the whole room.

Overall I do really like this nightlight and my toddler seems to like it too. Not sure I would have been happy to pay the full price for it as I got it on special offer at 10 less than rrp especially if I didn’t already have USB charging ports in my plug sockets!!

My children are 5 and 7, but this light is perfect. They both like a light on, but different brightness. As they are in bunks, this lamp is perfect. The one uses the base by her bed in dim. The other has the egg in a little hammock on maximum brightness. The 10 hr use on charge is a lie, we had just over 11hrs then it went dim and turned off. The penguin is a rubber like material and squishy, so it the egg. The penguin has a dial to turn down the brightness, while the egg has 3 brightness settings, you just click it to change it. Its all around perfect and the best thing I’ve ever purchased.

Love this. Was looking for a night light for our 4yr old and this has ticked all the boxes. It’s mains powered with a variable brightness (that’s the penguin). The portable egg sits on the base and only lights up when lifted off the base, it has a soft light which is perfect, not too bright. The little ones can dim the main penguin light and have that on or have that as a brighter main light when needed and use the egg as a night light. They can carry the egg around with them if they have to get up too. Superb

I struggled to find a decent night light when my child first moved into its own room. Ended up buying a normal lamp with a dimming mode. Sadly the bulbs were not easy to find. So decided to look for a new one.

This one is spot on. The egg will come in handy for when my child is bigger. As it can be taken to the bathroom to provide light… Etc
As soon as you return it back to the penguin, the egg goes off and the penguin lights up again.

Got it half price on a deal day, but will definitely recommend it to friends and family. Its ideal.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersWith baby numbers 1 and 2 I used my phone light for nighttime feeds, so glad I have this for baby 3. The light on the base can be adjusted and is the perfect brightness for night time feeds/changing. The egg is a brilliant idea. I give this to my toddler if she wakes because it’s too dark, the brightness on the egg has 3 settings and is a lovely night light which stays on overnight without the base, I’ve read it can last 3 nights without charging but I simply put it back on the base in the morning. I would highly recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIn the past we’ve been frustrated with battery nightlights that switch themselves off on a timer, lights to take to bed with impossible switches to find, wired lights that aren’t handy, rechargeable ones that stop charging up. This one solves all those problems. The egg can last all night staying on in bed, but is so easy for my little girl (age 4) to control on/off and brightness by just pressing the top. The penguin is very cute and gives a good light if extra is needed to keep the shadows away. The egg drops easily onto the charger to charge up during the day. It has made a huge difference to my little girl’s confidence going to bed when she was getting scared of the dark.

This is the best product. My nearly 5 year old is terrified of the dark and doesn’t like being on his own. We are trying to get him back in his own room.

I have a massive fear of fire though, so I don’t like anything plugged in all night. When I spotted this product I wasn’t sure, but thought we should give it a go.

It’s sooooo good. My son loves it! It creates the perfect amount of light and doesn’t need to be plugged in all night.

The only downside for me is that the penguin itself doesn’t have the rechargeable battery. So it’s just the egg that will be lit up all night in our house.

Definitely give this a go without question. It’s amazing!

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersI am 16 years old, and I have never liked sleeping or going downstairs in the dark. Whether you or your children find the dark frightening at night, when trying to sleep or wander your room or home, I definitely recommend this night light.
I have had numerous night lights before purchasing this one, but I have never been fully satisfied. Either they broke within a couple months, weren’t customisable enough, were too bright, or too dim. Initially I thought this night light was far too expensive, however, now I can completely understand the price point.

The night light has a soft, silicone touch to both the penguin and the egg. Although I am older and perhaps don’t need this material, it is perfect for young children who wish to use this night light. It is very safe as the material does not get hot from being on all night.
At the back of the penguin there is a little wheel, located by the charger. This allows you to either brighten or dim the light. I find this so useful as at night I still prefer a dimmer light, but when doing other things I like it to be as bright as possible.
The thing that is particularly my favourite, is the egg. It is very portable. Although I was initially worried about it not being bright enough, it sure enough surprised me. It has 3 different brightness levels. Bright, medium, and dim. As soon as you take it off it’s charging base on the penguin, it lights up.
I have been using this when I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night, or downstairs to get a snack. It disturbs my family far less than an enormously bright phone flashlight going down the corridor.

5 stars. Definitely recommend, and best one Ive had yet.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersLOVE this night light. My son (2.5) developed what I deduced was a fear of the dark. He’d kick off at Bath time and not stop screaming until he was asleep. He didn’t want to turn off his bedside light because it was ‘scary’. He still wakes every night and waking in the night in the dark was terrifying.

This was a lot more expensive than some of the alternatives but I didn’t want to byt something that wouldn’t last and I didn’t need changing colours etc.

The penguin lights up as long as it is plugged in and then the egg remains unlit whilst on the base. As soon as you lift the egg it lights up. The brightness on the penguin can be changed from basically not on to a brightness you could just about read from. The egg has 3 brightness levels that you change by gently pressing the top.

My son loves the silicone feel of the penguin and egg. He happily turned off his light and had the egg in the corner of his bed while he fell asleep and then I put it back on the base. For the the first time, when he woke up in the night he just got out of bed and wandered into our room rather than crying.

I think the detachable egg is what makes this worth it.

I removed one star because (despite the price) only the charging cable with USB is supplied without a plug. I’m currently having to use my phone charging plug while I wait for one that I’ve ordered to arrive.
